Am I the only one not able to find cheap car rental rates for May???

Okay, we were spoiled by last year's rate at Dollar of $109 (INC. all taxes) for 8 days. I've been trying to use codes from Mousesavers and my Entertainment book and I can't find anything below $190, inc. taxes. Can anyone walk me through this? I'm looking at May 16 - 23.

You can get the midsize SUV from Alamo that some of us have been booking the last few days. Click on the $15 off e-coupon link in the upper right-hand corner of their home page and then enter Rate Code BY and ID 430710 (from mousesavers). I booked the first week of May for $150 including taxes and your dates come up with the same rate. It's not $109 but it's a great rate for an SUV. I also discovered from another DISer that an additional driver is included for FREE (I didn't notice it on my confirmation).

Do you pay by credit card when you reserve a car or van? Or can you reserve one and lock in a rate now and pay when you pick the vehicle up?

That's really strange because I did it with your dates just before posting and I came up with $150.

Ah! We'd be picking up the vehicle around noon on May 16th and returning it at about 6:30 p.m. on the 23rd...maybe that made the difference?

That would be it - it's an 8 day rental rather than 7 days.

I just used these codes and got a convertible for April 30 to May 5 for $158 with tax. I am sooooo excited but I will try to keep my mouth shut about it and surprise my sister. This is my first time getting a rental while in Orlando so now that I have the vehicle I have to figure out how to get to Disney!!! Thanks !!!!!

The rental car company will give you a map and directions. There is nothing like driving in a convertable. All of your cares seem to get blown away with the wind.....and anything that is loose in the back seat. That is a great time of year for one too. Have a great trip.
