Since there seem to be so many "Team Knox" posts here, let's offer some alternate viewpoints.
First, a few from people who are more than armchair pundits like all of us:
FBI profiler Clint Van Zandt went over the trial the evidence in detail for NBC in 2008. Van Zandt happens to be a graduate of the FBI's elite National Center for the Analysis of Violent Crime (NCAVC) and is widely considered to be on of the most respected experts in the country on rape/ murder cases. He concluded the evidence was damning and correctly predicted the conviction of Knox & Sollecito.
Massachusetts Sex Crimes Prosecutor Wendy Murphy, a nationally recognized expert on interpersonal violence and Professor at New England School of Law, Boston said on CNN that there was a "big pile of evidence against Knox" and is convinced of her guilt. In fact, she feels so strongly about it that in some of her appearances she's endorsed the "True Justice for Meredith Kercher" website.
Then there's the issue of detail: I suspect most here have not read the English translation of the Italian Court's 427 Judgment.
Yes, 427 pages. Not just a memo with a 1 or 2 word "guilty/not guilty" pronouncement.
The attention to detail in the judgment is...staggering. No reasonable person could possibly look at it and conclude the verdict was the result of some sort of backwater, feudal kangaroo court. Nope, sorry - it was an OPEN court, in a democratic G8 nation, in which the defendants were afforded all of the rights they would be entitled to in an American court of law.
In fact, they were even afforded a few 'extras' that have no counterpart in common law countries (for example, the right to make "spontaneous declarations", at any point in the proceedings, without having to face subsequent cross-examination).
And to make an analogy, I strongly suspect the Florida State Attorney's Office can only DREAM of having this much evidence against Casey Anthony:
Confession (to instigation of rape & to presence during murder)
False accusation (on innocent black man)
Shifting alibis
Conflicting alibis
Flat out lies (esp. Raffaele's "accidentally pricked Meredith with knife" bit)
DNA on on of the murder weapons (found in Raffaele's apartment)
DNA on the victim's bloody bra clasp
DNA mixed with victim's blood in 5 separate locations
Womans size 7.5 shoe print in blood (Amanda's size)
LUMINOL revealed foot prints in blood (Amanda's)
Bloody foot print on bat mat (Raffaele's)
LUMINOL revealed blood smears and drops (signs of partial clean up)
3 drops of victim's blood in Amanda's bedroom
Poorly staged 'break-in' (effort to point finger of blame toward someone not residing in the cottage)
Cell tower pings
Suspiciously timed phone calls
Damning computer logs
First hand witness testimony placing the accused at specific locations at specific times
Abuse of street drugs to the point of memory loss
Prior acts (Amanda's Seattle "residential disturbance" arrest record, which involved rock-throwing, Raffaele's record for cocaine possession)
And to close, here's a pithy, salient qoute from another forum by an Italian:
"I'm Italian and live in Italy and let me tell you this. In Italy is almost impossible to end up in jail, no matter how bad what you have done is - you basically must be a total loser without any source of help to end up in jail (and this of course is a very bad aspect of Italian justice). But Amanda Knox was no prior loser and had plenty of help - so if she ended up is in jail it is only because she is very, very, very guilty."
