Okay, I will readily admit I don't know every single thing there is to know about everything Disney---but I'm working on it! ;)

I'll even sometimes post with the caveat, that I think this is how it is. This was our experience. I've heard that... I think I read somewhere... Please correct me if I'm wrong, but...

But I'm AMAZED at how much I read, especially on Facebook groups, from people who are stating things as absolute fact that are blatantly wrong! I feel sorry for people who haven't done their research and are using these sites and groups to make plans on.

Over the past several weeks, some of the things I've heard....

Chef Mickey's is a 2-credit meal.
None of the Value Resorts have refrigerators in them.
There are buses that run from DTD to each of the parks.
An FP guarantees you'll never wait more than 15 minutes.
The fourth FP program has already started and you can get more than 3 now.
Resort guests can use any of the pools.
You can make ADRs for quick service meals too.

And this isn't even the bits and pieces you overhear in the parks, on the buses, etc. This is from people giving advice on boards where people are looking for information to plan their trips!

What things have you read or heard?

My Dr told me he would write us a letter so we can get front of the line at every ride. This was after I told him we were going to WDW. My daughter had a disability and I am sure other families have asked for a letter like this.

I've heard some too, these are the ones from last trip in 2012...

Hotel key card is your FP, with guaranteed front of the line access! and she argued with me when I tried to explain FP/kiosks...

Also, Spaceship Earth is a water ride!

I guess we all started with some inaccurate ideas about what was what at WDW!

I don't know whether or not Disney is taking Dr notes to get in front of the line any more due to the other people taking advantage of the system. I'm not so sure they will work or not, just don't keep your hope up that the notes from Drs will work... due to the fact some dr's will do whatever their patient asks them to do....

Can't tell you how many places I've seen the "great" advice to save on parking by parking free at DTD.

Oh, my! It would take an hour and a half to ride a bus from DTD to a hotel then another from hotel to park. That's just to get to the park. You get to do it all again when you leave.

Yes, I understand it's a fairly recent thing, so I would have cut them some slack. But they were arguing that they had been there very recently and it was still true.

Well up to like 5 or so months ago there weren't any fridges because of the recall so they may have been during that time.

Okay, sorry I didn't put every detail in my post. :confused3

This person claimed that no rooms at values had refrigerators. They had stayed several times in the past year and not one time was there a refrigerator in any of the rooms. When they asked about it, they were told no values ever had refrigerators. And were told the only way to get a fridge was to pay extra for it. Now, I know this was how it was years ago, but they were claiming this JUST happened. And even when many people responded that it wasn't true, they stuck to their guns and insisted that it was still true today because they had just gotten back from their latest trip.

I'm all for giving the benefit of the doubt, but I think this one was pretty clear!

No it wasn't

I stayed at values a few times in 2012 and always had a fridge

Ah, I was a year off. Before you were there in 2012, and it only started midway through that year, you could only get a fridge at a value if you paid for it, brought it, or were involved in a fridge swap on a website like the dis.

Oh wait, or if you had a medical need for a fridge.

So midway through 2012 they started adding them.

Then there was a fire caused by a fridge at Grand Californian, and they got rid of all of those types of fridges, and slowly slowly replaced them.

That fire/recall got in my way.

The thing I said was true a year ago...was true 2 years ago*. Better.

*unless a person went during the time that the fridges were gone and slowly being replaced. :)

A doctor's note was/is never required for guests with disabilities to get assistance. Some people brought notes anyway bc they thought they were needed but the CMs at Guest Services won't even look at them. A doctor's note could be easily forged by anyone. What the guest needs to do is describe what their needs are. The original GAC program was abused and Disney recently changed it because it was unsustainable in its old form. It is not a "front of the line" pass.

This is actually apparently true, and if you wait more than 15 mins (I actually think its 10, if The HUB was around he has noted this for sure) and you ask a CM, they are supposed to give you an anytime FP as compensation.

I amazed that there's not far more misinformation. Take one of the simple subjects above and call the phone CMs five times and see how many different responses you get.

There was a woman on a FB group SWEARING that bell services (NOT Magical Express, plain bell services) would be happy to put your stuff in your room as soon as the room is available, without you being there. Umm...no. She KNEW for a FACT they would, because she had done it. ::yes::

Maybe they just weren't smart enough to open the cabinet door so therefore never saw the refrigerator. :rotfl2:

Um, as I've stated on a few threads, the bold one is true. Not because I heard a friend of my neighbor's cousin tell their dog, but because I've actually been there and had a higher up (as in they wear their own clothes, not a company provided uniform) tell us. It just can't be booked until after your first 3 are done, can only be booked on a park kiosk (not the MDX app), and can only be used at the park where your first 3 of the day are.
