Amazing Race All Star starts 2/23/14 Offical Thread no spoilers

We watch Shark Tank on Friday. I was hoping this didn't conflict and it appears it is on the hour prior. So it will make for a great family night.

Friday night is just another night for us. :rotfl: The change won't bother me, I'm actually kind of glad I won't have to worry about it starting late because of sporting events all the time. Grimm is another show that has always been on Friday nights and seems to be doing just fine.

Oh-oh I love Grimm. Will AR be opposite of Grimm?

That's my point. It has been very successful, so Friday is not a dead end. Now if you said Saturday night....

I don't like the move to Friday! Unless they decide to start airing recent episodes on Hulu :(

I wouldn't call Blue Bloods or Hawaii 5-0 rating bonanzas. Google their ratings and you can see they are well below average.

Generally, shows that are under performers, but not cancel worthy, are put on Friday or Saturday night.

TAR being moved scares me that it's underperforming and will meet it's demise sooner than later. We love the show. Of course, it'll be taped on Fridays because we do enjoy Friday evenings being busy rather than sitting in front of a TV.

Blue Bloods has 11.5 million viewers, Hawaii 5-0 has 9.7 million. Bonanzas, no. More than enough viewers to keep each on at least another year? Absolutely. Not being as popular wth the 18-49 demographic doesn't mean they're not working.

I'm happy with Amazing Race moving to Friday. As someone else stated - now it will start on time :).

It just means they aren't popular enough to hold coveted time slots.

I hope TAR continues, but I'm betting it's at the end of its run. I have no "insider" info, but I'm sure it want moved so it would start on time.

It really doesn't matter to my DVD what night TAR (or anything else) is on. It will continue to tape & I will continue to watch whenever, without commercials.

However, now that all TAR fans aren't recording The Good Wife to get the ending, what happens to those ratings? Rotfl

It's the old fogeys like me, who stay home on Friday nights, that those shows target. :rotfl2:

It just seems like when a show is moved to Fridays they will use the drop in ratings to justify cancelling the show.

I wasn't happy to hear this news. I get the show a day late anyway so it has nothing to do with when I personally view it. It's that moving it to Friday seems like a nail in the coffin on the show. Networks do not put their favorite shows on Friday nights, period.

This is me. I am no busier Friday night than other nights--my kids always have somewhere to be and I am the one getting them to and from, but I DVR all my TV and watch at my convenience sans commercials. The only thing I EVER watch live is sporting events and occasionally the news.

When I was a kid, Friday nights had the BEST TV! Brady Bunch, Partridge Family, Love American Style...:goodvibes

Now that you mention it, it might be fitting for the worst team to win the worst amazing race ever.

I thought that honor went to Amazing Race: Family Edition :rolleyes1

How come they didn't bring back James and Abba for All-Stars? They were awesome and only got eliminated because of a stolen passport. I read an article that they wanted to come back and race again. I would love to see them on All-Stars, I enjoy their drama-free style. :flower3:

Ahhhhhhhh, ME! My partying days are over.:hippie:
. LOL, good excuse not to go out for greasy Friday Night Fish Frys.

The Amazing Race started in the summer and was on Tuesday nights"

We watch Gold Rush on Friday Nights. IT is suppose to be one of the highest rated cable shows.
