Did they not used to show at the beginning of each show the start time of each team?

I do not remember saying the typical AR start - the Linz family arrived at such and such a time and will be the first to leave at such and such a time.

Or I am just not paying attention to the beginning of the show anymore?

It was a continuation of the leg. There was no pit stop, so no times to show. :teeth:

By the end of the last episode I actually wanted the sisters to go over the Weavers. The Weavers have really been impressing me as racers.

But I still don't like them. The scene with the three other teams outisde the campers after everybody arrived was a perfect example of the reality vs. the Weaver attitude. The other teams aren't bad people, they get along with each other almost without incident. It's obviously the Weavers and the Weavers alone that have problems with other teams.

Even the infamous Romber and Jonathan and Victoria---could stand in the same room with teams and remain civil with them.

That says a lot.

After we finished watched the last episode of AR, we looked around for something else to watch, but nothing caught our eye. So we checked to see if TiVo had recorded anything. And it turns out that it had recorded an old episode of AR from GSN. So we started it up.

It turned out to be one of the all-time best episodes IMO. It was from the 4th season, the one won by Chip and Reichen. It was set in Borneo, and it was the episode where Millie and Chuck (the virgins) lost a sprint to the mat against Kelly and Jon.

This episode had eveything. It was in an exotic location, it was competitive and intense, the challenges were well planned out, and it had a big finish between two teams that were mortal enemies. It was great!

Compare that to this season, where the teams have to get their picture taken, find a gas station, watch Old Fiathful erupt, etc. The brains behind AR should go back and watch these old episodes to see what made the show great. It won't be winning an Emmy this year.

I missed some of the show and did not see that part...
This board has made me change my mind about the weavers( They still had my vote out of sympathy)
But the thought of them winning and saying "God wanted them to win" (even with their some truly "unchrisitan" behavior) just made my stomach flip....

But they do seem to come from behind a lot and they do co=operate well together as a family......it will be interesting

I have to agree. I find the challenges to be pretty lame. I do still enjoy watching the show though. Maybe they were made that way because of children being involved this time. I so hope the Weaver's run out of gas although I don't think it will happen, they always seem to come through. I think the funniest line of the whole series so far is when the Linz brother said maybe a house would fall on the Weaver mom. Too funny!

My prediction of the finale:

Branson's will be eliminated in the first hour

Weaver's will be second

Linz family will WIN! (I hope)

Jimbo-I said the same thing to DH! We were watching TV and a promo came on for AR, the Emmy winning reality show.......I said, "NOT THIS YEAR!!"

Uggh, this has to be some of the worst detours and roadblocks ever. I do more challenging things in my everyday life....balancing checkbook, changing a poopy pull-up, mopping the floor........

I don't think anybody gets eliminated--it is a 3-way race for the win. (they all go to the finish line).

My mistake, i thought someone got eliminated in the first hour.

I miss the competition too. The Borneo episode had a dead heat at the finish, but not because everybody got bunched up just before the finish. It was just because the teams involved got equally lost in the Borneo countryside, and happened to finally find the Detour at the same time.

This year there's too much getting in line, doing things in turn, and then getting on the interstate to drive to the next task. It's hard (although not impossible) for anybody to screw up too badly, so it's hard to catch up. The Godlewskis took slightly longer than the other teams at the teepee task, and the rest of the show was a formality.

I hate to sound like one of those grizzled old timers that bore everyone with stories about the good old days, but c'mon.... anyone that gets GSN can compare season 4 side-by-side with this one. It's pretty one-sided, and season 1 through 3 were at least as good as season 4.

I noticed that too and I never really pay attention to that!!! :earseek: :earseek: Whoa Phil!!!!!!

Me too!!!!!!!!!!! :rotfl: :rotfl: I don't usually look for that, but it was hard to miss. He almost always wears tight pants, so I'm not sure why it/they suddenly stuck out this time (no pun intended. ;) )
