Always Get Complimentary Upgrades At AKL?

I will be happy with any upgrade at all. A deluxe savahanna view would be very nice! As far as a complimentary upgrade to concierge at AKL, it is very rare to be upgraded to this. But you never know! I have definatly heard of the other deluxe resort upgrade to concierge. Happy planning!

The upgrade situation at AKL is from std. up. I can practically gurantee an upgrade request from Savannah to Concierge will only serve to make the front desk CM's have a little less respect for you.

I sincerely believe the upgrades are something they like to do at random and IMO they (the CM's) seem quite put off by actual face to face requests for "freebies".

I was not asking if I would get an upgrade to concierge I was asking if there was something higher than savannah view other than concierge-I guess I should have been more clear-sorry.Apparently,there is a deluxe savannah room-which was what I was asking.As in my last post I mentioned that you can sometimes get an upgrade with an additional charge which I'm SURE would be the case with concierge.I would never expect a concierge room for no extra cost.But,if budget allows concierge could be an option.
Again,asking for a better room at check-in is not uncommon or rude if addressed properly.

Kim, I wasn't preaching (sorry if I seemed so), I just missed your real question, I guess.

I agree that if asked properly NOTHING is out of line but how many people do you think have the people and interpersonal skills to come across as anything less than a freeloader? Unfotunately I think very few ('m not sure I do)...Thats why generally I think it best to suggest to path of least resistance, so to speak...

Just got back yesterday from AKL.
We booked a standard room, but at check-in
i asked if there was any chance for an invitational
upgrade. Unfortunatly, i was turned down. BUT--
i did get a pool view, so it was better than a
standard.
