Amazing Race 11 - All Stars (begins 2/18/07)

I dasagree. Rob and Amber should go away. They are scheisty and bring down AR. People don't say "enough" about Brad Pitt or Ryan Seacrest because they have talent and are good at what they do. Rob and Amber may be smart but that does not make them interesting. I'm sure many, many teams have thought to play like R & A but choose not too, because they are trying to win their own race, not mess up someone elses. I think R & A bring a level of shadiness and back stabbing to A & R that doesn't need to be there. What was an interesting show about people racing around the world will be turned into a survivor rip off. I hope they get eliminated early so I can watch, but since they will just screw everyone to get what they want, I doubt it will happen. There is a fine line between outwitting and screwing. Outwitting would involve finding their own better way- I have yet to see that from them.

I don't know what you were watching when TAR 7 was on, but they "outwitted" better than anybody ever has, before or since! They are really, really good racers and I think everybody around them steps up their game just because they are competing against them! In terms of shady or backstabbing play, I didn't see them do or say anything that was unlike what other players have done in every other season. I just watched their video on the cbs site (as well as Uchnenna & Joyce, Mary & David, and Dustin & Kandace). I think they are all going to be tremendous racers and I can't wait to see this season! I sincerely hope that Rob and Amber win it this time. I only wish they were in EVERY season!

:confused3 :confused3

ILike them or not, Rob and Amber make good reality tv. Most, I would say almost all, reality tv stars should know when their 15 minutes is up. Rob and Amber are one of the few that stand out as entertaining. They are great competitors, they are smart, and funny. A producers dream. Throw in the fact that they are controversial, and it's a slam dunk. Rob and Amber are not going away. They have a huge fanbase. I know my boss only watched AR when they were on it because they were on it. He hasn't watched AR since, but he will be watching the All Star season, because they are on it.

This sounds like me! The one and only time I watched AR was when Rob and Amber were on. I was dispointed that they didn't win, but it was fun watching. Rob is an awesome competitor!

I am not thrilled at all with this cast. Absolutely none of my favorite teams from any season are on. Not to mention that there are about 4 or 5 of my least favorite teams. Needless to say, I am disappointed. I was so excited for there to be an All-Star season, but this was not what I was expecting. :sad2:

Same here. I think it is a cop out having Eric and Danielle pair up. I want to see original teams paired together not mish mashes of people that have hooked up. I don't think Danielle is an all-star at all.
The only teams I'm excited to see is Eric and Drew from Season 1 and Team Cha Cha Cha from Season two.
I hate that BJ and Tyler, Kris and John, Nancy and Emily and Bowling Moms were excluded. I don't know, maybe they just didn't want to do it. I really wish CBS would have asked the audience who they wanted in All-Stars. Just like they did on Big Brother this past season. I can't stand Team Kentucky. I don't think they are close to being all-stars. Seems like the majority of teams they picked are going to be annoying.

I'd say Team Kentucky are All-Stars. They got very famous for being on this show, and I think they deserved it. :cool1:

I remember my sister calling me upset because they were "cheating". (in reference to when Rob couldn't eat the meat, so he figured out how to take the penalty without getting the pitstop last) I just laughed and said he was NOT cheating! Everything he did was within the rules of the game, it is just nobody before him ever thought to play like that. I mean, it is a game for a MILLION dollars! You can't play nice and expect to win. Sure, some nice teams have won, but they were not nice 100% of the time, and that is how they got to the end, by "screwing" some team at some point.

Subscribing and looking forward towatching. You can get a picture of Realitytvworld.com for those who's asking. To be honest, I don't recall every's name, but I haven't really watched the last one much.

Glad Rob and Amber are in it -- THEY MAKE GOOD TV!!!!

Glad for Kevin and Drew and Team Guido.

Who is Team CHa, cha??? are they the gay friends who are hispanic?

Too bad the hippies are not in it.

Oh we quote Colin all the time.(at least I think it was Colin) Was he the one in the mud pit saying in a strained voice" Oh my God I hate you...." then he proposes on the mat!!!
My favorite Colin moment was when they were being detained by the police in Africa because they wouldn't pay the cab driver or something. He actually said "Hakuna Matata", when everything was worked out. :rotfl:
Ryan Seacrest has talent?
Well at least he's attractive. :cool2:

I agree. They are just sleazy and can't play thier own game. They're playing games within the game just to screw with people.
I hope Rob and Amber win....they were robbed last time....who has ever heard of a plane opening it's doors to let someone on after they have shut
This actually happens all the time on AR. The producers can't have a race that's completely obvious who will win.

Same here. I think it is a cop out having Eric and Danielle pair up..
Yeah, what's up with that? Did anyone particularly like either of them or their teams? They couldn't find ANY other actual team to participate? :confused3

Not really looking forward to this season. I'm really disappointed as this has been my favorite show from it's creation.

One of the most brilliant moves in the history of AR. He convinced other teams not to do the challenge also.

So are Uchenna and Joyce the only ones coming back that actually won the race?

While the all winners or all runners up concept sounds interesting to me, especially since if it was all winners that means my favorite team would be back (Yea Hippies), I bet it never happens.

What if there was no team people love to hate, or no nice to look at team, or the underdog team etc? You know it's about personalities and casting choices as much as anything.

Guess I might as well weigh in on my feelings about Romber too since it looks like it's going to be a hot topic. I couldn't stand Rob on the first Survivor - really disliked the guy, Blech! But I liked team Romber on AR, so I'm glad they're back.

I'm pretty neutral about them..I still think season one of TAR is the best so I'm excited about Kevin and Drew and Team Guido

All I have to say is:

"SWING YOU FAT B-ST--D!" :lmao:

I agree. if he hadn't been so persuasive, they would have been out that night, because no way could he have eaten it.

I especially loved it because i hate what they have done to the eating challenges. it used to be, "eat a normal amount of an unusual food that the country they are in loves, even though it looks heinous to a typical american." then it seemed to evolve into, "eat an insane amount, intended to be as revolting as possible." I don't watch fear factor for a reason, folks, I don't want to see that. so when rob outsmarted them, I was cheering. literally, cheering.

I have never, ever seen this happen in the game before or since, and I have watched TAR from the beginning. the plane had shut its doors...never has happened before. and wasn't it even pulling away from the gate? rob and amber were absolutely robbed.

It's discussed all the time on this board. :confused3 I can't think of any specific examples right now, but many times we have discussed whether or not the producers held a plane for a team. Or in some other way stepped in to get a team on a plane when they were originally told no.

the only thing I've seen even close is when they had stopped boarding, but the plane doors were not actually closed. and the plane never was brought back like it was when rob and amber were screwed.

ITA Loved watching Rob get himself out of that one. :rotfl2:

The fear factor type of really disgusting food/bug tasks bother me as well.

That said I think the final find a taxi thing last time was awful as well. Granted I'm sure it would have been more difficult getting a cab to take them that far out of the city limits IF they were not traveling with a camera crew... but come on. That was bad. And even if it had been difficult, it would have been more about luck than skill or determination. Not what I want to see for the last challenge.
:confused3

Along those lines: they better send the all stars to some pretty out of the way places so they don't get recognized everywhere they go.

I really don't understand the hatred for Rob and Amber. They were great competitors and made for a very entertaining season. His eating challenge ploy was truly brilliant. They never cheated and they really supported each other as a team without screaming and worked together. It was also the only time a plane had actually left the gate and then they brought it back. That was a little unfair, I thought. I'd love to see them win it.

I'm really glad team Cha Cha is back - they were so adorable.

The only team I wish wasn't coming back is Uchenna and Joyce. Personally, I don't think they should have brought back any actual winners.

I totally beleive that Rob and Amber were robbed...Pulling back a plane, I have never heard of or seen it since.

I will be rooting for Romber and the Beauty Queens...I love a team that "PLAYS" the game not just runs the race.

Ditto.

I also remember the whole car accident issue and people freaking out that Rob and Amber didnt stop to help. It shocks me to this day that people didn't accept that the footage they were seeing was being recorded by people already taking control of the situation. Rob and Amber knew this and kept running the race. :confused3
