I'd also like to welcome you to our ever growing group!! This Alaskan cruise will be my boyfriend's and I first cruise ever, and we are really excited!! If you have any questions about anything, please ask! I may not have gone on a cruise yet, but I've been lurking on this site long enough to pretty much know the ins and outs of ALMOST everything lol. Glad to have you with the group!

Sorry to report we are cancelled for this cruise. We had a bunch of 2012 plans and just cannot do them all. Our friends that were cruising with us decided not to do this cruise and we will wait and do Alaska with them some other time.

I feel bad after starting this thread and being so excited but we are still going on the Fantasy in June and we can't do it all.

This was such a nice group of people though! Good luck on your cruise! I am sure you are going to have a wonderful time!!!!

This will be my second Alaska cruise with Disney. Last year was amazing! It was the best vacation we have ever taken and we can't wait to go again! Once again we will be creating our own "land and sea" package and will be going to stay at the Quileute Oceanside Resort after.
FYI...the railroad excursion was not well received last year. While the ride was nice, many people disliked the fact that they couldn't get out to take pictures and report it was very difficult keeping kids still for that length of time. We used an outside service who took us on a minibus up the mountain. They stopped many times, including at the very top of the mountain and next to the waterfall!

Hi everyone. We are a family of 4 joining this cruise - our very first! It will be me, my husband, and our DD and DS (twins who will be just a couple of weeks shy of their 3rd birthday when we set sail).

We've got a lot of celebrations wrapped into this cruise - it starts on my birthday, the 29th is our anniversary, and it's the last week of my husband's well-earned sabbatical (we are spending the first week of his sabbatical at the Aulani). To say we're excited is the understatement of the century.

Please count us in on the fish extenders. I'm still a little fuzzy on how all the details work, but I think it will be so much fun for the kids!

Welcome! Fish extenders are so fun...it's like christmas every day! The fish extender is like a pocket hanger that hangs from the fish clip outside your room. You can make your own or buy one from ebay or etsy.com. People in you group give you small gifts and you do the same. It's up to you how involved you want to be. Some people give little goody bags to every person in the room, some do one family gift. Some give out their stuff all on one day, others give a little out each day. (On a 7 day cruise each day was too much, so I did every other day). People give candy, trinkets, disney toys, etc. Light up wands and pirate gear is popular. I love to give gifts unique to my hometown (New Orleans)...if only I could fit 30 king cakes in my suitcase! My favorite gifts were items I could use at home that remind me of my trip. Last year I got note pads, bags and magnets with our cruise info on it. I still use them today!

Thanks, Jeanne! I'm assuming as we get closer to the cruise someone volunteers to organize all the names and cabin numbers, etc. and other logistics. It sounds like a lot of fun!

Not sure how many of you are looking at or have to book hotel reservations for the night before in Seattle but we found a good deal.
It is at the Double Tree Seattle and they have a special for cruising and for trasnporting to the pier. The cost for us would be 212.44 with taxes. Again that includes transportation with the Seattle Express to and from Port, 1 night stay with a King Bed, and parking for 8 days.
I thought that I would share for anyone who was interested.

Ok, so Im going to need some info for an FE gift I am making. Since there are only a small number of families/couples in our group so far, I can get away with making it lol. I need a list from each family/couple of everyone's favorite disney character and color. If possiable, I would also like to get a ballpark figure on the number of luggage each person in your family is bringing on the cruise. Im making something for everyone to use with their luggage. Thank you to those who have already given me this info on our Facebook page. I look forward to hearing from everyone else! Again, thanks for putting up with my crazy request!
