Amanda's Menu Planning Spectacular!

Hi Amanda,

You sound really excited about the travel agent idea. Good for you. I think it is a great idea. You could work from home, make some $, and when the time is right, have a baby. That is awesome. I also think you are being really responsible keeping up with your current job until the travel agent thing works out. Looks like you have really thought this trough.

I wish you luck, and I am sure you will be a success.

How did your alterations go? We have a wedding this weekend as well. Glad we don't have the pressure of standing up. It is fun though but extra pressure. Have a nice time at the wedding.

I am kinda sad today. DH and I got into a pretty heated discussion last night in regards to me doing a part time job - so I am putting that one back on the shelf for a little while. But I still really want to do it.

Because of our "discussion" I had a major meltdown with a chocolate shake. I know it was stupid and I knew I was hurting myself just by doing it. I need to get my butt in gear and take this more seriously. I have a rehersal dinner on Thursday and 2 weddings this weekend and I don't want to feel like a huge fat cow. I am drinking my water and I am going to be under 30 carbs today and for the rest of the week. I am also going to go for a walk tonight after work.

Menu plan for today:
B: Ham and Cheese Omelet - 3.5 carbs
S: Coffee - 5 carbs
L: Leftover Chicken Paremesean and Salad - 7 carbs
S: String Cheese - 2 carbs
D: Not sure - leftovers of something or Tuna Salad.
S: Sugar Free Jello w/Whip Cream

Exercise - 1 mile walk
Water - I want to drink 8 glasses

:wave2: Hi Amanda,
Sounds like you are in for a busy but fun week ::yes:: . Enjoy the weddings and the rehearsal dinner. Hope you have a great day :sunny: !

Hi Amanda!

I'm sending lots of hugs and good wishes your way with hopes that soon your spirits will be lifted. :goodvibes I too, had a...ahem..."discussion" with my dh on Saturday that also resulted in the consumption of mass quantities of chocolate. The way I'm feeling right now, I could replace dh with some really good chocolate and it'd be an improvement. I'm still kinda grumbly about the whole thing. I think your TA job sounds like a great idea, and I hope everything works out the best for you.

Have a happy day, Amanda! :sunny:

When it rains, it pours.

I got in trouble at work today. I was balancing my checkbook and received an email from my boss asking me to not do personal online activities during business hours. I don't even take my 2 15 minute breaks a day and he is going to start in on me for taking 5 minutes to balance my checkbook.

Not to mention then he also made a comment about how he monitored my calls from last week and 4 of the calls were personal. I then thought it nice to remind him that my Aunt passed away last week and yes my personal calls were more frequent and that I would HOPE management would take that into consideration.

AUGH!!!!

OKAY EVERYONE - GATHER AROUND AMANDA! SHE NEEDS OUR SUPPORT! O n the count of three 1 2 3

Seriously Amanda, hang in there. I had a similar job situation 10 yrs ago. I really couldn't stand it. Ended up being let go and then I found my current job, which I love. Moral being, it will all work out for the best in the long run. (I know that doesn't help much right NOW, but there is a light at the end!:smooth: )

Most importantly, don't let your boss sabatoge your healthy living. If you go off plan because of him/her or your job, you are just letting a bad situation take over other aspects of your life. You CAN control that part of your life, so stay in control. Use exercise to work out the fustration and grief. It will also allow you to connect with your DH in a more positive way if you get rid of the stress, so that will also help in that area of your life as well.

Stay strong Amanda and we will be here for you. :grouphug:

I'm sorry about your boss, Amanda. Don't you hate it when you're reprimanded and made to feel like you're a child? I hope the rest of your day is better.

Thanks for the hugs everyone. I needed them today. I am sorry to be such a downer - I think things are just starting to catch up with me and I am frustrated. I did manage to calm down at work. I was so flaming mad that he would scold me about personal calls during a week where our family had a minor tragedy. I mean come on! After that I was ready to walk out. To bad that I need this job right now, and without another one lined up it would not be a good idea to walk away. *sigh* It just seems like it one thing on top of another.

The good news is that I did not let this ruin my day completely. I still managed to eat very healthy today - although I did have a minor bite of chocolate. Dh called also and said instead of cooking dinner we are just ordering pizza and wings. I'll be eating the wings and the toppings of the pizza. I don't want to fall backwards after all of this. So food for today:

B: 2 eggs, ham, cheese - 3.5 carbs
L: Tuna Salad - 3 carbs
S: Coffee - 5 carbs
Bite of chocolate -?
Water - 3 glasses so far and 1 diet coke.
S: Salad
D: Chicken wings and toppings of pizza - 1 carb per wing.
S: if needed sugar free jello

On my way home I stopped by one of my favorite scrapbooking store and bought $35.00 worth of paper. Thank Goodness for Birthday Money! I managed to scrap about 5 pages when I got home which really helped take my mind off things and relax. Once I ran out of tape I cleaned up my kitchen and am not getting ready to hit all of your journals. Tonight I need to mail out the invitations to the next bachelorette party I am hosting.

Hi Amanda,

I can understand what you are feeling about your boss. Management has decided to no longer allow allow internet access at work. Hello! The only time we can get on is if a MD forgets to sign out.

You have done a great job not letting your boss derail your healthy living plan. Keep up the great work.

I hate when management can't see the forest through the trees so to speak. If I were you I would take those 2 15 minute breaks from now on. You are entitled to them and your boss has unveiled himself with his true colors. Once I had a job that was so close to my house that I could actually walk there. Anyway, I would always come in at 9:02 am. I thought it was exactly 9:00 am. My boss liked to golf and frequently left in the early am for the rest of the day, however his partners were always there. My boss wouldn't give me work for a week or more so I would help the other girls with their work, answer the phones, learn the computer inside and out being self taught, etc. I didn't just sit there and I never took more than my lunch break. When my boss could peel himself away from the country club he would pile so much work on me that I couldn't see straight. On those weeks I would work through my lunch and come in on the weekends, both Saturday and Sunday. Well it seems that his youngest partner had a problem with me coming in exactly 2 minutes late every day. It was never more than that but it really bugged him so I got called into the office by my boss, the senior partner, and he said he couldn't care less but the youngest partner cared so could I make sure I was on time everyday and not be 2 minutes late like I had always been since I started. I was soooooooooooooooooo mad. I wasn't late, his clock in his office was fast. I looked at the clock in my house, car, on the radio and by my desk and each and every day I walked in exactly at 9 am. Not a minute before, not a minute after. I worked blocks from there so there was no commute. I didn't even have any stoplights from the office to my house. I told my boss how insulted I was and that I was mad I was being accused of coming in late daily. I also reminded him of all the lunches I had missed and just that weekend I had come in for free both Saturday and Sunday AGAIN. I loudly told him that I would never ever do that again for free and I would also not be helping any other secretary with their work for an ungrateful petty partner. Guess who NEVER complained again? The youngest partner. From that day on I always took my lunch and breaks. If I did come in on the weekends, I left early during the week to compensate. I guess my point is that you need to watch out for yourself. Stand up for yourself politely if you are ever questioned about taking your breaks and don't let people bully you. Obviously it wasn't appreciated that you were working through breaks so now if I were you I wouldn't give them the extra free time. I hope things look alot brighter tomorrow.:D

Good Morning! I am typing this fast and furious while I am on my first 15 minute break of the day ;)

Plan for today - low carb, low carb, low carb!

B: half biscuit with eggs, cheese, and bacon - ?
L: Leftover Chicken Paremesean and veggies
S: String Cheese
D: Chicken Breast baked with Cheddar and Mossarella cheese, and bacon. Veggies for side dishes
S: ? Not sure yet

No exercise planned for tonight - we are just going to take it easy and relax. We have a busy weekend coming up and tonight is going to be one of the few nights where we have nothing planned.

Invitations for the next party are out as of this morning.

~Amanda

Hi Amanda,

You sound like you are feeling better today. Enjoy every second of your breaks and lunch today. Have some Me time tonight. I'm thinking a bubble bath and pedicure. Have a great evening,
Beth

Amanda,

You should be on your second break now right?;) Hope you are having a good day at work.:D

Took both my breaks yesterday, worked my butt off, and still got a backhand from the boss. I left work yesterday in tears because I was so frustrated.

Yesterday did so-so on the eating side. recap:
b: 1/2 muffin with eggs, bacon, and cheese
L: Leftover Chicken Paramagiana
S: Peanut M&Ms- 12 carbs
D: Veggie Soup - 13.5 carbs
S: 1/2 Steak and Shake chocolate Shake.

I weighed myself this morning and it said 154.5 lbs - makes me :) a little! I am only working until 3:00pm today and then I have to go home and get ready for the rehersal dinner tonight. We are going to an italian resturant - I am hoping there is something on the menu that I can eat.

Plan for today:
B: nothing - woke up late and layed in bed for 10 minutes having a mental conversation with myself about I HAD to go to work today.

L: Subway low carb wrap - 11 carbs

D: Whatever they serve!

~Amanda

Amanda,

I am sending you a great big . I am so sorry about your job. :( I hope that you can find something that will be fufilling and make you happy. ::yes::

Take good care of you today.

Tracy:wave2:

Dear Amanda, I'm so sorry that work is not a happy place for you right now. :( Hang in there - hopefully it will get better, but I agree that they should get no more of your extra time!

Enjoy the festivities tonight! Sounds like you'll have another whirlwind weekend. Find some time to just relax, OK?

Sending you a gentle

Oh Amanda! Your boss bites! (I've been known to swear like a sailor, so I'm cleaning it up a little for you!) :D I'm sorry that your workplace isn't very pleasant--who wants to be in a toxic environment 8-9 hours a day?

I hope you enjoy your "take it easy" evening tonight and that all this workplace &$^#@*! and icky boss don't invade your personal time!

Have a good evening, Amanda!

 Amanda,

I'm sorry things are so nasty at work. I hope it blows over. Have you considered looking for a new job? I know you want to do the travel agent thing, but can you find something in your current field for now? I hate to see you so frustrated.

Enjoy your dinner tonight. I hope you had at least a bottle (opps Freudian typo) glass of wine. Enjoy the wedding this weekend, and I know you will be beautiful.

Take care,
Beth
