Amanda's Menu Planning Spectacular!

Hmmm, seems to me that you had one of those daily choices to make that could've thrown you off course, but you stayed on track and sailed right on through a possible storm! Clam chowder and crackers instead of junky food! Way to go, Amanda!:cheer2:

Erin

Thanks Erin and Doe you are making me feel a lot better about my decision. It is so frustrating to have things go out of your control but I did the best that I could and I'll just have to breathe easier about that.

I'm trying to distract myself from thinking about food by concentrating on :earsboy: :earsgirl: :earsboy: :earsgirl: :earsboy: :earsgirl: I can't wait to get back to the house of mouse!

Hi Amanda,

You are doing a great job. Recommitting to lc while on the dzone train is tough, but I know you can do it, You made a wise decision at lunch.::yes:: Keep up the great work.
Beth

Good Morning! I feel like this today l-->:faint: I am just so tired. DH feels the same way so I think it might have a lot to do with the weather.

Total Recap for yesterday:
B: 2 eggs, slice of cheese - 3 carbs
L: Clam Chowder - ?
S: 3 cream savers - 11 carbs, 1 bag of peanuts - 5 carbs
D: Chicken Strips - 5 carbs
S: Sugar Free Ice Cream Bar - 17 carbs and an energy Bar - 12 carbs

I went way over the 30 carbs plan but I made good decisions. The energy bar was necessary after our run both DH and I felt completely drained. The energy bar should actually be called a recovery bar. It essential replaces all the good nutrients your body has to use while exercising like protein.

The run last night was tough due to humidity. We did 4 mins walking and 6 mins running - and i have to say it actually felt really good. DH had a tough time and couldn't finish so we only worked out for 24 minutes rather then the usual 30 minutes.

I also got the office cleaned and organized, the kitchen straightened up, but I did not get to the laundry. Oh well.

Plan for today:
B: 2 eggs and slice of cheese - 3 carbs
L: Either Left over Pork Tenderloin and Greenbeans or Tuna Salad - not to exceed 5 carbs
S: Cream Savers - 11 carbs
D: ??? I'm not sure yet what we are going to have for dinner tonight. Our cupboard is getting a little bare. I might make myself some cajun shrimp and cauliflower - DH is up in the air.

E: I am going to go for a 30 minute walk tonight

Other Goals:
1) Clean Bathrooms, scrub down toilets and mop floors
2) Vacuum steps to basement and office
3) Finish the stupid laundry

Good morning Amanda:wave:

Sending some :wizard: for you today. I feel that way too. I think it's because it's rainy and humid here in Ohio that I feel tired and kind of out of it. I hope you have a wonderful day today!:sunny:

Tracy:wave2:

P.S. Laundry was on my list of things to do yesterday too and I didn't get it done either. Now, I am completely out of laundry soap and won't have time to get to the store and pick some up until tomorrow. Oh, darn!:( ;) Have a good one!:teeth:

It is humid here as well. The humidity just zaps my energy level down to zero. Good for you with your run. That is one thing that I just can not accomplish......running. It kills my knees. I look at runners and they have such lean bodies that I really wish I could run. Maybe someday, just not now. Have a great day.:D

:wave2: Hi, Amanda! Good workout yesterday! I hope the humidity is lower tonight so that you can enjoy your walk.

Have a good Wednesday, princess: Amanda!

so far so good today and sticking to plan! My lunch was very yummy and filling so that is good. Now i just have to hope that it sticks with me all day.

Dinner tonight is going to be herb chicken - DH will have pasta and I'll have cheesy Cauliflower. I forgot I had a pound of chicken in the freeze so it is sitting out to defrost as we speak.

I must admit that I am trying to stay focused at work but it is really hard - I want to go home NOW!

~Amanda

Good Morning! I've given up on folding the laundry - it just isn't going to happen ;)

I got everything else on my list done, bathrooms are clean and mopped, and everything was vaccumed (thanks to DH). And I did get in a 30 minute walk last night. 54 minutes of exercise total so far!

Food Recap:
B: 2 eggs and slice of cheese - 3 carbs
L: Pork Tenderloin and Greenbeans - 6 carbs
S: Creamsavers - 11 carbs
D: Low carb burger - 3 carbs and Energy Bar - 12 carbs
S: No Sugar Added Ice Cream Bar
S: Grapes

I was really hungry last night after our run. I know I exceed the 30 carbs but I thought I made pretty good choices. I probably should have had a bigger dinner.

Focus for today:
B: Peanutbutter and 1/2 english muffin - 14 carbs
L: Tuna Salad or Pork Again
S: Creamsavers - 11 carbs
D: I am going to make the famous campbells soup chicken and rice dish for DH. I'll be eating the chicken and then making some brocolli or something and avoiding the rice.

Exercise: We are suppose to go running tonight - I'm not sure it will get done. A friend of ours is coming over to help run speaker wire through the house for the party we are having this weekend. We will have music blasting in the garage, house, and backyard (yes officer - I know the music is up loud but it is all about the atmosphere  )

Goals today:
Finish straightening the house - kitchen, living room, and bedroom.

Try to fit in exercise.

WOO-HOO!!! Everyone over to Amanda's for the PARTY!!!!

:rockband: "Celebrate good times, come on!!" :rockband:

I'm not waiting for the weekend, Amanda - I'm throwing a WISH party on the healthy living road RIGHT NOW!! We've got music, dancing, smiles and laughter - we're gonna have a great time! Care to join in??

Thanks for all your support yesterday and every day! This healthy living road is a lot more fun with you around! :sunny: :sunny: :sunny:

LOL!    It is going to sound like 3 :rockband: :rockband: :rockband: at my house this weekend!

We had the same party last year - we had 50 people at the party, a keg of beer, and very loud music. Thankfully the cops were not called on us. The party went into the whee hours of the night - I think I finally kicked the last person out at 3a.m. and then I had to wake up at 8 a.m. to clean up the mess that occured so my neighbors wouldn't see beer cans and cigarette butts in my yard..........................and in theirs. It was a wild party.

If my neighbor Susan is still stalking my journal (:wave2: Susan) she can vouch for the craziness that was had by all.

I just had a BRILLIANT IDEA and I have got to share it. DH has willingly agreed to add on an extra day on our trip in January, and to buy annual passes so that we can enjoy the parks a bit more.

He LOVES Cirque Du Soleil - we saw it in 2002 and he talks about it all the time. He really really enjoyed himself and wants to go back and see it. Well - for Christmas I am going to buy tickets for the 6pm show on Saturday night. I figure this gives us enough time to enjoy the show and get something to eat and still in bed early enough for the race the next day. I'm going to either put the tickets in his Christmas stocking or something else.

I'm so excited - I know he is going to flip out!

~Amanda

I think that is a brillant idea. We are still deciding whether to go to Cirque when we go. We saw in 2000, and we've seen Mystere and O in Vegas. I got tickets for the touring company for my parents anniversary a couple of years ago. He will be so surprised. Keep up the good work, and have a great time at the party this weekend.
Beth

I would love to go see Cirque but my husband wants no part of it! What little tidbits can you give me to peak his interest in seeing the show?

Thanks for the infomation Amanda. I will work on him. We will have someone to watch the kids so it would be fun to have it just be the two of us. Do you get better tickets the earlier you book?

Good Morning Everyone! This is going to be a long and rambling post. I got on the scale this morning and it said a wonder 153 lbs - that is a 2 lb loss this week. But more exciting then that is the way that I feel. I finally feel healthy again, and I am starting to feel my self-confidence come back. I've been hiding under bigger clothes lately - but not today! :) I took a nice long look at my body this moring. I've commented before about that my shape is changing and I'm not sure how I feel about it. I'm still not sure - but at least today I was a bit happier with what I saw. The arms are getting leaner, and my butt is getting higher :o , my legs look fabulous and muscular (can't wait to wear shorts at the party tonight). My upper body meaning shoulders, chest, and upper abs are getting leaner looking - however my hips and lower abs are still quite wider. My body has always been one of straight up and down. My waist was only .5 inches smaller then my hips. I bet if I was to measure now there would be a full inch or more in difference. My body is certainly starting to look more like a woman rather then a young 20 something. And that is a bit scary! But I am going to try and focus on the positives.

Went for a run last night for 30 minutes. It was a good run although in the last 2 minutes of the run my knee started to burn like fire. I had to slow it down and power walk the rest of the time. DH did a complete 3 miles and I did 2.75 miles. So far we have 84 minutes of exercise. I will not be working out tonight since we need to get ready for the party!

We now have speakers all over the house. It is going to be loud tonight in my neighborhood.

Recap for food yesterday:
B: english muffin and peanut butter - 14 carbs
L: Tuna Salad with Cheese - 3 carbs
S: 3 Cream Savers - 11 carbs
D: Bourbon Street Steak from Applebee's with Fresh Veggies - 3 bites of DH's burger and my piece of Texas Toast.
S: Energy Bar - 12 carbs

After the run I was STARVING! I think I did pretty good - I need to plan carbbier meals for dinner on nights we run.

Plan for today:
B: eggs and bacon - 3 to 5 carbs
L: I think I am going to try a low carb bowl at Crazy Bowls and Wraps.
D: Baked Chicken Breast and then the low carby items at the party

DH is picking up some low carb beer for me to drink tonight. I'm going to try and drink a lot of water today to fend off any hangover tomorrow! :) See it is good to always have a plan.

~Amanda

YAHOO! TWO POUNDS GONE! :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc
Man, what I wouldn't give to spend a day at 153!::yes::
Good for you, Amanda!

I know what you mean when you say "I finally feel healthy again." It's like an old friend has been away and has finally returned--these feelings of control and well being are back for all of us returning to our healthy living programs. Hooray for us!

princess: Amanda, have a great party tonight and enjoy how you're looking in those shorts! I bet DH will!;)

:wave2: Bye,
Erin

princess: Amanda, you are looking good!!! You sound like you've got the world by the tail, girlfriend!! I bet there's NOTHING you couldn't accomplish right now!! :sunny: :sunny: :sunny:

The party plans sound like fun (except for the hangover part.....LOL!!). Enjoy!!! I bet you'll be lookin' fab in those shorts!!

I love your plans for the Cirque surprise for DH - he'll be so thrilled! It's such a thoughtful gift and I bet you'll both have a wonderful time! Just make sure you get to bed at a decent hour - I think we have to be in the starting area between 4 and 5 AM on Sunday! :p I don't want to see you on the half course, sleeping on a bench!

Maybe we'll get to share another WISHES viewing in January .... perhaps from the beach at the Poly on Friday night?? We sure did enjoy sharing WISHES with you and Brian last February! I can close my eyes and imagine myself there......such pixie dust in the air and good friends to boot!

Have a wonderful Friday, Amanda!! :sunny:

CONGRATULATIONS AMANDA!

Two pounds gone is AWESOME! Have a great time tonight at the party tonight. I bet DH is :earseek: with you in those shorts.
Have a good weekend. . Remember to drink your water to get rid of that hangover.
