Amending my booking

I'm thinking of shortening the length of our stay by a few nights, which I understand will incur a fee of £50. Does anybody know if they simply add the £50 to the total cost of the booking or if it is taken at the time of amendment?

Thanks!

I believe any amendment fees are added on to the total cost. Our booking is not through the WDTC but we recently made an amendment and the amendment fee was just added to the total balance we now owe.

if the total amount of your booking gets higher as a result of your amendment, then the amendment fee is waived

if the value is less, then it's simply added to your balance.

I don't know about adding flights, but since it will result in a higher amount, I would think that there is no fee attached (but I could be wrong)

Thanks guys. I'm assuming I'd be able to keep the deal I originally got, i.e. 14-day tickets for the price of 7 and the free dining plan?

ask them, but theoretically, when you make an amendment involving a date change, the price is re-calculated based on the current prices.
The tickets are ok, since the deal is still on, but they might tell you that you now have to pay for your dining plan. But I don't want to scare you. Just send them an email asking how much it would cost to amend your booking, and give them your new dates.
they will send you the answer and you'll need to explicitely accept the new conditions and price before they amend your booking.

I recently move my dates forward a day, I kept the dining plan and gift card etc and because it was about £20 more to stay those dates I didn't have to pay the amendment fee. I don't know if it will be the same when you are reducing your stay though but they were very helpful on the phone so I'd just ring and enquire

I called tonight. I managed to reduce our stay from 14 to 10 nights, at a cost of £50 (which had to be paid today). However, this fee appears to have been added to the deposit, so it's gone towards the cost of the holiday rather than being an additional charge. :thumbsup2

The price came out around £500 less than the original balance and I managed to keep hold of my tickets and free dining plan. :)

That's lucky as when we moved our dates we got charged the £50 and that was just a additional charge!

When I amended our booking the £50 was added to the deposit but it was also itemised as a charge on the invoice. Even if you do get charged the £50 you've still come out £450 ahead and you get to keep all the extras! :thumbsup2
