Amanda's Menu Planning Spectacular!

Amanda, I'm hoping your teeth are feeling better after your dental visit yesterday! Best wishes for a sunny and restful day today!!

I had this nice long post this morning and then BAM! it was deleted. *sigh*

The game last night was great even though our eating was a bit on the excessive side. Today we joined my FIL and his favorite bar for lunch (don't ask). I ordered a 12 inch pizza and ate a couple of slices and then just picked off toppings for the rest of the lunch and I had 2 diet sodas.

We came home and it was cool enough and shady enough to go for a run so we did another 30 minutes of walk 7 and run 3 minutes. Good news my legs don't feel like jello, bad news - it is still a really tough run and it makes me nervous about doing 4 minutes next week. We may do two more times of 7/3.

Dinner tonight is going to be Grilled honey mustard Pork Tenderloin, corn (for DH and brother), and steamed broccoli for my Dad and I.

For the moment I am going to cool off (we just got done with our cool down walk) and then I am going to scrapbook for a bit. The rest of the day should be fairly relaxing.

Don't you hate it when the computer doesn't cooperate. That happened to me a few days back and by then my fingers were too tired to retype so I said forget it!

Sounds like your workouts are going well. Endurance does come, give it time.

Good Morning! Man this weekend went by way to fast! Sheesh! Well it is back to the grind this morning and I've got a job interview tonight after work. It isn't really a job interview as much as a getting to know our business type thing. I'm thinking of a job in real estate and meeting with another real estate agent to get some information.

I'm wearing one of my two business suits today and I have to admitt the pants are a little tight despite being a size 14. However they have always been tight:rolleyes: .

Plan for today:
B: Meal Replacement Bar
L: Probably left over Spaghetti
D: Eggs and cheese

It is a busy day today because after my job interview we have our mentor coming over to discuss our business so it will be a long evening.

Have a great day everyone:wave2:

~Amanda

Good Morning Everyone! I am trying to e nice and :sunny: today even though I feel like :faint: and :headache: . Yesterday was such a busy day that I felt like it was 3 days rolled into one. I actually had to convince myself that it was Tuesday today - which was not a pleasant thought this morning.

My interview went well but I don't think I am going to pursue the position. It was for a Real Estate Agent and I just don't think that right now is the time to take on such a bold career move.

So I am back to the usual grind today. My body is starting to look nice and trim from all the running we've been doing. And that is something to :D about.

Plan for today:
B: 2 slices of American cheese and a small applesauce cup.
L: Tuna Salad
D: Cheddar Dogs! with broccoli and cheese for me and Mac and Cheese for DH.

Exercise: Walking 7 / Running 3 for 3 reps. Dh wants to move up to 4 but I told him no way! I was not ready to move it up to 4 minutes of running yet - which I know sounds like so little but it is getting rough. We also might go to a track tonight since the hills are killing us! :)

I'm hoping to get to some journals today - I know I've been slacking on that.

~Amanda

Amanda, hang in there with the running - it will get easier with time. Don't move on to a longer time until you're ready.

Sorry to hear you're so tired today. I hope you have plans to get to bed early tonight!

Hi Amanda!
I'm sorry the week started off on a long note, but here's hoping that you :boat: through the rest of the week. Have a great evening!

Tracy:wave2:

Hi Amanda,
I am jealous of your running. I used to love jogging back in my 20's and 30's; now my hips and knees won't cooperate!

Maybe if get to my goal weight, I will go back and try the same thing you're doing, mostly walking and gradually add in the running; very gradually, mind you...

Good luck, Jean

I am going to Recap today because it was BAD!

B: Applesauce and 2 slices of American Cheese
L: Tuna Salad on 1 slice of whole wheat bread
S: Mini Twix Bar, Reese's Pieces butter cup and 1/4 cup of vanilla ice cream (can anyone say binge?)

Protein shake prior to run

D: 2 Cheddar dogs and 1/2 cup of mac and cheese.

I need to get back in the program!

~Amanda

Actually your binge sounds yummy!:smooth: Tomorrow is another day to start fresh. Good luck. You can do it.

Good Morning everyone! Today looks to be a :sunny: and beautiful day! The forecast calls for temps in the mid 70's without a cloud in the sky. Perfect!

Menu plan for today:

B: 1/2 cup of tuna salad (left over from lunch yesterday) - 2 carbs
L: 2 left over Cheddar Dogs at 2 carbs each and some broccoli and cheese - ??
D: ?? Not sure yet. I'll probably decide when I get home for lunch. Maybe we will do steaks!

I'm getting low in the fridge and pantry department at home. Grocery shopping day is on Friday! Whoo hooo!

No plans for tonight (feels nice to say that) so it will be a relaxing evening at home with no workout! :)

~Amanda

Hi Amanda,

Don't worry about your binge yesterday. You are back on track with your plan today. I also think that with your workouts, your body is lloking for more calories to compensate. Can you plan your snacks throughout the day? Enjoy the sunshine and your relaxing evening.
Beth

I have a confession to make. I weighed myself this morning, I just had to see if I was losing, maintaining, or gaining over the last 10 days. Right now I weigh 153.5 lbs - so I am kinda maintaining. I need to knock it off with the junk food - I keep making excuses as to why it is okay to eat it. Like "Well we had a tough work out yesterday - I can eat a bit of ice cream." Or "I had a rough day today and what is one mini twix bar going to hurt." I know if I cut this kind of behaviour that I will start to lose weight again however it seems to be the hardest behaviour for me to control.

Therefore I am starting a shopping list and looking up some recipes online - I need to make some legal low carb snacks so that I am not tempted by other treats. I also need to find stuff that I can keep at my desk at work. Maybe I'll pick up some sugar free candies or something.

Plan for today:
B: Protein Bar and Low Carb Energy Drink
L: Left over Sauasage and Greenbeans
D: Steak Fillets w/veggies

~Amanda

Oh, Amanda, I know those little excuses so well!! I use them all the time myself! If you figure out the secret to avoiding junk food, please let me know.

I think that I'll be overhauling the menus a bit when I get home. I know that I cheat more when I'm bored with my low-carb food. I wish you luck in finding some yummy new dishes that help you to love low-carb eating!

Good Morning! It is a nice cool day here in St. Louis. The high today is only going to by 75 degrees! DH and I had to skip running last night. He came home from work just looking absolutely beat and then layed down on the couch and went to sleep. He is under a lot of pressure at work so I thought best to let him rest. Since it is so cool today the plan is to go running right after work.

B: 1/2 cup of tuna salad and an energy drink (2 carbs)
L: ??? I don't know. There is nothing in the fridge that is low carb at the moment. I may go to Crazy Bowls and Wraps and try their low carb bowl.
D: Hardees

We will finish up setting up for our Garage Sale tomorrow. Yikes! I've never had a garage sale before so it should be interesting. Hopefully we will make some money and be able to buy some things for the house.....or I might set it aside for the Disney Trip in January - I haven't really decided yet.

~Amanda

How did your sale go, Amanda?? I had a garage sale once, ONCE! It drove me crazy and I have vowed never again. :p I hope you did well and have some extra $ for the big trip in January!

I'm hoping your Sunday is filled with :sunny: !

Good Morning! What a fabulous day! Actually it is really gray and a bit depressing looking - but I am feeling :sunny: and :teeth: this morning.

Our garage sale went great. It wa little slow for the first part of the morning but picked up as the day went on. We made $200 which was the minimum I was hoping for. So we went out yesterday and got a 7' silk Ficus Tree from Michael's for our living room that we have been wanting. We got it for 40% off so we only paid $30 for it! And we got some more frames for our hall bathroom. That is our next project - I still need to buy a light fixture for the room and that should be the jist of it. We are also debating on putting in a different mirror - but that can all be done with time.

I went and did some major grocery shopping this weekend. And brought lots of stuff home to make snacks and some different meals. I am going to try and make time to go to the library this week and pick up the South Beach Diet. With adding more carbs into my diet (due to training) I want to make sure I am adding in healthy ones.

Plan for today:
B: 1/2 an whole wheat English Muffin with Natural Peanut Butter (YUMMY! and such a nice alternative to a protein bar)

L: Ham and Gouda Cheese roll ups!, small Salad

D: This will be hard...we have a business meeting at 8pm so I want to make something quick with easy clean up. We may just do sandwiches, or I may make DH some noodles and stuff and I'll have tuna salad. Then again I did buy some summer sausage and cheese.........:smooth:

It is going to be quite at work today which is just the way I like it. Everyone that sits by me is either on vacation or out sick today. So I'll be enjoying the solitude.

~Amanda
