Amanda's Menu Planning Spectacular!

Your food for yesterday was pretty good! I finished off the lc ice cream at home too!

I think your Subway wrap for lunch sounds great - think I'll walk to Subway and get one for me! That way, I'll eat healthy AND get some exercise! :p

Have a good time babysitting the puppy (all dogs are puppies to me...LOL!). :sunny:

Hi Amanda,

Have a great time dog sitting. I did it once, and I won't do it again. I had an ice cream encounter this week too. I hope your weekend is :sunny
Beth

Beth - this is the easiest dog to watch. She was trained by the county police department to be a drug sniffing dog but she was "terrorized" by a male dog and then wouldn't preform the test. This is the only dog I know that you can tell to stay and then walk out of the room for 10 minutes and come back to see her in the same spot. She is the perfect dog by my standards!

I'm trying to decide if yesterday was good or bad. LOL! Here is a recap

B: Instant Oatmeal
L: 2 Italian Sausage (no bun) w/broccoli and cheese
D: Hardee's Burger w/bun and a few french fries
S: Suagr Free Jello, and sports drink
Exercise - 5/5 for 30 minutes - I was not able to complete the last 5 minute run. DH did 2.5 miles and I did 2.25 miles.

I guess it was just an okay day. :)

Plan for today:
B: Sugar free Jello (real healthy right?)
L: I might make Shrimp Alfredo over broccoli
D: Mom is making BBQ Pork Steaks, baked potatoes, and corn. I'm going to making a thing of greenbeans and will only enjoy half of a potato

I think I am going to take Sara for a brisk walk this afternoon - and DH and I will be doing the 5/5 for another week I think.

 Amanda,

Wow I am so impressed with your running. I just can't bring myself to do it. Yesterday looks good, and today looks great. I hope you have a relaxing Sunday.
Beth

Well yesterday almost went as planned. I forgot to comment to you guys that I pretty much slept all the way through Saturday. I work up at 6:30 a.m. to let the puppy out and then proceeded back to the couch and napped until 10a.m. - I got up and did some chores and stuff then came back and napped from 1pm to 4pm. I was just really really tired - maybe to much stress? I ordered some Glucosamine vitamins to help with my joints for all the running because my knees hurt after the runs.

Today's Plan:
B: 2 eggs and cheese (Duh Amanda! I suddenly figured out that I could scramble to eggs and pour it into a tupperware container with cheese and bring it to work with me :confused3 )

L: Tuna Salad or some lunch meat in a salad.

S: Sugar free Jello

D: We are meeting friends for a business dinner over pizza. I'll be limiting my pieces to 2 and my lunch will need to be extremely low carb to make up the difference.

Exercise - none today.

I've been making excuses to myself to eat unhealthy. And I need to stop that. With all the running we've been doing there is no reason for my weight to still be at 154 lbs - it should be lower - obviously my eating, especially of carbs, has increased to an unacceptable level.

~Amanda

I need a crash and burn smilie face. Yesterday was not good but it could have been worse. It was a very stressful day at work which is why their is more chocolate in my system then usual.

Recap:
B: 2 eggs and cheese ( 4 carbs)
L: Tuna Salad (3 carbs)
S: Mini Snickers Bar - 12 carbs and 3 Hershey's Kisses
D: 3 slices of Thick Crust Pizza
Water: 8 glasses of water (that's alot for me!)
3 diet sodas through the day.

Plan for today:
B: 1/2 english muffin with Peanut Butter - 14 carbs
L: When in doubt Improvise! I had Chicken Ala Amanda - I found some can chicken and just used it the same way I would use chicken strips. It made a huge portion but very low in carbs!
D: DH will be having Cheeseburgers and French Fries. I'll be making Shrimp and Broccoli Alfredo and pouring it over some whole wheat noodles.

I am adding in the extra carbs for the big workout tonight. DH wants to try walking 4 minutes and running 6 - but I may have to stay at the 5/5 method for one more week.

Hi Amanda,

Good thinking adding the carbs bedore the workout. I hope the weather is better for your run tonight. Have a good day today.
Beth

Good Morning!:earsboy:

DH and I had to skip our workout last night - it is incredibly hot and humid here in St. Louis and could be dangerous for both of us to be pushing it. We will also not be able to go tonight due to the heat - although I am considering breaking out the Firm tapes and doing that. We'll have to see though.

Recap for yesterday:
B: 1/2 english muffin w/Peanut Butter - 14 carbs
L: Chicken Ala Amanda - 5 carbs
S: 1 hershey's kiss
D: Shrimp Alfredo over broccoli and 1/2 cup low carb pasta (not sure on total carb count but the pasta was only 5 carbs)

I had a huge portion for dinner last night. That is one of the yummiest dishes ever! I need to buy more shrimp when I go shopping.

Plan for today:
I woke up starving this morning but I also woke up late for work. I decided that I deserved to buy breakfast once I got here.

B: HUGE 3 egg omelet with ham, green peppers, and cheese - estimated 6 carbs

L: Left over Shrimp Alfredo - no noodles - YUMMY YUMMY YUMMY YUMMY - I cannot say enough good things about this recipe! It is so delicious and filling! Plus lots of broccoli is good for you!

D: ?? Not sure yet - I think it will be an everyone fends for themselves night - in which case I'll be doing a salad or something simple. It is way to hot to cook!

Exercise - nope, nada!

~Amanda

Hi Amanda!

Thanks for stopping by my journal.::yes:: I hope that the weather cools off for you soon. It's been 90 and humid here in Ohio so I understand.:sunny:

That shrimp alfredo sounds yummy. Is that the recipe from Lisa? I need to get that recipe and try it out.::yes::

I am sending you a PM.... Have a great day!:sunny:

Tracy:wave2:

Yesterday went pretty much to plan accept for a little snacking and a change in dinner. Recap:
B: Large 3 egg omelet with ham, peppers and cheese
L: Shrimp Alfredo
S: Mini Twix Bar and 1 Hershey Kiss
D: Chicken Ceasar Salad Wrap and Chips from Crazy Bowls and Wraps - Diet coke.

No late night snacking so I was pleased with that. Now if I could just get over my chocolate craving in the afternoon.

Today's plan:
A Regular Coke - it just called to me - 39 carbs
B: 1/2 english muffin w/Peanut Butter - 14 carbs
L: Shrimp Alfredo Again (It is yummy and the only thing I have in the house at the moment)
D: We are going to my SIL's for dinner. We will be having Pork Steaks and whatever sides she fixes - probably potatoes and corn - I may take a thing of Greenbeans over for myself.

I feel a little better about skipping our workouts the last two nights. I talked to our neighbor last night who has ran several full marathons and is in the process of training for an Iron Man and even he said it was to hot. The good and bad news is that tomorrow it is going to cool off tremendously so we will be back on the track tomorrow night. I will say the running is paying off though because my legs and butt look fabulous!

~Amanda

If I was exercising outside, the last few days would definatley be rest days too. Ugh, I hate this humidity thing. Amanda, have you tried the RS mint patties. They come in individually wrapped, set of 2. They are yummy. You could get your chocolate and only .2 cargbs apiece.

Have a good one.
Beth

I did okay again yesterday - I had 2 hershey's kisses after lunch and my dinner I stuck to just porksteaks and greenbeans. Although I did have about 4 french fries.

My SIL talked to me last night about wanting to go back to WDW. They went a long time ago and didn't plan ahead and therefore did not have a good time. So she wants to go with us one year with their kids - the problem is that we are all very different people and they like to do everything the hard way. For instance they wouldn't want to get to the parks until 11a.m. - well we all know that is when the parks are the most crowded. And I just don't think it would work out well. Plus they would want to drive (We live in St. Louis so it is a LONG drive) and I just don't think it would be a good idea. But then again it would be fun to go with our 3 year old nephew and see the parks through his eyes..... I guess we'll wait and see if they ever save the money to go.

Plan for today:
B: Meal Replacement Bar
L: Cheeseburger - no bun
D: Mexican! Chimiganga - so not good for me but oh so good anyway!

~Amanda

Hi Amanda! :wave2:

I just got caught up on your journal. Is your visit with the puppy over??

I think you're smart to take rest days when the heat and humidity make it dangerous to run outside. There's no reason to push. We still have 6 months until the half. Let DH train at his own pace and you should train at a pace that's comfortable for you - otherwise you might end up injured.

I hope you have a wonderful, relaxing weekend! :sunny:

Good morning, Amanda! Are you ready for Monday? I'm challenging you--yes, YOU, girlfriend--to make it cheat free with me. Are you up for it? Can you do it?? Sure you can! :Pinkbounc

Sorry, I haven't been around lately, it was just too hard for me to keep everything all together: work, home, healthy eating, journals--so you know what fell by the wayside. Now, I'm back in action and ready to take on the challenge of today. So are you, right? RIGHT? I CAN'T HEAR YOU!! :listen:

Let's jump into this Monday :bounce: :Pinkbounc and be WINNERS! Oh, I mean LOSERS!!

Erin

I feel like a big fat cow! My workout tonight was awful. I could not finish our run tonight, I'm bloated, and I just feel horrible about myself.

Recap:
B: Nothing
L: Tuna and Mustard and low carb bar
S: Meal Replacement Bar
D: Recovery bar, 2 tacos
S: Lowcarb ice cream bar

~Amanda

 for you Amanda. I pray that tomorrow you have a wonderful day!:sunny: Take good care of you,

Tracy:wave2:

   Amanda,

I hope today is going better. You have been doing an amazing job, one lousy day will not throw you off your training schedule.
I hope it is :sunny: for you today.
Beth

Thanks Beth and Tracy for posting to my journal. It was nice to come here today and see that I had friends thinking about me. I threw myself quite the pity party yesterday. I would have invited you all except for the fact that boards were down. I splurged on everything all weekend and by yesterday just felt like the biggest loser. And then I let myself get beat up over it. Oh yeah, it was a fun day. Then we went for our run and it was a disaster. I couldn't finish the full 5 minutes and I let myself get really frustrated. I yelled at Brian for getting so far ahead of me and making me feel like I was a loser because I couldn't keep up. This isn't his fault - and I apologized later.

Today was a bit better. I had a really stressful day at work but I held it together during the day food wise. We did order pizza tonight for dinner and I ate more then I should - but I just couldn't stand the idea of cooking after the day I had. I took a nice long bubble bath and tomorrow is a new day. I'm just going to concentrate on drinking my water tomorrow, and getting through our run. Everything else is gonna take a back seat.

Plan for tomorrow:
B: 2 Eggs and 1 slice of cheese
L: Cajun Shrimp and Veggies
S: I got some of those LIfesavers Creams - 11 carbs for 3 of them.
D: Baked Chicken Breast, DH will have noodles and I'll stick to veggies.

So t here - as long as I stick to my plan, drink water, and get my exercise in I'll have a good day.

~Amanda

Amanda,
Sending you  :wizard: and :sunny: for your day ahead. I hope today is a much better day for you!::yes::

Take care,
Tracy:wave2:
