Has anyone had any experience using the American Express parade viewing area? The goal for us would be to utilize this for mardi gras and not have to line up so early to get a spot for us and our kids (5 and 10yo).

just got the email today and there will be a parade and concert during our visit. Saddly, I don't even know who trace atkins is (other than I think he was on the Apprentice) lol. Another day and we could have seen MKTBO. oh well. At least we get a parade.

Is there an age range for little jesters? i was thinking of going early for that. But an AE area would be good too. hopefully someone knows the answer!

I believe the AMX area is in front of terminator. Don't quote me on that though! We used the AP area.

you could send an email to guest services and ask where the AMX viewing site is located.

Where is the AP area and can I bring in one friend?

Its right in front of Mel's Diner. I was with my son and we both have APs. I also had my nephew with and he does not have an AP. The TM said normally anyway without an AP is generally not let in but, they also weren't allowed to deny my 8 yr old nephew to come in with me. The TM was very nice, as they always are, and did not make a big deal or cause a hastle at all.

Is there a thread that shows all the little benefits that one can use? Something like a section for AP holders, AMEX holder, etc? It would be great to have all this info in one place. I was going to use the AMEX reserved parade viewing, but we also have APs, so which one is better?

I didn't use the amx area. However, in the AP area we stood right at the corner in front of Mel's. The parade starts and ends in front of that spot so you get to see everything twice. One thing to to remember...everyone is having a great time and that makes it a fantastic time no matter where you are viewing the parade. We have had great interaction with other visitors each time we have done Mardi gras. Reminds me of blutos bilge-rat barges. That ride is so much fun as far as interaction with others also riding.

We have done the AP viewing area a few times for Macy's parade and one Mardi Gras. Personally we don't care for it.

We like to stand across from Monsters Cafe as you get the parade then turn around to see the concert after. Then there is no need to navigate the crowds either.

Yep, I agree, we usually stand in the area too. My son and nephew are both 9 and we weren't doing the concert this time so I decided to try out the AP area and the kids has a blast.
