Amazing Race, Family Edition. *Official DiscussionThread*

Yeah, that's it - Will and Tara. I just finished watching it too.

Will is really immature. Not that he really deserved it, but actually ....he did. Tara's not that bad. I think at the end, she had had it with him.

The whole 'let's fake the finish line to confuse them' makes me hysterical. Will is the reason they lost the race, though sometimes I wonder if Tara did it on purpose. Maybe not knowingly, but that one little part of her...

That was season two. I wonder how things would have gone back then if they were taking money and possesions like they do now.

Don't have time to read through all the pages of new stuff, but still wanted to put my two cents in for this week....

Very sad to see the Paolos go, they were amusing ;)
Poor Linz family, missing first place by so little......those sisters are seriously grating on my nerves........and then there are the Weavers......

Let me just say, that this week solidified the reason why I can't stand them...........as it stands now I'm rooting for the Linz family, but that's only b/c all my other favorites teams are gone!

I was trying to find the ages of the Weaver girls and came across Finish Line, the Amazing Race live internet show.

Wow. They had the Paolo's on today. I kind of like the DJ kid. He even said that he was unhappy about how he behaved on tv. I totally hated this family at first but I think they really got something out of the whole experience. And having two teenage sons, I know how rough it can be sometimes.

And for the record, there was one "you better be careful or I'll hit you on the head and one .... your fricking head". Not that I think it's great that she threatens them physically...

Very interesting stuff.

For those of you here who seemed like you were disgusted by the Paolos, where is this planet you live on filled with nothing but love, butterflies, and rainbows?

.

I honestly don't know any families who's kids are allowed to talk to their parents like that. guess I live in la la land.

??? I thought that there were only 2 yields in the entire race. Can't each team only use a yield once in the race?

I just cut and pasted the Yield definition from the CBS website under Glossary. I actually thought Phil said there would only be one Yield this season. (maybe it was one Fast Forward)

They have changed so many things this year I'm just not sure anymore. Each team can only use the Yield one time, but any of the other teams could still use their Yield on the Weavers if there are any more. :confused3

I don't see why criticizing how the Weaver girls dress is any worse than talking about muffin tops and Hooters t-shirts. How they dress doesn't bother me but when you're on TV, you've got to expect comment.

As for the Paolos, they kind of grew on me too. The eldest son was too smart-mouthed but I've seen teens act like him before. It's awfully hard to punish a kid that age right in the middle of a race.

Phil said only one Fast Foward on this race. But astute viewers could see green FF envelopes during the next episode. My guess is that they edited out any mention of the 2nd FF since nobody went for it.

As for the Yield, not sure if Phil said how many there would be. There has always been a limit on how many times a team can yield someone, but there has never been a limit on how many times a team can be yielded.

Phil has never outright said how long a yield lasts, just that it lasts until the sand in the timer runs out. Theres always a chance that it is different every time and that this last time it was only 15 minutes. I don't think that the yield has ever been 3 hours though.

Will/Tara were definitely the team everyone hated back in TAR2. I can't wait to see TAR3 on GSN soon. Most people hated my favorite team (as always) to start with, Teri/Ian, but warmed up to them once it was realized how obnoxious Flo (who ends up winning of course) was.

The funny thing is that most people forget that DJ Paolo (the eldest son) is 24 years old.

That's a bummer, I hate it when people do that. That's what the word SPOILER is for!

I think the word SPOILER is used when discussing a current show, not a series that occurred several years ago.... In any event, sorry that you found out this way.

Exactly. Sucks that it happened though.

I apologize for that, but the show did air back in 2002/2003, its been in the can for a couple years now. This isn't even going to be the first time that GSN will show season 3, so I assumed that most people who wanted to have seen it by now have seen it. And I agree with others that have stated that Spoilers need to be posted for current seasons, but once the season is over, its pretty much fair game (I guess this is one downfall to being a show that has picked up much of its current audience in the last 2-4 seasons.)

Now there is a betting SPOILER (which in the past has almost always proven accurate, the winner of TAR7 was revealed early on through betting spoilers) floating around for TAR Family which reveal the winner, but to keep my own head, I'll keep it to myself.

So far they are right. I hate knowing who has won.

Yes, Spoilers can only be for current seasons. Not for re-runs.

You can always start a new thread for the particular re-run season you are watching and put in the title -no spoilers.

Can someone who knows the rumor for this season PM me, please? I hope it isn't the weavers!

Yes, but AprilGail was saying how she was watching season two in reruns--she was the one who brought it up. I assumed (correctly) that she was watching that for the first time. I think you could have given the benefit of the doubt and not said anything.
