Amazing Race 11 - All Stars (begins 2/18/07)

It was sure great to see some of my old favorites again! Especially Danny and Oswald, who were as funny as ever. I loved when Oswald said that Rob and Amber have their own cable channel. And when Danny said that they knew who Rob and Amber were "because we live on Planet Earth."

I was sorry to see J and JV go tonight. I really liked them on season three. I liked the way they raced, because they stayed out of all the BS and inter-team fighting, and just raced. Too bad. I would have preferred to see one of the more recent teams leave instead.

And Terri and Ian mostly haven't changed since season three. They are just as obnoxious as they were before. I'm sure that life at their house is just a laugh riot. Well, one thing has changed, because it looks like Terri spent their second place money on Botox injections.

We are rooting for Rob & Amber as well! I do not know anything about the teams from the first couple of seasons. We started watching when R & A were first on, then we were hooked!

Thanks for the posts. I came here quick to see the results since I knew CBS wouldn't be updated til tomorrow.

BTW, I enjoy Romber....they are fun to watch.

This is why I always program my Tivo to record for an extra 30 minutes!

I am so disappointed, once the show started i noticed it was running late so I went into season pass and set it to tape AR 1/2hour longer, Note: IF YOU CHANGE ANYTHING TO SEASON PASS AND THE SHOW IS ON, IT STOPS RECORDING AND DELETES WHAT WAS ALREADY DONE. UGH!!! WE MISSED THE FIRST 1/2HOUR. I was so sad

That's one of the reasons I like them. They went on the show. They won then they went on with their lives. They have not spent the last few years milking it for all that it's worth. They actually give you a chance to miss them and wonder what they are up to.

If anyone is interested, you can go to www.cbs.com/innertube for a short video of JV & J arriving at "Elimination Station". You get to see the house where the eliminated teams will stay. Apparently this is supposed to be a weekly feature and the vid is supposed to be posted sometime around midnight after each leg of the race.

Well, I am disappointed to see John Vito and Jill go. I would have liked to see more of them. Oh well.

Kevin and Drew sure had a very rough start. I hope luck starts changing for them. To me though it didn't really look like they really wanted to be there

I know!! Why was it on later tonight? There was no football! They will probably suffer in the ratings because they are on later!!

I wish the show would be on at 8:00 on a weeknight instead.

DH is from Ecuador and was so excited to watch the show last night. We have been to those places and it was very strange to see the show there because it's such a remote area.

You can really tell the show loves Romber because they showed them switching tasks and doing the entire task, but they didn't show as much of anyone else. Or is it my imagination?

I, too, was majorly ticked off that I had to watch a segment on Kenny Chesney on 60 Minutes so I wouldn't miss any of the show This better not be a weekly thing

What a good episode! Can't wait till next week. I'm still bummed BJ and Tyler aren't in this edition. I'm also po'ed that they combined a frat guy with Dani from season 9. I think that is a big cop out. I'm sure there were past AR teams that would have loved to have been part of this show. I would have been happier if they had taken half of one of the Family edition teams. At least they would have been represented in All Stars.

I went into "Now Playing" and changed the recording options while it was recording, and still had the first part of the show. Try that next time.

Did you check your "Recently Deleted" folder in "Now Playing?" The part that got deleted might be there.

As staged as it was...I know Romber got a call from their agent asking if they were interested only 2 weeks before they were going to do it. This was on the Rob & Amber: Against All Odds show they did where Rob tried to become a professional poker player.

I think the call was "staged" in that it was coincidentally on their last night in Vegas---while celebrating with Champagne in the hot tub---AFTER they made their decision that they would relocate to Vegas to make this the "real deal" in Rob's professional poker pursuit.

In any case--the long of the short of it....I don't know what the lead time was for contact..but not everyone on short notice can just drop everything to be on the show. So that might have had a hand in why we aren't seeing some of the "favorites" from seasons past.



And I thought I hated basketball before..I really hate it now--I didn't even get to see a single challenge. I thought with football season over, that we were in the clear.

The ones I'd be thrilled to see gone:

1 - Sharla & Mirna
2 - Kentucky (she's already on my nerves)

I figured Rob and Amber would get the first prize. We'll see how keep the streak going, but I suspect it will be a couple more weeks.

Can't stand KY or Mirna. Hope either go quick so I can enjoy the rest. I like every other team in the race. Even Guido and the older couple seem to have seen how badly they came off last season and have toned things down.

CAn someone share how the roadblocks and detours were?

And how JV and Jill got to the end of the pack.

I fully suspect that the coalminer couple or Drew and what's his name woudl have been at the end...so surprised to see a team that seemed healthy and fit and not so aloof to be stuck at the end. Also Drew and his teammate aren't all that fit--his teammate had the knee that swelled up like a watermelon at the pyramids and they couldn't even finish (first team in history to "quit", I believe). I wonder if something similar will happen this season or if his knee will hold up to avoid last place.

Also were Uchenna and Joyce passive through the whole show--they seemed to be at the back of the pack a bit....were they this way the season they won?

I agree with you completly. I even commented to my husband how great it would be not to mess with the TIVO this year (we tape too many shows on a Sunday night that it is a pain to have it set up to tape 30 minutes longer) and then we got hosed last night because of basketball. Lesson learned. I HATE basketball even more now too.

This is my first AR and I really liked the show last night. Im just going to have to watch a couple more shows to get more of a feel of the couples.
