Gone for over a month??? That is hardly any time at all, in my opinion. I guess I don't see how he could think about ANYTHING except his missing daughter, right now.

yes I would think this too but we really don't know everything there is to know either. there might be a very good reason why they are getting married or they may have someone advising them to do this. we just don't know til we walk their shoes.

I figured the wedding would be today since the marriage certificate they picked up Monday expires today and we hadn't heard anything yet.

Add me to the ones who think he's either not thinking clearly due to stress or thinking very clearly and trying to avoid arrest for sex with a minor.

Yep...that's why I was thinking they got married. It seems rather strange that they rushed such a thing. Obviously, they are trying to protect each other. I feel so bad for that poor baby girl.

Don't get me wrong! I would be out of my head too after only a month. BUT there is "fresh" where the hurt and grief is still fresh and "fresh" as in just missing. Sadly, a month is no longer "just missing". Especially when it's a child who is missing.

No matter what the deal IS, marrying his gf while they still have no idea where that child is... and I QUOTE... is putting themselves on the major radar. It's shows very BAD judgment and even if they're clean as the driven snow the authorities are going to be on them like white on rice, as I'm sure they've been all along.

Per Nancy Grace, the biological mom has hired an attorney and most likely will be going after custody of their son. They claim now that Haileigh was taken from the home that it would be possible for someone to take the boy too and therefore Ronald is now an unfit parent.
Maybe this marriage thing is to show the courts that he has a stable home in order to keep his son? Just trying to make some sense of it.

I think thats what the marriage is for. He's trying to prove husband/wife home (something mom doesn't have) and he's probably concerned about the legal implications of their relationship, pertaining to her age.

I don't think either one of them are involved. He has been proven to be at work and she's not bright enough to kill a kid and hide the body that well.
It's happening more and more for a stranger (or not) to come in at night and take children. They target "easy" homes and a 17 year old girl alone all night with two small kids is more easy that my house with a huge dog, alarm system and DH.

This is such a wierd case.
IMO I think they got married because it was only a matter of time before the father got in trouble for having a under age GF.So gettng married stops the police from going after him and label him a pedophile(SP?) then he would lose his son.

Really??...Do you really think this?.....Somehow I don't think Ronald would be marrying this girl if he thought for one minute she`was behind this kidnapping...I think he` would Kill her!

He certaintly would not be marrying her to protect her if he thought she`was guilty of anything....Iam surprised anyone `would think this..
