Did the Linz family get booted last night? I was watching the Biggest Loser Finale...

No, it was a continuation round. There was no pit stop and they keep on racing.

Thank you so much for the quick response. Linz is my favorite team and the one time I clicked over they were in lats place. They showed scenes for next week but didn't show the Linz or Branson teams..

The Guido situaiton was quite unique. As you pointed out, it's proof that editing can make a big difference.

It was a unique situation--I just didn't appreciate being told that my observation was courtesy of editing--when it came straight from the players mouths. And the editing attempted to make them look close--but it was a bit hard to pull off.

I forgot about the Hawaii ending for the other time it happened to a team.

Just watched the Video clips from last nights episode on CBS website. I've never watched them before. They certainly don't show the Weaver's in any better light. I like the one where they show them begging for money and some guy tells them "I work for my money" basically to get a job. :rotfl2:

I really didn't pay to much attention to that part, I wonder if they told the people they were asking for money that they were in a race.

Found this from googling Linda Weaver:

Now she would have to earn the money. For years, Linda was a correspondent for The News-Journal, writing feature stories for the paper's Neighbors section, covering community and school events. At home, she focused on home schooling the kids.

The thought of life without Roy was unbearable; but she found strength in God and help from fellow church members.

In the months to come, money arrived in the mail. Church members showed up to tackle chores. They laid sod and installed a fountain in the front yard. A memorial garden to Roy was constructed where Linda would scatter his ashes.

The couple's "faith in the Lord" had always held them together, Linda said. Now faith was carrying her onward.

For weeks, Linda grappled with the issue of home schooling her kids. Putting the kids in the public school system, Linda feared would be too overwhelming during an already tumultuous time period. So she prayed.

That's when God opened a door, a new career, she said. Linda now teaches fifth-graders at Calvary Christian Academy, where she enrolled her own kids.

She homeschooled the kids and then went on to teach 5th Grade at the Christian school...

I'm sorry if I offended you, it certinaly wasn't my intent. We're only taking about a hypothetical, so I'm really only trying to explain myself, not tell you that you were wrong.

I am going to post this unpopular opinion because it will make me feel better ;) I was talking to my mom last night, she really likes the Weavers. I asked her why and mentioned things that have been mentioned on here about their behavior. She said that while there is NO excuse for how they are acting, she can relate to how mom Weaver is probably feeling. My dad died when I was younger and my mom was left with 11, 14 and 16 year old girls. She said that it's very hard to still be a parent when you are all grieving together and you're bonding on a more adult level. She and I both noticed that mom Weaver has become more and more childlike throughout the race. Almost like she started out trying to be a mom and once she realized that making fun of people was enabling her to bond with her teenage children (an average teenage behavior) she went with it and ran because she didn't know how else to act. It seems like maybe the dad was the one who always held the family together and mom was left trying to figure out what to do. The other teams think she's 'crazy' because she dances around and acts silly with her kids, so what? What ever happened the the old 'until you've walked a mile in someone else's shoes' saying?

I am not making excuses, I'm not even saying I love them and want them to win. They often annoy me with some of the things they say and do. However, many of the other teams say things just as rude frequently and people act like that's ok because 'the Weavers supposedly started it.' People go on and on about the Weavers constantly praying, but yet the Linz's can keep taking God's name in vain and saying holy **** and no one cares :confused3 It just makes me sad that there is very little empathy in this world. Why can't we watch and disagree without attacking people's lifestyle, career, etc...?

Thank you, thank you, thank you. I said awhile back, I don't really approve of the mom, she should be disciplining with some of the actions her kids are doing. But, having 4 teenagers, I'm not saying my kids are angels, and they do have respect for other people, but you are not always going to stop them saying what they want to say, or acting the way they do sometimes. If people think they can hold such a tight restraint on their teenagers, the rubberband will eventually snap one day.

When the Weaver's were laughing and clapping and singing on the bus ride, and then dancing around outside, so what if the mom joined them-I'm glad your mom could see the reason why the Weaver Mom is acting the way she is.

It's because they have claimed to be "better people" than the other teams. Worse than that, they have claimed they are better people because of their religion.

Of course other teams have done or said bad things, but the Weavers have indeed brought this upon themselves.

Yes, I agree. A good Christian should be very empathetic and not attack people's lifestyle and career. Why then, were the Weavers making fun of Mr. Paolo's job of a garbage collector and why are they always mocking the "Desperate Housewives" and their hair and breasts?

If they are going to claim to be a Christian family following a Christian lifestyle, then they should practice what they preach.

This is what bothers viewers.

If they are in such a fragile state, then perhaps they shouldn't be exploiting themselves on national TV.

As should those of us here who also consider ourselves to be Christians.

As a non Christian I find thier holier-than-thou attitude annoying. Especially when they are not better than the other teams.

Um, yeah, gotta love those credentials that private schools require  Having experienced both, I'll take a good public school teacher anytime...

I did end up watching it this afternoon while putting up Christmas ornaments, wow, that balloon collision was a real thriller :bored: :rolleyes1

They tried the drop the people off in Mongolia (literally) with just a passport and race to LA that you are suggesting Cardaway. It totally tanked, they even cut it short and had to reedit the remaining episodes to show every one who won.

I always thought the race should be run more like the large bike races, where everyone leaves at the same time, but accumulates time. Then they could make the roadblocks/detours really hard and make yields longer (as in multiple hours). If you want to stay in first place you better get to them all first. You could also add time bonuses for the first team to finish each leg of a detour, to spread the teams between them a little better, instead of everyone always doing the "quick" one.

Better still, you can reduce the number of teams to 8, with a mass elimination of 4 teams at the half (award money for the time differences between the leading teams ~$250K). Reset the clock until the finale, where they eliminate one or two more teams and award more time cash (~$250K) Then you still have the footrace to the big money ($500K).

This eliminates the silly equalizers and deepens the team dynamics/competition, all the while keeping with the same close race throughout.

....But not so much this time.

I hear ya! I have been a faithful watcher to every single amazing race and cannot get into this one at all. I don't know if it is all the name calling and bad mouthing between the Weavers, sisters and Linz's or if it is just that we haven't really gotten to know each person like you do in a normal amazing race. Frankly, I really don't care who wins but at least the Branson family does the least amount of bad mouthing. I hope a new "non-family" edition is coming sooner that later!

No one here is preaching anything.

Additonally--not one poster has claimed to be better than the family. Not big on my Bible Quotes--but IIRC, that is not something that God looks favorable upon.

Oh gosh, that's just awful!

Is Pennsylvania a state, Mrs. Weaver???

Glad I don't live in FL and want to send DS to that private school someday...
