Amazing Race, Family Edition. *Official DiscussionThread*

Honestly at this point, the Linz family is the only team I would really like to see win.....I don't hate the Bransen family, I'm kinda apathetic about them.....the Godlewski sisters annoy the heck out of me....and the Weavers just irritate me more with each passing week (was the comment to those poor bikers really necessary.... )

Hey Hey Hey Play nice! please do not attack other members for their opinions.

Thanks

can not beleive I missed this one!!!! argggggg

my feelings on the weavers..... :rolleyes1

I am glad it was a non-elimination round tonight.
I am pulling for the underdogs, like I usually do.

A single mom who admits she never travels, with 3 teenagers over a family of
- young athletic, very strong men and a strong woman.
-4 women who have travelled extensively together and have experience
-a wise man and 3 grown daughters who also travel alot.

The Weavers are the underdogs here for sure, and I would like to see them take it.

:cool1: GO LINZ FAMILY!! GO LINZ FAMILY!!! :cool1:

I have been rooting for them since the start of the race. I love how they are playing! They are having fun!!! And that is what it is all about! I hope they take it all the way.

I have sooo had my fill of the Wavers. I was so hoping that tonight they would have been going home! (And the way they were acting at the mat, they should have just gone home.) I am sick and tired of them boo-hooing about how the other teams are treating them, talk about how they are better than the other teams and then they turn around and just become evil to the other teams. And nasty to strangers on bikes. Its just sad that it looks like they will be able to catch up to the other teams next week. And of course they try to start a fight with the Linz family for Yielding them.

Here's hoping that they come in last agian!

And the true underdogs in my eyes is the father with the three daughters. They have worked really hard to be were they are in the line up. I hope nothing else goes wrong and they are able to stay ahead of the Weavers.

DITTO....

I THINK THE SAME ABOUT THE WEAVERS!! AND I HOPE THE GO HOME NEXT WEEK.
AND THE FATHER W THE 3 GIRLS, I LIKED THEM TOO.

The Weaver family is what gives religion a bad name. :rotfl2:

I guess I'm the only one that likes the Weavers (and they said my state was ugly!) I wonder now that the race is over if the other teams watch and think "why did we hate them so much". Were the Weavers really that bad? I would feel stupid being around them afterwards. I mean its just a game. I think there was one incident and somebody had a beef with the Weavers, then everyone else jumped on the bandwagon.

I think there was a LOT more with the Weaver family that we didn't witness.

I have never seen every team so against another in any other race. It's really surprising! Even Rob and Amber were better liked than the Weaver family. I can't help wonder what happened that would cause EVERY OTHER team dislike them so much.

You're not alone, Liz. I like the Weavers too. I feel that some of the things that the kids have done (thrown food, the comments to the bike riders, etc.) can just be written off to immaturity. Anyone who has ever had teenagers has probably witnessed that in their own kids. And just because they are Christians, it doesn't mean they are perfect. There has only been one perfect person in the world, and that was Jesus Himself.

Course not, but they don't even *try*. I also think when people say "Well, no one is perfect", that it's a copout for their actions. I don't dislike them because they're Christians acting this way, I wouldn't like them religion or not. But, when you go around stating.. "I'm a Christian", "Were better than them.", and "We're the only good team left" some sort of responsibility for your statements has to be held. You don't make those kind of comments then act the way the Weavers do. That is the very definition of hypocrisy.

And a collective groan is heard 'round the world...say it with me... UGHHHH :rotfl:

I just hope they don't win.

Exactly.
They think throwing garbage at other cars is nice? they think punching pictures of other teams and saying they look like a retard is nice?

In the past there have been teams that didnt like each other, but I never saw a team insult other teams the way that this family does.

I totally agree. Even when one team was trying to be nice to the Weaver kids at the racetrack, they were saying things about them as soon as they walked away.

From the interviews on GMA from the eliminated teams, it seems that no one liked them. Usually there is one team everyone dislikes during the race, but post race things improve or at least some teams like you. In this case it seems no team was a fan of the Weavers. I'm sure there is alot of things we don't see on TV, but obviously there was something going on that we may never find out about. I remember reading that the Weavers were the only team who did not contact the team from NO post Katrina. For being Christians they are very no Christian.

Nancy

That is a good point. Oh how I wish they would do a "behind-the scenes show" after this is over. I would LOVE to see how the Weaver's are during the 12-hour pit stop.

You are right about the other teams not liking each other, heck, even the other teams ended up not thinking Jonathan was not that bad after all, after the race. Most of the dislike of teams comes from the stress and pressure of the race, and the will and desire to win. Some teams do things that other teams may not feel needed to be done, ect. You get lied to, and people like Rob will do anything to win, and making friends at that point is not his priority. BUT, like you said, in every other season, the "disliked" team would always have nice things said about them during the post show interviews by the eliminated teams. The teams would all be friends by the end of the race. They all have a connection to each other that nobody else has. Nobody else had the experiences they had, and I would think a month of travelling together, and competing together would form a bond. Almost like a family, and some teams have even used the word family when describing the relationship between the teams. So, how bad were the Weaver's? Someone asked if after this was said and done, would we ask if the Weaver's were really THAT bad. I say YES. I am not talking smack about them. I am stating what they have done to cause me not to like them. Throwing garbarge at another car, UNPROVOKED. Yelling out at strangers on a bike. What did the guys on the bike ever do to the Weaver's? They're the nicest family they know. I am guessing, based on their past actions, if little Rolly's heckle had startled the biker's and they fell off their bike's, the Weaver's would of laughed, and kept on driving.

Chris Weaver said in her little McDonald's picnic, that they have never been disliked in their lives, it was all new to her, because everyone likes them. I can't believe that. I am sorry. Those girls are so very comfortable making fun of everyone, they have been doing it for a long time, NOT just in this pressure race. I am betting they are not liked very much in school. And Chris, you may THINK people like you, but I wonder if you were a fly on their wall, if you would find out different.

The Weaver's have to be HOURS behind the other teams. :cool1:

I want the Linz family to win, and the sister's have grown on me. So, as long as the Weaver's are eliminated, and the Linz's cross the finish line 1st, I'll be happy.

I love how Phil told them there was no 1st place prize! :rotfl2:

ugh...I fell asleep with about 15 or 20 minutes left to the show.
What comment did they make to a biker? Who was the biker?
I read the posts describing their behavior at the yiled, but how did they react at the mat? Did they lose everything or did they put all their clothes on like other teams have done?

Did anyone notice the "Production Note" or whatever thrown in there about draining a car battery with a camera. I think the sisters were the ones who got "penalized" for this mishap and a replacement vehicle was brought in to replace it. Just to turn the attention somewhere else. Should a team's time essentially be penalized if it is the crew that screws up? I say essentially because they had to wait on a replacement vehicle move their junk and then go on. I mean tonight it wasn't close but as we all know 10 minutes can make a difference at other times.

The problem I find with this is that the Weaver Mom is just as immature as her kids are, if not more so. Instead of teaching them, she is right there along side them encouraging the rude behavior. I was so hoping this would be elimination!

They will probably give them a time credit at the start of the next leg.

yes, I didn't think that was really fair.

The Weaver's got off the main highway thinking they had to take another road north. It ended up being a long winding secondary road, a "scenic" route. They came along two people on a bicycle, they had the bike suits on, and were really going. Rolly yells out to them, "Yeah you THINK your Lance Armstrong" He may have said "you're not" I am not exactly sure of the quote.

Why oh why couldn't this have been an eliination round I sa want the weavers to be home in Florida. I really hope anyone from their church that watched this points out how immature they were with the editing we see on TV because I am pretty sure when they are watching it they do not see it at all. They probably play it back in their minds and think yep we acted like perfect angels everyone else was just terrible.

When the Paolos had their morning after elimination interview, they said that the Weavers were hypocrites and that basically what we were seeing on tv was what they were really like on the show. It did not seem like the Paolos had changed their minds about their feelings toward the Weaver family at all.
