I just booked AKL std view for May 6th -14th with the AP discount it came to 1476 with tax. :yay:
The AAA rate was 2250. That's a pretty good savings.
Was is worth it though? I have to still buy the AP. It's 477.12 plus the other tix I was going to try to get from undercover tourist or some place like that.
Our plan this trip is to go to WDW and Universal/IOA and Sea World. We are renting a car. I was going to stay off site but my dh really wants the emh's.

Am I thinking this wrong? :confused3
Am I really going to save that much? We are not doing dining since 3 of the days we won't even be there. We are trying to do this trip cheap since the last 3 costs a sm fortune. :scared1:
We are only going to allow one table meal at wdw. The rest are going to be kid's meals. :rotfl2:

Yes, buy the AP
The resort is so beautiful, and perfect for a family with a car / going off property.
The resort itself is a vacation; being at Disney is frosting on the cake.

My son is 10. We have been going to Disney every year (4-6x per) since he celebrated his 2nd birthday.Do the math... My husband just rolls his eyes...

We have also done the Sea World thing, and it was fun.We ALWAYS, ALWAYS stay on property and have stayed everywhere except Boardwalk.

We spend alot of time at Dolphin because of the Fla discount rate and "points." I actually like AKL better...

Overall, I think that AKL is the most beautifully themed resort on property.
I'm sure your family will love it, I know I do!

thank you! We stayed there last Jan for 2 nts and LOVED it! I was just going to tryt he value resorts this time since we are trying to save but I just can't do it and that rate was too good to pass up. I have never stayed at the dol before but we loved the BC and YC. My son is 6 yr old and is a big animal lover so I know we will love it!

That stinks...I just tried to book a room may 2-5 at AKL with my AP, and they said no AP rooms were available:confused:

You were going to buy tickets anyway, right? So, while an AP's best value for park entry is entering the parks at least 11 days in the AP period, it's still ultimately a bargain for you.
You are effectively paying $1953.12 for your room, but that entitles YOU (the AP holder) to unlimited park admission during your stay; you're still saving almost $300 over the AAA rate, and you would have had to still buy your own non-AP park admission.

I'm not sure my explanation is making sense, but TRUST me - you're completely sane, and an intelligent bargain-shopper to boot!

Thanks! I was hoping I had it right.

I think there is a conference the weekend of the 2-5th because CSR is booked and so is the hilton wdw. We switched our days because DH couldn't get off on the 4th so it worked out. I hope it's not bad when we are there. The last time we went there was a HUGE tech conference and it was ridiculous. On top of all the convention people there were thousands of Brazillian tour groups! :scared1:
That was in Jan and we waiting over 45 min in lines!!
