Do you have that brand of clothing in England? :confused3

Don't think we've have it, I've picked all family brains here. Sorry.

Never seen any - is it worth looking out for?

My kids love American Eagle clothing, especially my son (14); much of what he has SAYS "American Eagle" on it, in some sort of decorative fashion. He's going to England soon for a week. My DD (16) is going the same week to Spain; her teacher said that they should try not to stand out like a sore thumb as Americans. :confused3 Would that be true of Americans visiting England too??

He's got this one also...

Maybe I'm overanalyzing this, but I'm getting nervous about my kids traveling so far away, especially at the same time!

I wouldn't worry about standing out, teens pretty much wear the same type of clothes on both sides of the pond. Other US brands are popular over here (Nike, etc.), so I don't they would look obviously American.
Yankees baseball caps are also very popular over here (not because everyone supports the Yankees, but it's the only MLB logo you can get in the UK LOL).

Just make sure they take care and use a bit of common sense (as they would in the US), like not flashing their mobile phones or large sums of money around.

Thanks! I'll just make sure he doesn't take his "I love Bush" T-shirt! :rotfl2: (Just to be sure you know...he doesn't HAVE an "I love Bush" T-shirt! :rotfl: )

It's that whole "common sense" thing that scares me about a bunch of 14 and 15 year old boys! I'm going to sit him down and drum some warnings into his head (much to his annoyance, no doubt). He won't have a cell phone with him...may have his iPod. Will have a digital camera. Oh well...my mom's motto of parenting (she's 84) is "Say a prayer and hope for the best." :)

That's funny about the Yankees baseball caps. We, however, are Red Sox fans, so no wearing Yankees baseball caps EVER! I'll have to tell him about that tho...he'll get a kick out of it.

An "I Love Bush" t-shirt would have a completely different meaning in the UK LOL

 No, he's just a kid...no interest in THAT for him (said the clueless, ignorant mommy ;)). Um, yes, we have that one here too, and it may be preferable to George W. ;)

I bought him the book "British Phrasebook" for Christmas, and it's fun to read about the language differences. Maybe I'll post some later and see if you really use them and know what they mean. :)

My DD heads stright for any American Eagle store she finds in the US - we don't have them here!

As for your DS looking out of place, I wouldn't worry at all that AE branded clothing will mark him out as obviously American :) I hope he has a great trip (and that you can manage not to worry too much while he's away! ;) )

I wish we had them here. My DH & DD love their clothing along with Abercrombie & Fitch :)
