Amazing Race 11 - All Stars (begins 2/18/07)

I said this before in the earlier thread about the All Stars. I don't understand why people think Rob and Amber need to go home and stay there.

When Brad Pitt makes another movie, do people say enough is enough? Ryan Seacrest has 5 million jobs, do people say he should go home?

Like them or not, Rob and Amber make good reality tv. Most, I would say almost all, reality tv stars should know when their 15 minutes is up. Rob and Amber are one of the few that stand out as entertaining. They are great competitors, they are smart, and funny. A producers dream. Throw in the fact that they are controversial, and it's a slam dunk. Rob and Amber are not going away. They have a huge fanbase. I know my boss only watched AR when they were on it because they were on it. He hasn't watched AR since, but he will be watching the All Star season, because they are on it.

I hated Rob on his 1st season of Survivor. I had no opinion on Amber, other than she was a Jerri-wannabe. I hated them BOTH on Survivor All Star. I came to love them on AR because I actually got to see how incredibly smart they are. NO TEAM had ever played the game like they did. They never thought to. Shows like this is Rob's talent. Yes, it is a talent to outwit like he does.

I agree, I love to watch Rob and Amber. They work well together.

I total LOVED Drew and Kevin though, I thought they were just the best. I also loved watching Uchenna and Joyce, I cried along with her when she was getting her head shaved. I could live without seeing Team Guido again though, they were bad sports the first time around and Charla and Mirna, only because I hated the way Mirna treated Charla and how Charla let Mirna treat her. I do, however, like Charla, she's got spunk!

I think it will be interesting to see how teams like Myrna and Charla act towards one another now that they've seen themselves on TV. Will they be the same or will they modify their behavior.

I guess I am the only one here who really LOVES watching Romber...They play hard and I love that.

Nope, you're not alone. I'm also a fan of Rob and Amber. They are very good players and they work together well.

nope, I said it before, I love rob and amber. I like dustin/candice for the same reasons...they actually play the game, and they treat each other well and with respect. I find it amazing that fan favorites tend to be people who can't find their way out of a paper bag sometimes. lol.

I do wish Kris and Jon were on board, too.

I am not thrilled at all with this cast. Absolutely none of my favorite teams from any season are on. Not to mention that there are about 4 or 5 of my least favorite teams. Needless to say, I am disappointed. I was so excited for there to be an All-Star season, but this was not what I was expecting.

I completely agree with you! Like you, Rob was not my favourite on his first season of Survivor, but he grew on me in the second, and I adored them both in TAR. These are just ordinary people with an extraordinary talent for reality shows! Anyone who thinks Amber is just following Rob, however, is not watching close enough. He takes all the flack, but she very heavily influences their decisions. He discusses everything with her, and they make decisions together. I only started watching TAR because of them, and now I watch every season. I can't wait for All Stars!

Kevin and Drew!!!!! LOVE THEM!!! Next to the Hippies they are my favorite team. Glad to see them back in action.

I also like Joyce and Urchena too.

I wondered the same.

I'm not familiar with some of the teams, but I specifically remember that Myrna came across as pretty abrasive.


With the wide variance in posts about 'they're one of my favorites' / 'oh no not them again' it looks like we could be in for some interesting discussions here as well.

I am so happy to see them back!! I'll be there cheerleader even though I can't do flips or splits!! They are so entertaining. I love them!!

I hope Joyce and Urchena (yuck!) don't last the first leg! They should have never been brought back because they already won the money.

You know the producer should have either brought back all the winners to race against each other or the second place players to race! Now that would make a good season IMO!

I dasagree. Rob and Amber should go away. They are scheisty and bring down AR. People don't say "enough" about Brad Pitt or Ryan Seacrest because they have talent and are good at what they do. Rob and Amber may be smart but that does not make them interesting. I'm sure many, many teams have thought to play like R & A but choose not too, because they are trying to win their own race, not mess up someone elses. I think R & A bring a level of shadiness and back stabbing to A & R that doesn't need to be there. What was an interesting show about people racing around the world will be turned into a survivor rip off. I hope they get eliminated early so I can watch, but since they will just screw everyone to get what they want, I doubt it will happen. There is a fine line between outwitting and screwing. Outwitting would involve finding their own better way- I have yet to see that from them.

I also love Rob and Amber.....I think I'll enjoy this season much more then last. It was sort of flat last season.

I hope Rob and Amber win....they were robbed last time....who has ever heard of a plane opening it's doors to let someone on after they have shut......

While the all winners or all runners up concept sounds interesting to me, especially since if it was all winners that means my favorite team would be back (Yea Hippies), I bet it never happens.

What if there was no team people love to hate, or no nice to look at team, or the underdog team etc? You know it's about personalities and casting choices as much as anything.

Guess I might as well weigh in on my feelings about Romber too since it looks like it's going to be a hot topic. I couldn't stand Rob on the first Survivor - really disliked the guy, Blech! But I liked team Romber on AR, so I'm glad they're back.
