Wow. I wonder if dzneprincess and I saw the same film. I thought it cute eye candy and nothing else. It was funny and while the plot was a little weak (they had to come up with something), I am glad to see they didn't go into any freaky science experiment to give backstory into what made them talk. They just did.

Besides, DW loved it!

Okay, so it is a 'fluff' kids movie.
But, for that, it really was nice.
I didn't want to poke my eyes out, and I didn't nap thru it when I took DS and his friend. They liked it.

I had that darned 'Hula Hoop' song in my head!!!!

The opening was pure Disneyesque (think Chip and Dale).

It has a really sweet message to the story line.

Those chipmunks playing with all of the toys, zooming around in the RC car!!

Then, doing rap music with all of the lights and back-up, backup dancers, etc..

I really cracked up after the credits started, and it showed the bad-guy with real squirrels, trying to get them to sing!

If I am mistaken, I think that was a review she quoted, not her own opinion.

I took my DD11, DD13, DN13 and my DMom (>60) to see it and we all liked it. Sure, it won't win any awards, but it was just so cute.

DH took our oldest 3 kids...10, 9 and almost 8 yrs old. The kids LOVED it. My DH enoyed it too. They all were rambling on about their favorite parts..even a few days later.

PS..I wouldn't let any critic review keep me from going....especially for this type of movie. go see it (if interested) for what it is: a family movie...not an oscar award winning artsy film.

Same here! I really thought that 'EARL' was miscast. Too old for the part.
The special effects SHOULD get a Oscar nomination!

DH and I saw it the day after Christmas and enjoyed the story. I rarely listen to what those darn critics say.

My mom and I saw this on Saturday because Enchanted was sold out. It was really cute.

I took my kids and two of their friends to see it the other day. I'll admit, I really had zero interest in seeing this movie, but it's what they wanted to see. I actually enjoyed it. It was a cute movie.

We took all 3 kids to see it. My youngest is 3, and she sat through it. I thought the movie was really cute, better then I thought it would be. All my kids really enjoyed it.
