Amenities at DVC Resorts?

We are considering renting points from a DVC member. I understand there is no daily mousekeeping. How does one get fresh towels? Do you still get the little Disney soaps/shampoos? (we don't feel it necessary to pay extra for mousekeeping either)

I think it's on the fourth day (I never pay attention) they come and change out your towels, and empty the trash. There are soaps and shampoo in the room upon your arrival. If you are staying in a one or more bdrm, you can wash your towels if you need to, that is what we do. Usually, since I don't pay attention to when the fourth day is, mine are in the washing machine.

The soap is of the Ivory variety. Yuck. We bring our own.

a 1-bedroom and up has a washer/dryer

the studios have access to a laundry room where the washer/dryer are free.

now the washer/dryer is free - but the detergent is NOT!!!

so bring your own!

The soap is of the Ivory variety. Yuck. We bring our own.

The soap doesn't float, so it can't be 99% pure like Ivory. It's not Ivory soap. Just a plain white soap, no deodorant, no special scrubbing particles, etc.

As for towels, we just hang them up on the towel bar like we do at home.

I concur, the soap isn't Ivory... I'm allergic to Ivory, so I would notice .

I don't know if it floated or not, did not keep it around long enough to see!

It may not be Ivory (but on another thread a bit back it was discussed and everyone agreed, but anyway)...what ever it is, it is nasty.

Thanks spiceycat, we are staying in a studio using rented points during our upcoming trip. I did not know there were "free washer and driers". I'll pack my laundry tablets.

Reading these boards is so helpful. It seems like I am constantly learning new info. Thanks to all.
