I'm so excited for Pandora! Avatar is easily one of my favourite films. DH is more interested in Star Wars though, except I haven't seen any so...

this is pretty much how i am..im excited for all three expansions because they re new experiences....im excited for Pandora and Star Wars because they really seem to be unique experiences especially PandoraI'm over the moon about all three expansions. Done right they could all be spectacular in their own way for their own targeted demographics. While I am only a moderate fan compared to others on the dis (though I'm certainly considered a crazy fan by people in the real world) and therefore have less information upon which to base my opinion, my very favorite thing about WDW since I was a very small child back in the 70's/80's has always been the immersive experience and assault on the senses. All three new lands offer a huge opportunity to push the limits on that in different ways.
True, not a lot of people talk about Avatar. But a huge number of people internalized it, so what they got from the movie was a personal experience for them, and not something they would talk much about. I'd like to compare some of the reactions to the movie as almost in line with a spiritual or religious connection, more than just an action movie on another world.
interesting what do you base this on? im also really excited about this project and think it has huge potentialStar Wars is my favourite film of all time, whereas I really dislike Avatar. However I expect Avatar Land to blow Star Wars Land out of the water. I actually expect AK to be the all round best park in WDW once it opens.

i think for me this goes back to is the IP adaptable to a themed experienceNot speaking for Letterhead, and I certainly wouldn't say 'blow out of the water', but I do think Avatar might be a better overall experience. Star Wars will be a self-contained world in a theme-park of other self-contained worlds. Once you walk out of that land and into the Toy Story area, all illusion is gone. If done right, Avatar, by the nature of the park it's in, will flow more seamlessly into the area around it.
I still don't understand Disney building a whole land about a property they don't own...
I am completely *meh* about Pandora - "whatever." I still don't understand Disney building a whole land about a property they don't own
Well Disney built star tours before they owned Star Wars.

I'm not excited about pandora itself but I am very excited for how it's transforming more of the park for late evenings now. We rarely go to animal kingdom or don't stay long because it's just too hot there for us.
Considering how many star wars and avatar fans that aren't disney fans there are, it should be really interesting on the crowds when these start to open.
this will definitely change the way we tour DAK and i ve got to think many people will be excited to tour at night hereYea it might not surpass MK for us, or our wonderful WS evenings-but Rivers of Light along with Pandora and night safaris as well as EE at night will put at least 2 nights each trip at AK. We never did more than one morning there in the past. Hoping some new dining and drinks open as well.
that's a hoot!They don't?

I was pretty much thinking the same thing. Bar the terrible dinosaur addition around Primeval Whirl, Animal Kingdom is up there with DisneySea as the best executed overall theme for a park. Not speaking for Letterhead, and I certainly wouldn't say 'blow out of the water', but I do think Avatar might be a better overall experience.
