Am I tracking my points correctly?

Hi!

In Oct 2003 we bought 150 points at SSR with a use year of June. I booked a 255 point trip for Nov 04, borrowing 105 points from 05.

So, this is what I think my point tracking looks like:

June 04 - June 05 All points used (150)
June 05 - June 06 105 points used (45 remaining)

I am not planning another trip till Nov 06. So in June 05 I call and bank my 45 points, correct?

Once I get the tracking started, I'm sure it will all make sense. I'm just a little confused about already booking a trip but not really having the points till June. Does this make any sense?

Your logic above seems exactly right!

I'm in the same boat having just bought into SSR and trying to plan trips that far ahead isn't always easy.

Check with Member Services if you have any questions. They have been very friendly on the phone, and it will put your mind at ease to know where you stand with your points.

This is probably what confuses new members most. The key thing to remember is points usage is based on the points that will be available on your dates of stay, not on the day you make the reservation. Forget what date today is, just look at the points available on the date you check-in. So if your trip is in November 04, the current year points will be the June 04 points. They are not "deposited" on June 1, 2004, they are already available in your account now for stays 6/1/04 to 5/31/05. Your June 2005 points are already available for borrowing for stays between 6/1/04 and 5/31/05.
