Am I the only one who LOVES Liberty Tree Tavern?

hmmm, I have never wanted to eat there, reading the plaque out front where it says something about Stauffer's - not a fan of pre packaged food. So that has always kept me from wanting to go there. And now that the Characters are gone, meahhhh.
If I have to eat at MK, I prefer Tony's.

Maybe I should not be such a snob, because "meat and potatoes" is my family's motto too :rotfl:

I love LTT, but I prefer the lunch menu, I wish they would either bring back the characters, or at least serve the same menu all day.

I agree with this. We went to LTT for lunch (the last time we ate there was for dinner back when the characters were there) this past September and loved it so much that we are doing it again for our May trip. I agree about the characters, I really do wish they would bring them back, Minnie, Goofy, Donald, Chip & Dale were all so cute in their colonial clothes.

I am one of the pickiest people I know as far as food goes, my regular diet is far from varied and I did not like LTT or Boatrights. DH didn't like Boatrights either but he liked LTT. I think what I ordered was part of it; but do not intend to venture back.

Count us in for LTT!!! We've eaten there five times in as many trips and it's always been great! We've done lunch, dinner, and even their breakfast while CP was closed for refurb.

However, without the characters, it does lack something. I think it's too too bad they took them away. I wonder what exactly was behind that decision....

This is one of DH's favorite places for dinner. He insists we eat there at least once per trip.

I feel exactly the same way. We loved our dinner there, but loved it a lot more with the characters.:sad1:

Why DID they take away the characters?

We love LLT for lunch! Its become a must do for us. Just something about taking a break from the hustle of the crowds and enjoying a nice sit down lunch :)

I like LTT. :)

It gets panned a lot because people like to turn up their noses at the Stouffer's mac n cheese. They don't like frozen food, you know. :snooty:

As if over at the Crystal Palace they are plucking feathers off the chicken. Nothing in the other WDW restaurants starts out frozen and in boxes hauled off the SYSCO truck. :rotfl:

It's just silliness. If you go to LTT when it isn't crowded, you can take a look-see around the place. Great attention to detail in there. And good food, too. :)

Well I for one am glad they don't have the characters anymore, as we are a family of adults. We've eaten lunch at LTT before and found it delicious (I could have made a meal from the salad and rolls alone). Since those are included in the evening dinner, I thought we'd give it a try on our next trip.

It's not that we don't like it, we just don't want to pay $30 for it. ;)

We will be eating there on Saturday. Just a quick 4 day trip and no kids (yaHoo). We will be eating late as M.K. is open until 12:00 a.m. What would be the best choice for dinner? Do they have the Pot Roast in the evening?
Thanks!

We really like LTT but haven't gone since they got rid of the characters. We'll be going there for lunch for the first time in May and are excited.

We have a reservation for dinner on 4th of july. Feels like a perfect place to honour your country on your big day!

We ate here back when there were characters and will truely miss them!

We ate our first dinner here back in the 97, we had eaten lunch before. We loved Dinner then. Over the years we would have dinner and each time we thought the food declined.

Maybe the food has improved since they have dropped the character meals. I'm sure we will try it again someday, we left the last time some 6 or 7 years ago and decided we would not be returning for dinner gain. We still enjoy lunch.

My family is a real "meat and potatoes" type family. For us, it doesn't get any better than the Liberty Tree Tavern....perhaps with the exception being the Biergarten. Those two places are the highlight of our Disney dining experience. Our third favorite place is yet another place that doesn't register on most people's favorites list: Boatwrights at Port Orleans Riverside. I had the best steak ever there a few years ago and have been unable to make it back since.

I have never been to any of the restaurants you mentioned .. but have been to the Grand Floridan Cafe for dinner and had steak.. it was very good.. all the kids loved it , which surprised me...

We are huge fans of LTT as well! I wasn't convinced that we'd like it at first, but in making late ADRs we were stuck with it on our MK day... and man, was it amazing! Dinner just blew me away!

When it coes to table service restaurants in the Magic Kingdom I have been to Libery Tree Tavern, Tony's Town Squaire, and The Plaza. Well my favorite one is Liberty Tree Tavern.

LTT has been one of my DMs "musts" for many years. Our last night at WDW is always spent at the Magic Kingdom and typically includes dinner at LTT.

I was always just a little lukewarm to the place. Until I had dinner there last August. It was wonderful. So much better than I remembered it being the years before. The rolls with butter, the flank steak. The green beans! (note: I am not a green bean fan. LTTs? amazing!) Yummy.

We were sitting down recently, talking about our ADRs for our trip this summer, and she mentioned that it would be okay if we skipped LTT. Maybe bump it off the list and try some place new. I quickly stepped in to say NO WAY. It is now one of my must. My how the tables have turned.

We went for the first time in Nov 2008 on our 4th trip to WDW. We now know what we were missing. The food is just good. We went for lunch because we get enough turkey and the trimmings at Thanksgiving. We're going back for lunch in Oct. I have to wait three months til I can make my ADRs.

Wheniwasyoung, no you can't get the pot roast for dinner, it's only on the lunch menu. Dinner is a fixed menu-turkey and the trimmings.

Ya gotta pay those guys.

There is no menu for dinner. It is family style with flank steak/roast beef, roast turkey, roast pork, mac'cheese, mashed potatoes, green beans, salad, rolls, dressing, gravy and dessert,, which is some fruit(apple?) pie with ice cream. I asked just for a scoop of ice cream and got a bowl with 3 scoops twice the size of a normal one..
Put me down as a huge LTT fan. In '09 we left on Saturday after a ball game, drove to southern Georgia, finished the next day, headed to MK for our ADR for LTT on the last night they ever had characters. It's on the list for October.
