WOW!!!! I didn't realize that you had to have a certain income bracket to go to WDW.

You can thank all of the promotions that WDW puts out like a family of 4 can vacation at WDW for $1600.00. When I 1st booked our 1st vacation I expected it to cost alot more too.

Sorry, but I think it is very rude to say that people are "Six Flaggish" I guess maybe next time you should vacation in the "Hamptons" maybe then you won't find us "Six Flaggish" people there.

Oh by the way. I have a Six Flag Season pass and so doesn't my entire family. So yeah, you are being snobbish!!!!

I am absolutely positive that my six flags in Georgia is a whole lot different than yours in Mass. Come visit for an hour and see all the delinquents. It's not income that I am so much talking about as it is the rudeness of mainly young america. I was raised to respect everyone. I don't cuss especially in front of kids or in public. I say yes maam and yes sir to people that are barely ten years older than me. It's just a respect thing in the south. I don't understand why many young people, meaning high school age, have no respect or common decency. Though I may look like I just graduated high school myself, I'm 25 with a husband, son, and just graduated with my B.S. in early childhood education. Now I'm starting my masters. We are by no means rich or living comfortably. I don't work right now because I am a stay at home mom and will start going to school at night. My DH works but hasn't finished his degree. So we are a one income home and live pay check to pay check. It's not income, it's not six flags, it's the gang members that hang around six flags at least mine in atl.

It's refreshing to see families enjoying six flags. I would love to be able to go. My DH and I both love roller coasters and Atl has some good ones. I just don't enjoy feeling on edge and intimidating when enjoying a day at the park because of gang members. That is what I personally see as Six flaggish. Please keep in mind that not all six flags are like this and there are many many six flags that have been kept up and are in good cities. As much as I love Atlanta, it's a rough city.

I apologize if my comments offended anyone. I was not speaking about a socioeconimic or racial group in particular. I remember our DD first trip to WDW in 2004 and bragged when I got home about all the wonderful CM and vacationeers. Our last trip, June 9 our DD11 was pushed out of they way by an adult male so he could get a seat on the monorail. We don't even say "shut up" around our house and the F bomb was dropped several times by others in line around us. There seemed to be more cheap Disney merchandise this year. I just think Walt would be very upset if he saw WDW today.

I didn't come across any really rude or offensive people while at WDW in June but I completely understand what you mean by six flaggish. I would not set foot in Six Flags over Georgia in Atlanta. They have lowered the prices there also for the summer and I have heard it is horrible. The trouble makers are out in force. It has definitely become a teen hang out from what I have noticed from last summer. When I was a child it was a great place to visit. I can't stand standing by a group of people who are using the F word or the Lord's name in vain. It makes me so angry. But if you say anything to them they will cuss you out and act like they are going to beat you up. Also, last summer, line jumpers were horrible. I saw a couple stand up for themselves when a couple teens jumped in front of them and about twenty other people. The teens cussed them out. If those teens would have said that stuff to me I probably would have got myself into some trouble. And even though I call them teens it was two boys that were about 6'3 200lbs. Security should be amped up. Sorry for the rant but everyone was talking about six flags and gang banger trouble makers so I had to put in my two cents.

Also, you're not snobby at all. I expect that when people are in public they should dress decent, talk decent, and act decent. That has nothing to do with income, social status, race or religion. I can easily go to walmart, marshalls, or ross and find clothes that cover my butt and don't contain foul language. I don't like cussing in public or otherwise and it should at least not be done around kids. I don't know what has happened to the common decency that people use to have. If having morals and expecting others to have morals and self respect is snobbish than I guess I am.

Unfortunately we cant control other peoples behaviors so if some people feel the need to be rude then they are going to be rude its all about the enviornment in which they live whether its little tolerance of rude behavior or its nobody cares what you say or do its beyond our control and its unfortunate for others who just want a peaceful and calm vacation, its too bad we couldnt just ban them from Disney

Last time we were there I notice that the employees hired to sweep up the walkways seem to have a 'don't give a darn attitude" they would stand there and talk to one another and sweep not realizing that they were completely missing the trash on the walks. It use to be clean there but for some reason the walks have been getting more messy! Maybe they have private sector employees and not Disney employees! As for the rude people they will be everywhere. Even the maid service has changed! Three o'clock pm and you want to rest up for the night time visit and you go to your room and NO one has been in!!

I guess you're right. I mean we are all going to have our opinions about how people act and how rude people can be. Throughout the country, people will be rude in different ways and people have higher and lower tolerances of things. I personally want to move from Macon, GA. It's getting that bad. But then again it's that bad everywhere so where would I move too? LOL I just wanted to take up for the OP because she was getting raked over the coals for so called snobby comments. Her question was whether this is being snobby or not and I say no it's not snobby. I just wanted her to know that there are people who feel the exact same way she does.

I am unsure how any place would be able to straight out keep as you posters would call them "deliquents" out of Six Flags or any theme parks for that matter out. By no means would I compare Six Flags to WDW at all, Six Flags cannot hold a candle to WDW, but for people to say what they are saying is pretty much racist in my eyes, though no one has pin pointed a specific race you are putting down people just the same because of their financial standings or where they are from or their actions. That is pretty sad to see in 2008.

Yes, I would say Six Flags does draw all different kinds of people, but Six Flags is also more reasonable and are located usually in the outter banks of suburbs where people can drive and do day trips. Where unless you live in are near Orlando or in Florida, you are not going to see that in WDW.

Also, you are going to see alot of camps at Six Flags and sometimes these maybe inner city camps, so because they don't fit the bill of your standards they are not allowed to go???? That is ridiculous to say!!! I think that is pretty selfish to say.

As for the poster who said my Six Flags is different I have been to Six Flags in New Jersey and there are some differences but I am not going to keep my children from going.

Okay, this is my last post on the subject. I never made a reference to anyone's socioeconomic or racial background. I was just very disappointed in the manners I observed during our last trip. No, it was not the heat or humidity it was manners. Adults pushing children to get a better seat, adults using language toward their children/family that was inappropriate. Our children learn from example. As a teacher I find myself not only teaching the three R's but also manners and respect, something that I am finding out (the hard way) is not always being taught at home where it should be.

Not all housekeepers know how to, or have the time to make towel animals. I'd much prefer my room to be cleaned, and have no towel animals, than to have a menagerie and a dirty room.

I agree. I'm not staying WDW because they have great towel animals at their resorts, believe me. I could take a cruise to Mexico for much less and get towel animals up the wazoo. Give me a clean room over Dumbo any day.

We were in WDW Dec 07/Jan 08. We enjoyed our trip. The one thing we noticed that really bugged us was line cutters. We are from the mid west and were always taught to wait in line. You say "please" "thank you" and "hold a door for people when there hands are full". I'm sure you get what I'm saying it's common sense stuff. It's amazing how many people we ran into who would just come up and cut in front of you. While sitting for parades they would actually sit next to us and push us over so they'd have more room. For gosh saks....they should have sat somewhere else where they could have fit or found a spot earlier like everyone else that had been there for 45 minutes waiting for the parade. It won't stop us from going back it's just part of our memories from the trip.

This will also be my last post on this topic. We all could go on and on about it. First of all, Six Flags could kick out kids who are jumping in front of people in line and cussing at other guests. Just last year a boy was beat up by a gang at Six Flags over Georgia. It was in the news. You can't tell me they are not there. They all wear the same color outfits red, blue, white, etc. And no I'm not counting church groups who all wear the same shirt. Their pants are pulled down so low that I see their underwear. Yes, a dress code can be enforced and rowdy behavior can be dealt with. I never said anything about inner city kids or camps. I never said anything what so ever about race. I have seen all races doing this. Finances have nothing to do with it either. But when prices go down more gangs go to Six Flags. It's cheaper than a day at the movies or mall. However, yes I am putting down people for their actions if their actions are vulgar and rude including cussing around my family, wearing shirts with vulgar language, cussing at guests of the park, and literally beating people up or intimidating others with their words. All walks of life are capable of doing this not one certain race or gender. And I dare someone to act that way in Disney! They will be kicked to the curb.

Yes, you are right. Six flags draws different people and is in convenient locations. I loved going to Six Flags when I was younger. We went many times during the summer. I admit I have never been to any other Six Flags, that is why I have been talking about just mine and said others may be very nice and safe. By no means do I want to completely shelter my son. However, a toddler repeats whatever he hears. I don't want him saying the s word or f word because we are around people that use it in public. I will ask people to stop talking like that if I am near them in a restaurant or in line. Otherwise I walk away and avoid confrontation. And what is ridiculous about expecting kids and adults to be decent? Why is that selfish? How is that a high standard? My goodness, what has the world come to? I actually expect for people to have respect for people around them. How dare I be so bold as to say don't cuss in front of my kid or don't jump in line or don't beat me up? Wow!!

As far as your six flagish family is concerned, I am not talking to your family unless you cuss in public, act vulgar in public, jump in front of people in line and cuss them out or beat people up. I'm positive you don't do that. That's why I said it's great to see a nice family there. I just don't understand why this has anything to do with race or socioeconomic status. It's not racism. It's morals!! That's it. I, at least, am talking about all people who need self respect and the common decency to speak and act respectfully to others. My Six Flags seems to draw people who have little to none. But look at the statistics, Atlanta has a very high crime rate. Six Flags is in Atlanta so locals go there. So it can be concluded that a rough city equals a rough crowd at the park. That's easy to understand. However, good respectful families like my uncle's have season passes. It's definitely not everyone.

And yes, I would be very happy in the Hamptons if I could afford it.

Because Six Flags is a family park, we expect guests to behave appropriately. Violating our park policies may be cause for ejection from the park without refund. For more information, please review the park policies below.
BEHAVIOR
We expect all guests to behave in a family-friendly manner. Line jumping, profanity and unruly behavior are offensive to park guests and may be cause for ejection without refund. Guests are not permitted to save places in line, bypass others in line, or exit the line and return to the same place for any reason. Guests exiting a line must go to the back of the line if they choose to return.

DRESS CODE
In keeping with our family-friendly atmosphere, and for health and safety reasons, Six Flags strictly enforces a dress code. Proper attire must be worn at all times, including shirts and appropriate footwear. Clothing with rude, vulgar or offensive language or graphics is not permitted, and shirts cannot be turned inside-out as a solution. Bathing suits may be worn only in waterpark areas. Park admission may be denied if clothing is deemed by management to be inappropriate.

LANGUAGE
Guests using profanity or abusive language, symbols or gestures may be ejected from the park without refund.

PARK POLICY COMPLIANCE
In addition to the Six Flags Guest Code of Conduct, guests are required to comply with all local, state and federal laws, as well as individual park policies, rules and instructions posted or otherwise listed.

SMOKING
Six Flags allows smoking only in areas identified as designated smoking areas. All other areas in the parks are smoke-free, and smoking is strictly prohibited. Guests smoking outside of the designated areas will be ejected from the park without refund.

PETS
Pets are not permitted in the park, with the exception of service animals. Dogs and cats may be boarded for a fee at our kennel, located outside the main entrance.

FOOD, DRINKS AND COOLERS
Food, beverages or coolers may not be brought into the park.

ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES
No alcoholic beverages can be brought into Six Flags. Alcoholic beverages purchased in the park may not leave the premises in which they are purchased. Excessive consumption of alcohol is cause for ejection from the park without refund.

SEASON PASSES AND RE-ENTRY
Season Pass holders must present their passes to gain entrance to the park. Season Pass entry is only valid once a day. Guests who leave the park and plan to return must get their hands stamped before they leave the park at the exit/re-entry gate. When guests return to the park, they must enter through the re-entry gate with a proper hand stamp. Transferring hand stamps is a violation of Six Flags policies and is strictly prohibited.

COMMERICAL PHOTOGRAPHY
By entering the park, each guest grants Six Flags Great America the right to film, videotape, or photograph him/her on park property for any reason without payment or consideration. All Six Flags Great America rides, shows, and attractions are protected by copyright. Guests must have written permission to use photographs and/or videotape of Six Flags Great America images for commercial broadcasting, advertising, marketing or publishing in any medium.

COMMUNITY RELATIONS/DONATIONS

RIDER RESPONSIBILITY
There is an inherent risk in participating in any amusement ride. We expect riders to exercise good judgment and act in a responsible manner. Guests must also obey all oral and written warnings and properly use all ride safety equipment provided. Guests who do not comply with ride rules may be ejected from the park without refund. Please refer to specific guidelines posted at the entrance of every ride.

RIDE RESTRICTIONS
Safety is our number-one priority. Guests with certain body proportions, or of certain heights and/or weights may not be able to enjoy certain rides if the safety restraints will not operate as designed. Specific ride information is available at the ride and at Guest Relations. For your convenience, a one-time height check is available at Guest Relations and Lost Parents so our smaller guests don't have to be re-measured at each attraction.

LINE JUMPING
Line jumping is strictly prohibited. Guests are not permitted to save places in line or exit the line and return for any reason. Violators will be ejected without a refund.

LOOSE ARTICLES
Loose articles are not permitted on most rides and should be left with non-riders or secured in lockers. Six Flags and its employees are not responsible for lost or stolen items. Loose articles of any kind (including but not limited to purses, backpacks, and beverage containers) may not be taken past the queue entrance and cannot be left on the load/unload platform of the following rides: American Eagle; Batman: The Ride; The Dark Knight Coaster; Iron Wolf; Raging Bull; Superman: Ultimate Flight. Cell phones, pagers, or other small items must be secured in cargo pockets, zippered jacket pockets, or waist packs. All loose articles which cannot be secured must be left in a locker or with a non-rider prior to entering the queue line.

RESTRICTED AREAS
Guests are not permitted to enter restricted areas, including ride and backstage areas. Personal items that are lost in ride areas should be reported to the ride operator and Guest Relations. Six Flags will make every effort to retrieve lost articles after normal operating hours. Guests entering restricted areas may be ejected from the park without refund.

TICKET OPTIONS
We offer daily tickets and Season Passes to Six Flags Great America. Children two years old and under are free, and discount daily tickets are available for guests under 54" tall. Visit our tickets page for pricing and purchase information.
