Thank you!! Steal away...I stole it from someone else :rotfl:

So I just heard back from my WC and she has unheld France and The Attic for March 9...lol if anyone is interested.

She is holding SBP for 5 p.m. on the 9th now!! I am so excited!!

I have a question though...and I tried to talk to Eric and he didn't get it.

At some point do I...or should I, send out saying something along the lines of we are getting married but it's a private, immediate family thing only and we will have a part when we get back??? I don't want people to think they weren't invited on purpose. Eric said his mom would just tell everyone...I told him his mom being a gossip is not proper etiquette:lmao:

Awe you decided on an escape wedding!!! Yay we're escape bride buddies! OH and SBP twins too!!!!!:woohoo::yay:

I'm going through the same thought process you are about sending out some kind of notice about the wedding and making sure we dont make anyone feel left out. What DF and I came up with is that we're going to be sending informal STD's out now to the people that we are inviting to the actual disney wedding. Just so they can start making arrangements and save for the trip. (it also gives us some sort of head count) Then at the 8 months out mark when we have the offical date and time we're going to send out STD's to everyone else just saying "we are having a small destination wedding in disney, please celebrate with us at our home reception... blah blah blah." That way nobody feels left out and we've covered all our bases.

HTH!:goodvibes

Ohh thank you!! Yes apparently Eric had an epiphany on the 6th hole the other day:lmao: I think he realized how nice it would be with just our families and then have a party at home. SBP was a no brainer. The pavillion is just too big for 15 people and we didn't like the Yacth Club gazebo.

Thanks for the ideas on the STD. I won't do them for our immediate family but I like the idea of sending out to everyone else. Thank you !!

So here is our guest list

Bride and Groom (that's us!!!)

Mom and Dad (mine)
Big Mike (my baby brother...and our officiant!!)
Grandma (Mom's....Dad's grandma has kinda gone off the deep end and we don't speak anymore)
Lauren and Petrick (My Moh and her husband :lovestruc)

Mom and Dad (his)
Jered and family (brother, wife...3 kids:scared1:)
Eric and Danielle (his Best Man/Best Friend and wife)

That's it!!! There are a few others I would like to invite but can't without causing family drama! I am really happy about our list.

And Eric is supposed to find out some more information on having the At Home reception at his golf course. If it's too pricey I will have too keep looking.

Yay for being an Escape Bride now!! I plan on SBP, too...it's beautiful! Any ideas on a dinner afterwards or any other celebration? I know it's a long ways off for me, but I've already thought about STDs and invites and how to explain it to everyone else other than word of mouth. I think I've decided to send STDs to those who are invited to the actual ceremony and a different STD to those invited to the reception saying something along the lines of "Be Our Guest (I love Beauty & the Beast) in celebrating the marriage of Missy and Casey on (date) at (location). Formal invitation to follow." At least this way people know they are invited to the reception!

That's a great idea!! Thanks for sharing.

I am kinda bummed... I just heard back from my WC and she said because of daylight savings I can't book the 5 p.m. time slot at SBP:headache: She said it will be dark in the middle of my ceremony. So I have the 2:30 slot held. Yuck.

As far as "reception"/dinner I have no idea!! I kinda like Il Mulino at the Swan though. Here is what my WC sent:

We can offer a private dinner in some of our smaller reception locations like the Sonoma Room at the California Grill, a small ballroom at the BoardWalk or the Yacht Club... This is a dinner with no entertainment. The minimums would be based on the location and their food and beverage minimums. We can request these events at the 6 month mark.

Sunset is not until 6:30pm on March 9, 2010..You would have plenty of light at 5pm

There's no way it'll be dark at 5pm, the earliest it ever gets dark down here is about 5:30pm. On March 9, 2010 sunset isn't until 6:30pm. Here's a link to the sunset calander for March 2010-

You girls are so funny but I beat you to it!!

I just emailed her back after I thought about. She said they are instructed for no 5 p.m. ceremonies between November 1 and March 14!! I said the same thing...sunset isn't until 6:30!! She is checking. If not we will move the ceremony (if we can) to the next week. I don't want to get too close to Easter though.

Wow. I've missed alot... a couple pages worth at least.:lmao:

Woo hooo.. for being an escape bride!!

I think your guest list sounds good. Dbf and I always have talked about having a 'at home reception' after our DFTW... i think that's a great idea... if you chose to go down that path...I thought the golf course picture was beautiful. Hopefully it's not too pricey.

I'm sorry you didn't get your 5:30pm slot.. but everything happens for a reason.

Love, LOVE the shoes!!

yay for the new decision!!!

I really like figment fan 21's way of sending out std's announcing your small wedding and the at home reception...That way people get something and understand what is going on and then know that they will be able to celebrate as well!!!

Easter isn't until April 4th next year so the next week you should be fine!

Just getting caught up--congrats on your plans! I'm surpised to hear what they're saying about no 5 p.m. ceremonies during those dates. :confused3 Hope they'll let you have that time slot.:goodvibes

I emailed the Golf course myself to see. I think we could have a cute golf theme. Since I am getting my Disney Wedding, Eric could have a golf themed reception, lol. Maybe even a golf cake!!!

I really don't want anyone to think we aren't inviting them. So I think I will come up with something to mail in July that announces the wedding and the at home reception to follow.

Easter isn't until April 4th next year so the next week you should be fine!

Keep your fingers crossed I can just keep the earlier date! If not, it's still peak season the next week anyway.

I'm just catching up and it looks like you chose SBP!!! YAY! SBP is perfect for an outdoor wedding, congrats on the decision! Can't wait to see what else you plan! :)

YAY! I just can't wait to hear about the date. We really want 5 p.m so that we can do dinner followed by a dessert party without too much time in between each.

p.s. Love the new photo under your tag!
Thanks! I love that pic of us :lovestruc

First of all, LOVE that you call Pat "Petrick" on the guest list:lmao: Just to put this out here...his name isn't really Petrick that is just a nickname stolen from a 3 year old:rotfl: I do love you guest list it sounds like the perfect number of people. We feel lucky to even be on it now!!:goodvibes I didn't realize he had a brother. One with three kids at that!:scared1:

I'm so glad you pick SBP!! That was my favorite definitely. I hope you get the 5pm ceremony time. It is a little silly. Ceremonies are like 20 or 30 minutes tops so there is no way it will be dark. In fact, it will be so romantic if the sun starts to go down a little during the ceremony if you ask me:love: If you have to move the date out a week though that doesn't seem like too big of a deal I guess.

I'm excited for the Dessert Party!!:cool1:

I agree, it would be beautiful with the sun setting in the background. I can't imagine they won't let you have it at 5, I mean it's only 5 days before they're allowed to anyway! That's great that they have rooms for a reception afterward! Both places for your at home reception look beautiful, hopefully the golf club won't be too expensive!
