Airline's passengers get weather break
Wire Report
FORT WORTH - American Airlines, the nation's largest carrier, is giving storm-affected travelers a fee break when it comes to rescheduling.
On its Web site, the airline cited recent bad weather in the eastern U.S. in explaining its summer storms travel policy.
Parts of Texas also have been inundated by flooding this week.
Fort Worth-based American is allowing passengers to change their travel plans once at no cost through Sunday. Tickets must have been issued by Tuesday.
The ticket change applies to people traveling to, from or through Florida, Illinois, New Jersey, New York and Texas, according to the travel policy.
Such passengers may change their American Airlines reservations to travel as late as July 9, with no fee for the reticketing, the policy said.
Hope this helps someone.
