Am I the only one who LOVES Liberty Tree Tavern?

I was sad to see they took the characters away :( We used to love having the family style dinner with Chip, Dale, Pluto, Goofy and Minnie.

+ 1,000,000 (and then some)

That was the first character meal we ever did with our children, I have only the fondest of memories of LTT, its food, and the character meal experience there.

I'm sure the food is still great (at least I loved it -- I'm a <ahem> hearty eater ;)), but we haven't been back since they dropped the characters -- our kids are still small and the only sit-down meals we bother with at WDW are the character meals.

I've never been and here is my reason: A full turkey dinner is one of my personal specialties. I love it exactly the way I make it and it costs less than $30.00 for my entire family to eat it. Same with pork loin. So I struggle to pay over $100.00 (we are a family of 5) for something I make often and just as well at home.

So even though I agree with all the thoughts of MK not having great sit down places my family generally just leaves and eats at the MK resorts. Or CS places. Plus we love Crystal Palace as it has interesting things I don't make at home and the characters. Making it a better value to me for similar price.

I'll be eating there for the first time next month. My friend and I have decided we can carb up before the half marathon eating potatoes, mac & cheese, and stuffing before the race rather than pasta. Thanksgiving dinner is one of my favorites - so I'm really exciting about trying it out.

We LOVE the LTT! I think the food is good but I REALLY like the atmosphere.

I am surprised so many people like the Biergarten. Maybe I'll have to give it a second try. We did not get what all the fuss was about (and we are pretty laid back - not picky people). I felt like we were crammed into a very small space - moving around to get the food was quite difficult. We were put at a table with a friendly but LOUD family of three who kept arguing with each other. The music was interesting but quite far away and hard to see. The waitress was very quiet and very hard to find! We are usually very happy with our meals at WDW and this one went on our "never again" list. Perhaps we need to give it another go? I would love to know why everyone else loves it.

We had such a bad experience for lunch, that I cannot convince anyone in my family to try it again. We had a server who never returned to our table except to drop a check. We had to ask other servers for refills on our drinks. Our food was awful. But, I see they took that horrible turkey sandwich off the menu. It was like a bad piece of cold cut turkey (slimey and mushy). My son's macaroni came out like orange mush. I asked them for another serving (or if they could find me an actual noodle in the mush). My husband had the pot roast which was 90% fat, and 10% meat. Because they get such rave reviews, maybe we just had a bad day. I love the atmosphere. I really thought we would enjoy it.

I try every visit to get my husband to give it another chance, but he won't. Oh, well. I look forward to reading better reviews!!!

We tried it last month, and loved it. It was all good (even the mac-n-cheese, but I didn't think it was as good as regular Stouffer's).

Service was good.

Atmosphere was good.

It was all good. And being "free," it was even better.

Even if I had paid OOP, it would have been good, and we'll be going back.

If you're a decent cook, I'm sure your turkey dinner is much better than LTT's. IMO, LTT is on par or maybe a little below Cracker Barrel's turkey dinner, which is a big step down from all the homemade turkey dinners I've made or eaten at family's homes. I don't know about other places in the country, but everyone I know in the south (aka known as country style cooks) prepares a much better meal than they serve there. There's no comparison.

Hmmm.....when we went in June 2008, we had a waiter named Rory who fit that description and he was by far one of the best servers we have ever had anywhere!

That is him!!!!!!!!!!!! Seriously, that guy is my favorite waiter of all time. When the hostess told me that he only works a few days a week and that we'd probably not get to see him on our last trip, we were all bummed. Oddly enough, my wife brought him up today randomly.

If you love to eat, LTT is the bomb. We try to have dinner there every trip but you have to save room for the apple pie and ice cream at the end. Simply awesome!

I just booked a July trip to the Boardwalk last night...........and the first thing I am going to do is make a reservation at the Liberty Tree!

I must say I was dreading going to liberty tree. I'm just not into "thanksgiving" food too much and the thought of stouffers food didn't appeal to me either. I made reservations and cancelled in years past. This past December I stuck with it and went and loved it! Really surprised me! It's one of my favorites now and on my must do every trip list. Even better it's in magic kingdom so no traveling to get there.

We're trying LTT for lunch on our next trip. We wanted a sit-down meal in the MK and there aren't many options (we're doing CP for breakfast on another day) so hopefully it lives up to the good reviews here!

i've got it booked for this summer and am really looking forward to it. We can't get turkey in China and really miss it! It will be like Thanksgiving in June for us! Unless the turkey is awful, we will be very happy there. We're doing lunch because the boys have a bigger appetite then and are tired at dinner, but I am thinking of booking it twice. I just cant get excited about the CP ADR lunch the other MK day.

My family is a real "meat and potatoes" type family. For us, it doesn't get any better than the Liberty Tree Tavern....perhaps with the exception being the Biergarten. Those two places are the highlight of our Disney dining experience. Our third favorite place is yet another place that doesn't register on most people's favorites list: Boatwrights at Port Orleans Riverside. I had the best steak ever there a few years ago and have been unable to make it back since.

You just named our two favorite restaurants at Disney. :) For my birthday we went to Biergarten, and my wife wants to go to LTT for her birthday in March. They're both great!

I have not been to the Boatwrights though, so I'm going to have to check that out. Thanks for mentioning it!

Not a fan. Mrs U had undercooked (ie functionally raw) chicken there some years ago.
We've never gone back.
Should add that the only reason we went at all was because we were going to stay for the evening parade and it was the only place we could get in reasonably early w/o an ADR....

We love LTT. It's a must-do each trip. Was extra special when they had character dining, but still love it nonetheless.

We love it - in fact we often have 2 meals there during our vacations. They always do a great job for our food allergic dd to boot!
