Am I crazy??

Oh Noah will be one at the end of the month and I'm not nearly caught up. What helped me was not scrapping in order. I started trying to go from day one and working my way up but I realized I was getting hung up on some pages so I decided that I would scrap whatever pictures called to me the day I sat down to do them. LOL so I've now done Thanksgiving but I haven't done my October disney trip and I just did mother's day.

Another thing that got me going was actually heading to a crop. I ahd lots of motivation there.

Just start it.. pick out that all important photo and put that page together!!! May i suggest picking the photo of the Colts outfit and talk about how D's favorite Auntie travelled all over the state of Indiana to find just the right one..and when the "old bitty" complained to Auntie Nan about not knowing the size of my child's clothes that I told her what I thought of her! You can do this!!!

DD is 15...about to take driver's ed.. do you really want to wait that long to start his scrapbook??? I have their baby books..but not a scrapbook for them..and guess what.. I have pages sketched, papers, pictures and what not pulled.... maybe I should work with you on this... I've got 3 kids to catch up on!!!

i must confess that i have not scrapped many of my little man's pics either. really not that many at all. i too am afraid that they will not be perfect.
so if you're crazy Brooke than so am I!

I am sitting here putting off scrapping number 3's baby pictures because of the same thing. I've laid out a few different layouts and none of them look that good to me. I'm so frustrated. My scrapbook room is a mess because I have everything out and can't get past this.

You'd think by number 3 I simply wouldn't care anymore. I've certainly given up on so many other things . . . keeping the house clean . . . having the kids clothes match . . . knowing what my kids are doing . . . fixing meals that don't come from a package . . .

Ok, there are lots of members of this crazy club, huh?? I so want to do this because there are lots of pics of me or my brother that no one remembers the stories behind. Just "oh that's a cute pic. . .you were maybe, about, seems like it was, (fill in the number) months old" I want to do this while I remember!! I'm starting this weekend!

Nan--that story definitely has to go on the Colts page! DH is going to load up some photos tonight on our PhotoBucket--I'll have to load up the Colts one so you can see it!! And OT--I'm so sad about Coach Dungy retiring!!

Jenny--I can't believe Noah is about to be one! It seems like he was just born!!

It's so hard for me to start with a group of pics other than the first ones. Just because I am SO--shall we politely call it "detail-oriented"--and my brain can't comprehend starting with something else. BUT, I'm going to take everyone's advice and just jump in this weekend!!

I havent read the replies yet but I just had to post.

My DD is 13. I didn't start to scrapbook until she was 7. I had very few baby pictures of her.

There are some pages with spelling mistakes (obvious ones) or a lil design boo boo's that *I* can see. I show every page I do to my parents (they are supportive in my addiction er I mean hobby) and to my DD.

My DD loves to look back at all of pages in her books. She never notices the mistakes. She just sees the memories I put in a book for her. She sees the love, the time, my joy poured into those books.

Of course!! His Wally has his own chair in the nursery!! DH is already planning when to order Red Sox stuff for DS to wear on opening day!

I knew it was coming... Once that announced Lauren had returned to Tampa Bay, I knew he would do the right thing.. as much as we will all miss him terribly... he has given 28+ years to the NFL/football... it's time for him and his family to enjoy life together!!!!
Now, to see what this will do with the rest of our players!

It's not that I don't WANT to work on them. . .I'd rather work on them than any other pics. . .but I have this bizarre "fear" almost that I'll do it wrong. I've agonized for a week over what to put on the dang cover page.

Is this ridiculous? If I were reading this, I'd say, "yes, it's ridiculous. Just start and see where it goes." But, I'm the one stuck in this. Give me words of encouragement here!! Or just a slap on the back of the head. . .whatever works!! Does anyone else ever feel this way or should I go to the scrappers' loony bin??

OHMIGOSH, Brooke!!!!! This is exactly the thing that keeps me from scrapping!! These are the same words I have been saying for years!! And, I think the more special the theme, ie: your little guy, the harder it is to get started because we want those extra special books to be just right!!!

No, you're not crazy!! Well, maybe you are, and if so, we both are!! LOL!!
I keep telling myself that I can redo a page if I'm not satisfied with it, like before I attach the photos. You /we can always redo the cover for the book, etc. But, I still have trouble getting started, too, because I'm afraid won't be satisfied. Meanwhile, are we going to be 80 years old before we get the darn thing done!! LOL!!

I guess my advice to you would be the advice I give myself, is to just get started, and the love you have for DS and DH, etc will come through in your albums!!

SIOH don't feel bad I've gotten the same way about my DD's album...Finally I started using all the layouts I do at my monthlytechnique class. They are cute and I get 3 per class it takes the stress out of alot of the random pics I have and just don't know what to do with.

Again, I so appreciate everyone's support and understanding. I've got everything sorted into chronological order (not going to scrap that way, but they're sorted so I can find them!). So, now I'm just waiting on that long weekend to get here!!

I finally did it! I started scrapping the baby album!

I am so excited and relieved that it's started. I've been stressing over it so much and I couldn't scrap anything else because I HAVE to scrap cronologically, (yes I'm a twit).

Now that I'm started I'm really on a roll. I'll probably be up late tonight scrapping. I don't love the pages, but it's so nice to have them done and I realized it doesn't really matter that they don't knock my socks off. At least I can still remember to write in it.
