amazing Amanda???

My daughter really wants this doll but she also wants baby alive. I am not to eager to buy the baby alive because she actuallys needs her diaper changed and that cost money!! But the amazing amanda is $100.

Does anyone have the amazing amanda and is she worth the money?

I had looked into this last year when it first came out for my DD. On Amazon they had really bad reviews of it. Mainly saying that a lot of kids got frustrated cause the doll didn't understand what they were saying to it. Don't know if it's gotten better. I don't know if the reviews are still on Amazon or if they're on Toys R Us's new website - I looked before they separated.

I'm not usually one to give bad marks out to toys, but Amazing Amanda...UGH...let's just say this was on the top of my daughters list last year, so of course Santa brought it. Where is it now? I couldn't tell you. After the first couple of days my daughter complained that it was annoying, and she got turned off, and has been since. The $4 littlest pet shops that she likes now get way more attention than Amanda ever did!

Not to mention that her eyelashes fell off right after we took her out of the box...that makes for one creepy doll!

Thanks for the reviews. I have read the ones on the toys r us website and they are all good but I feel better getting the reviews from here. I am glad to know that it is not good and I do not have to feel to guilty about not buying it.

I bought one for my niece when they first came out. I think I bought it for $75 at that time. Her father reported back to me several months later that it was a bust. The doll was limited in what it said and she didn't play with it much. Now, for $75 I was expecting more out of it. What a joke!

Amazing Amanda was a nightmare...it was just so creepy! My DD decided that she wanted to exchange it for a Doodle Bear!

WE have two of them ..The twins hardly played with them they are still brand new looking...Not a huge hit..My kdis call her annoying amanda...I have two if you are interested in trading one or buying one from me for cheap/////

DD wanted one for Christmas last year but Santa did not bring it. Her big gift last year was a karaoke machine (which she actually plays with). After Christmas, my DH went to Walmart and bought her one on clearance for $75! I could not believe that he did that. Needless to say, she played with it for a whole 2 days and then put it under her bed because she did not like it.

This year she is asking for Amazing Allysen. There is no way I would spend that much money on another doll.

Is this the doll that starts out like a baby and then grows into a toddler? My dd saw it in the sears wishbook and now is asking for it. I'm not getting it for her because she doesn't play with her other dolls.

I totally agree - a big waste of money. I bought one for my grandaughter and I was ready to smack it after a half hour of trying to program it. Bought it for Christmas last year and she hasn't played with it since.

Santa brought Amazing Amanda last year and we had to return it for a new one. The second one was a bust too. At first I thought the 1st doll was broken but then I realized it was just too difficult to program. It was frustrating for my daughter b/c the doll couldn't understand her.

Ugh!!! Amazing Amanda is buried at the bottom of the toy box!! My MIL bought it for my dd for Christmas last year because she asked her for it! I flipped when I found out! Apparently my MIL didn't realize that it was $100 until she was checking out,but already told her she would get her the doll, so she went ahead and paid for it.

It has many neat accessories, but she is ANNOYING!!!!!!!!!!! You have to set the time, and you choose what time she wakes up, goes to bed etc, and we couldn't figure out how to stop this on the weekends, so there was no sleeping late for us!!!

She is now shut off........
(I've commited Dolly murder!!!)

We had to have Scamps the furreal dog...what a joke. Broke the day after christmas and waited 6 weeks for a 'replacement' which broke within the week.
