Yup - that was the annoying Flo! So at least one of the annoying teams is gone already!

So - since I didn't show up on the Disboard team totals - I guess I didn't get any points this week? Maybe there's too many of us, & they only show the top 20 (or so?) For the life of me, I couldn't remember all the questions - I kinda wanted to check on what I guessed! Is there a way to check on that?

Julie, since you didn't show up in the totals, try clicking here to join our league. Maybe it didn't register you with us the first time. The DISBoards is at the bottom under "Private Leagues".

I know when I click on DISBoards and it shows each of our totals, I can click on my name and see my answers for each week.

Even though I didn't like Alison, I was shocked they were eliminated so early in the game. I really thought when they came in last, it would turn out to be a non-elimination round just to keep them in the game.

I was also confused by the whole money exchange situation between the F/D team and the moms. The father seems convinced that the moms duped them, but with editing who knows what really happened. The moms don't seem like they would purposely tell them something to get an advantage, especially considering the mom team was in a great position, 3rd I believe. I'm wondering if maybe the mom team really thought they had to exchange the money and then found out later they didn't have to, but just didn't get the opportunity to tell the F/D team and they just edited it to look like the mom team purposely didn't tell them. I hope next week they show what happened, since it was made to be a big deal this week.

I remember one of the other teams asking a cab driver if he took American money and he said yes. Maybe this was a topic of conversation on the ferry and the father/daughter team decided to act upon it, then when finding out that having money converted was not necessary, felt duped.

I don't consider Charla/Mirna asking help to have bags carried any different than the twins asking someone for directions and getting led to all the checkpoints. I think that you are on your own when there are no specific directions on how a task is to be carried out. I think that if they couldn't get locals to help out, it would be stated on the card, just like you have to walk to a certain location or a bus or taxi may only be used. Charla/Mirna are just benefiting from Mirna's small stature. The twins said last night that they will flirt to get ahead, so what is the difference?

I think that its great that the father's opinion seems to be changing about his daughter.

I think that one of the reasons I enjoy this show so much is seeing different parts of the world and learning about them.

Kirby, I agree with you about Charla/Mirna. It is no different than the twins admitting that they'd flirt to get ahead.

IMO, you gotta do what you gotta do to get ahead in this race and as long as the rules don't specifically prohibit it, then no harm no foul!

Can I use anymore cliches in this post?

I see what you're saying about Charla/Mirna using her size & the twins using flirting. The thing that bugs me about Charla & Mirna is they say they are independent, they can do it themselves & people just think they cannot so they offer help. The truth is, they go up to people & say "she cannot do this, please help us". Don't claim to be super-independent ladies that can do anything if you are going to turn around & act like damsels in distress. JMHO.

I'm another one who is so glad to see Donny and Alison GONE! I wonder if they're still together or not. It definitely is not a healthy relationship. Has anyone else in the AR ever gone from first to last in one leg of the race??

I'm glad I'm not the only one who was confused about the money exchange part. That was really lousy of the moms to do. I really like the dad and daughter.

I really don't have a favorite yet but at least my least favorites are gone!


I can't wait to see where they go this season!!

Love, Love, Love this show. I am SO glad Alison and Donny were eliminated. I'm sorry, but she is a major you know what!! He's not so great to her either, but at least he relized maybe they shouldn't be together.
Charla and Mirna still bug me, mostly Mirna. She's so annoying. I really like the father/daughter team and I also think the bowling moms are funny. That was weird that they didn't show the part about the bowling moms telling the dad/daughter about the money exchange thing. Usually when one team says another team did something, they show both sides.
Can't wait for next week!!

Ok now that Alison is gone (I did not mind Donny I felt bad for him) my new least favorite team is/are the brothers. I hated when they were asking some kids outside the club a question and the kids did not know where the place was. "They were nothing but useless foreigners" they said! Ummm.. no, excuse me you are in THEIR country YOU are the foreigner! Then when doing the bull task (getting the red bandana off) the one that does it said "I don't know about this I am not too keen on running." This is the Amazing RACE did you not think you may be RUNNING at some point.

IMO I dont think Chip did anything wrong. He just played with good strategy. Neither one of them was going to budge until another cab came. It kept them on a level playing field. Im sure in the same scenario the twins would have done it too. If Chip would have let them go by being nice they could have been elimated just like the first team. Its a competition not to make friends and look like the good guy.

Charla and Mirna on the other hand. I dont know about anyone else but I will sure be glad when they leave a spanish speaking country. They seem to know it pretty well and just plain annoy me when they speak it!

I was thinking the same thing but then thought, maybe they can't fit 4 and a camera man in the cab.

You're right, Stacey. I totally forgot about those camera men.

The racers travel with both a camera man and a sound man. So each team is really a pack of 4.

I remember last year when two teams took a cab together in Korea. I think it was the clowns and the two slacker-type guys. They were going to the north where they had to swim under the ice in a frozen river. It was kind of a minivan, but the racers were really smushed in there. It was like a three hour cab ride, and they were in tough shape when they finally arrived.

When they were getting down to the last few teams, Phil voice-overed something like "the last team to arrive on the mat may be eliminated." I told DW that was a dead giveaway that it wasn't an elimination round. Every other time he says that the last team will be eliminated.

I was totally wrong. I may be over-thinking this show a little.

Honestly, there's not a team I'm really that fond of at this point. Kinda like the older black couple...can't stand the twins...Like the brothers (I think their sarcasm is being missed by a few people on this thread...JMO)...Like the old man and his daughter....Love the bowling moms (probably my favorite at this point).

Speaking of which...the quote of the series so far has to go to the moms last night: "All right ! You outsmarted a cow !!!"

I am SO SO SO glad Allison and Donny are gone. The whining she did made me , esp when they got to the dog walker thingie. And to think the bowling moms just blindly followed along behind the airhead and her idiot boyfriend boggled my mind. It's a miracle they're still in the race!

I guess I'm in the minority here because I like Charla and Myrna. Their personalities are a little over the top but they have fun with what they are doing. Why is using their size to their advantage any different than what we have seen teams do in the past? I do take offence to them being called the midget team. That's just ignorant and mean.

The bowling moms are my favorite!

How did you like what the brothers said about stupid foreigners. Duh! You are the foreigners! They get on my nerves.

If Allison and Donny hadn't been eliminated it would have really ruined this show for me. I couldn't stand hearing her whinning screach any longer.
