Amanda's Menu Planning Spectacular!

I am suriving today - which is leaps and bounds ahead of where I was yesterday. I've stuck to plan and am drinking my water. I am already starting to feel physically better. Now I just have to get through the run tonight.

So far today:
B: 2 eggs, greenpeppers, ham, mushrooms, and cheese
L: Cajun Shrimp and broccoli with cheese
S: 3 Cream Savers
D: I actually got out the crock pot this morning and threw in 4 chicken breast and smothered it in some 4 cheese italian dressing. I checked on it at lunch today and the chicken looks ready to just fall apart. DH will be having this with noodles - I'll be enjoying it over broccoli.

After the run tonight I have a sugar free ice cream bar that I am going to indulge in.

I survived the day. I had one item that was a cheat but otherwise improved greatly.

B: 2 eggs, cheese, ham, green peppers, and mushrooms - 5 carbs
L: Shrimp - 2 carbs and broccoli w/Cheese - 5 carbs = 7carbs
S: 3 creamsavers - 11 carbs
S: 1 mini Snickers bar - 12 carbs
D: Chicken Breast w/Italian sauce, and low carb noodles
Sports Drink, Energy Bar, and my sugar free ice cream bar

Exercsie - 2.75 miles and I complete all 3 - 5 minute runs. I'm going to be hurting tomorrow

~Amanda

I woke up feeling more like myself this morning and not so depressed! Must be leftover endorphins from our run last night. I am hydrating myself big time today with water.

Plan for today:
B: Meal Replacement Bar and Energy Drink - 24 carbs
L: Peanut Butter and Celery Sticks 4 to 8 carbs depending on how much Peanut Butter I use
S: Peach - 8.3 carbs
D Leftover night! DH will be having Tacos and I will be eating either the left over chicken from last night - or I'll be doing a BBQ Pork steak and veggies.

Exercise - I am going to do some floor stretching exercises and also I may go for a short and easy walk. My legs feel like they need a good stretch.

Vitamins and Glucosamine - taken!

I'm also going to try to catch up on journals today. Thanks to everyone for being patient with me.

:wave2: Hi, Amanda! Just came by to sprinkle some P.D. :wizard:
on your afternoon. Hope it's a good one!:D You know, Amanda, we can do this together if we try! :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc Let's hear for another day of healthy living!

Erin

Amanda, you sound like you're walking the healthy living walk!! I've been slacking lately and reading your journal is helping motivate me to start doing those things I KNOW work - like drinking my water. I'll be lifting a glass and toasting you while I'm at work!!

Good Morning! It is a gray and rainy day here today - the kind of day where all you want to do is stayed curled up in your bed and read a book. But here I am at work anyway!

Recap for yesterday:
B: Meal Replacement Bar and Energy Drink - 24 carbs
L: Peanut Butter and Celery Sticks - 8 carbs
S: 4 cream savers - 14.6 carbs
D: Chicken and Low carb noodles - 10 carbs. 1 small taco (?)
S: Sugar Free Ice Cream
1 Mountian Dew - 46 carbs

So yes I was pretty high in carbs yesterday but I felt that I made good choices (except for the Mountain Dew). I had a great day at work yesterday - lots of business, good news from upper management about our pay, and it went by really really fast.

Todays Plan:
B: Peanut Butter and 1/2 english Muffin - 14 carbs
L: Chicken Ceasar Salad
S: 3 cream savers - 11 carbs
D: Buffallo Wild Wings - Chicken Wings (1 carb each)

After dinner I have to go Bridal shower shopping and then home to relax. I have 2 bridal showers this weekend - I'm going to do my best to stay low carb, depending on the menus.

Hi Amanda,

I just wanted to pop in to say hi. Have a great time this weekend at the bridal showers. Glad to hear things went well with work yesterday.
Beth

Hi Amanda!
I hope you have a great time at the bridal showers this weekend.::yes:: Take good care of you!

Tracy:wave2:

:sunny: Good morning, dear Amanda!! :sunny:

I hope today is just as good as Friday was at work! Glad to see you finding some happiness there - I know it hasn't been easy lately! ::yes::

How did the bridal showers go? I hope you had a good time at both!

I'm back in the exercise game! Hopefully you'll find some time this week to get your training runs in.

Have a wonderful day! :sunny:

:wave2: Hi Amanda,
Hope you enjoyed your weekend! Wishing you a happy Monday :sunny: !

Thanks everyone for stopping by! The showers were a lot of fun and it was good to catch up with my friends. The first shower I did horrible eating wise, the second shower I did a little bit better. Neither shower served a salad - can you believe it?

I weighed myself this morning and I am 155lbs - with nothing in my stomach and no clothes on. This is no good! But hopefully is the kick in my *** that I need to get fully on track. I'm going to be breaking out my Dana Carpender book and hopefully that will put me in the mind set to do things right again.

Plan for today:
B: eggs and Sausage/bacon - 3 carbs Coffee - 5 carbs
L: Tuna Salad - 2 carbs
S: 3 Cream savers - 11 carbs
D: Left over Onion Garlic Pork Tenderloin - (4) and either Greenbeans or cheesy cauliflower (?)
S: Sugar Free Ice Cream bar or an Energy Bar

Exercise - we will be running tonight 6 minutes and walking 4 minutes - I'll be drinking lot of water today to help hydrate myself.

~Amanda

Hi amanda,

I'll be happy to kick your scale. Just thought I'd tell you that Dana Carpender just came out with a barbeque/grilling book. I just picked it today. Have a good one.
Beth

So far so good today ::yes:: It was a rough day at work - I am really irritable and craby today and had a hard time at work - but I got through it. Dinner tonight we ordered pizza and salad - both DH and I were so hungry that we just tore into it. I had a pretty big salad and then 2 small slices of pizza (thin crust) I also then ate the toppings off of about 4 more peices. Told ya I was hungry! It is unbelievably hot here so we are not going to go for a run tonight but I am going to try and go for a short walk, so that I can do the 1000 minutes of exercise challenge. I've also got laundry to finish and I would like to get one room in the house completely clean tonight. So I better get off the computer and get cracking.

~Amanda

Hi Amanda,
I hope that today is a much better day for you at work.::yes:: Have a great day!!:sunny:

Tracy:wave2:

I got a lot of stuff done last night but I did not get in my walk. I got the laundry done (although not folded) and cleaned the 2nd bedroom from top to bottom.

Non Diet Goals:
1. Clean and Organize Office
2. Fold and put away Laundry

Diet Goals:
Less then 30 carbs!
B: 2 eggs, 1 slice of cheese, and energy drink - 3 carbs
L: I'm going to be eating at the office today - I'll either be doing a salad or I'll get a sandwich and remove the bread. - not to exceed 10 carbs.
S: 3 Creamsavers - 11 carbs
D: Hot Chicken Tenders (1 carb per Tender) and some steamed broccoli.

Exercise: We will be running 6 minutes and walking 4 minutes for 3 reps.

Water: I want to be nice and hydrated tonight since it is really really warm outside. So I'll be trying to drink up lots of water today.

I probably picked the worst week to get back on track. The week of my period always makes me feel like I am only running at 50% added to it the mack truck feeling of getting back to low carb after being high carb for awhile is not helping. I'm trying to space out my sugar and caffine through the day to help me stay focused. I was sure I would see a drop in weight this morning since I was going to the bathroom a lot yesterday but it still said 155 lbs today. I'm thinking that my body may be holding on to a little extra water since I'm do to start.

This month is going to have a lot of trials for me but I am going to try and be cheat free all month. This weekend we are having a party on Friday night. I am buying low carb beer, and making sure to have some sausage and cheese snacks handy. Next weekend I have a baby shower, the following weekend after that I have another bridal shower, and then I am going to Los Angeles for 8 days for work. But I am just going to focus on one day at a time.

~Amanda

Amanda, you have a great plan in mind. I love how you've looked over the month to see where the challenges are and are already developing strategies. I'm going to do that, too.

You know, sometimes I think we have to remember that we're different from everybody else when it comes to the goals we have for a healthy lifestyle; you know very well that some people couldn't care less! While we may not have strict medical reasons for eating a certain way (like a diabetic, for example), if we want to achieve our goals, we have to be very clear and determined in our focus. I think that you're setting yourself up for success when you articulate what your challenges will be and how you plan to handle them. Let's face it--there's a challenge just about every day in one way or another, isn't there?:p From TOM to parties to someone bringing donuts in at work, there are so many choices we have to make in any given day. . .we have to know what we want and be willing to sacrifice for our greater good!:D

So drink that water, run and walk, and go after the healthy, slim life you're meant to have!

Erin

Erin's post was so eloquent - can I just say "ditto"??!! ::yes::

Amanda, you wrote in someone's journal (sorry, can't remember whose  ) that there are quite a few of us getting back on track. I think you're right!

It's our time to shine, Amanda! Let's show 'em how it's done!! :sunny:

Augh. The salad bar at my work was pitful looking today. The salad greens were wilted and everything else just looked so unfresh. The sandwich line was 20 people long so I settled for a small cup of Clam Chowder and I threw in a couple of crackers. I probably went over the 10 carbs for lunch but I was in a bind and did the best I could. I walked quickly away from pizza and junky food. Still striding forward and trying to put a positive spin on things!

~Amanda

Given the available choices - I think you did just fine!!! ::yes:: Good for you, sweetie!! :sunny:
