Amazing Race All Star starts 2/23/14 Offical Thread no spoilers

I also think finding that sign from the helicopter would be difficult with all the other signs around.

Maybe I'm a cynic, but in my visits, I've never noticed helicopters hovering/flying over the strip *at all* so I'm sure AR had to get special rights to even do so (middle of the night, maybe?!?). Knowing this was probably $$$ it sure seemed as though we didn't see much of them *looking* for the signage. Maybe it was just me, I felt as though the entire episode was really, really rushed.

I think that's why I like the memory challenges, because it forces them to slow down and think, and can make it more than just a taxi driver challenge.

If it couldn't be the Afghanimals, I'm ok with Dave & Connor winning. As long as it wasn't Brendan & Rachel. At least the country singers were gracious losers and seemed genuinely happy for the winners. Brendan is just a sore loser and a sourpuss. Funny that in the leg where Rachel got the boots wrong, he blamed her. But when he had them running all over the hotel instead of checking for a clue box at the employee entrance, he pretty much said it was "our" fault, not his fault. :sad2:

Have they ever said if the rules on performing road blocks equally had been changed. Conner did 8 and Dave did 5. The other two teams were 7 and 6. There has not been a winner with more than a difference of 1 in the number of roadblocks done since Nick and Star in season 13.

They deserve each other!

I disagree with many of you about the memory puzzles; it was time for something different, they are boring to watch.

I agree with you. It was fun, spectacular, daring and different.

Nope, helicopter tours of The Strip are available from a number of companies. Maverick charges $124 per person; at least one other company is cheaper.

I'm surprised they could pick out that sign. That's a really crowded section.

Interesting question.

I wonder if seasons with Big Easy, they change the rules? I know that in 2 separate seasons, he had a heigh restriction of some kind. I think it happened again this season as he couldn't do the rappel down the rocks/water thing in some country. It does happen early enough that they can balance out challenges. However, I wonder that since the show knows ahead of time that a player will not meet the minimum requirements for any given challenge, that they relax the rules on how many one player must do.

Worst AR finale EVER. What, they spent to much $$ on the magician and the helicopter, so couldn't afford a simple memory challenge?!?

I'm sure it was expensive, but K.I.S.S. in the future, please, AR producers!

Terri

PS When they were "spirited off", DH said, "Are they taking them to the tunnels under the city where the homeless live to find the next clue box?" Shows you what he remembers from our last trip to Vegas!

What is K.I.S.S. in the future?

Mom and I were both pleased with the outcome. Both who won and the fact the Brenchels were last. The cry baby was getting on our nerves pretty badly last night. Thank goodness for bad cabbies. :rotfl:

We started with rooting for anybody but the singers. But really got turned off when they tried to steal the cab, especially as they kept saying for our baby.

Father really annoyed us when he got upset about being road blocked but last couple of weeks newlyweds really bothered us.

I was hoping that all the teams would have yelled "We Know" when Phil said that Connor was the oldest winner.

I will admit that I didn't/don't like Dave & Conner. I really didn't like ANY of the 3 teams left and should have stopped watching when the cowboys left. I will never get those hours of my life back..... I didn't enjoy the race this year, I don't think any of the challenges were particularly difficult or involved. There weren't any big surprises or drama, it was all sort of uneventful for me. So, I agree with a PP who is just glad it's over & we can move on. From the first leg on the Ferris Wheel thing to the last sky dive, there just weren't places to change up the order: pick the wrong car on the wheel, well your out, get the 2nd copter, sorry you lose.

But, am I the only one that thought Dave/Conner were hypocritical telling the Brenchals to play fair with the dirt at the opening thenb illegally passing the Country Girls taxi on what appeared to be a single lane road. Then they have the gall to tell the girls if we couldn't win, we wanted you to. I didn't like the winner, but I have gotten used to that with TAR.

Oh Dear God. The girls are doing some Country event for the city of Nashville and going on a singing tour.

And Brenchal is getting their own TV show.

MAKE IT STOP!!! MAKE IT STOP!!!

Ugh, I really hope they're not getting their own TV show. Who would watch it?

I don't think that says a lot. If they came in second to Brendan and Rachel, I doubt that they would have been gracious losers.
