Married people can't be forced to testify against each other in a court of law.
One of the lawyers on Nancy Grace said this doesn't apply in cases where a child was harmed.

Really??...Do you really think this?.....Somehow I don't think Ronald would be marrying this girl if he thought for one minute she`was behind this kidnapping...I think he` would Kill her!
He certaintly would not be marrying her to protect her if he thought she`was guilty of anything....Iam surprised anyone `would think this..![]()
Can they claim spousal privilege now that they're married? I can't help wondering if that's what they're thinking.
They can claim it for private communication after the marriage, but they can't claim it for anything pertaining to harm that may have come to the child, before or after the marriage.
That girl is up to something. And I'm sorry, bless their little hearts they've been through a lot, but what kind of 25-year old man dates a 17-year old? She may be over the age of consent, but it's still a little off.
I agree. Something just seems a bit off. They can claim it for private communication after the marriage, but they can't claim it for anything pertaining to harm that may have come to the child, before or after the marriage.

I was OK with them eating out. I was OK with them getting married. But a HONEYMOON? That's just wrong.Today Show paid for them to go to NY and have their honeymoon.
How could any family celebrate a wedding while their little girl is missing?
Something is WRONG with this whole thing.
I hadn't thought about it, but that could very well be the reason they got married. My current guess to why they got married was to look more "stable" since the ex-wife is trying to gain sole custody of the other child.
I hope you are right. That would mean that Haleigh is OK.My bet rest with the mother.
If she couldn't get custody and felt that her ex was abusive, what better way of getting her kids than convincing someone (boyfriend) to kidnap Haleigh and hide her out while she now claims that the home is unsuitable for her son because Haleigh was kidnapped from the home. Once she gets custody of him, she could quietly move away and live happily ever after.
I know, kind of far fetched but the pieces would add up.
I saw the interview this morning. The whole interview was awkward, neither could form a sentence or give any information. There was complete silence when she was asked why she changed her story.

Something is WRONG with this whole thing. Whether or not they had anything to do with the disappearance-to celebrate a wedding is just completely odd.
I believe a deputy was quoted as saying Misty Croslin is the key to this whole investigation.

Haleigh's Dad Weds As Search Continues
Bride Wears White Dress, Veil

SATSUMA, Fla. -- Investigators again searched a wooded area looking for missing 5-year-old Haleigh Cummings on Thursday as her father married the teenager who was with Haleigh when she disappeared.
The Putnam County Sheriff's Office said it had about 100 law enforcement officials search along U.S. Highway 17 north of Crescent City. The area has not been searched in the past, and nothing was discovered on Thursday.
The family told WESH 2 News that Ronald Cummings, 25, married 17-year-old Misty Croslin in a private ceremony.
They got married in front of 20 guests gathered in Cummings' grandmother's back yard.
Earlier in the day, the family still didn't know what Cummings would wear. He said his vows in a red shirt. He later stripped down to a tank top for the formal ring picture. His bride was more traditional in a white dress and veil.
Her bouquet was homemade, and all the flowers were edible.
The couple had hoped to marry at their Baptist church in near San Mateo, but the church refused. So they contacted two notaries to make the ceremony legal.
Cummings' mother told WESH 2 News that they're having the wedding now because they didn't have time before.
The couple hopes Haleigh will soon be found so they can all celebrate their wedding together.
"When she comes home, she will have Misty for her mommy, and that's what we want to give her," Cummings' mother said.
Cummings and his new bride don't have honeymoon planned yet, but Thursday night they traveled to New York City.
The couple appeared on NBC's "Today" show at 7:30 a.m. on Friday.
Cummings asked Croslin to marry him on Sunday night at Chili's in Palatka. Croslin was sleeping in the home she shared with Cummings on the night Haleigh disappeared one month ago.
The sheriff's office said Thursday's search "is not the result of information received, but is being conducted as one more step in the continuing search for Haleigh."
