3 of us are annual passholders.
We are heading to Universal next week.
One of my college kids said he wanted to go. He is not one of the 3 of us who currently has an AP. I got him an AP as well because it wasn't much more than the 6 day pass anyway.
But when I went to buy EPIC tickets, it wouldn't allow me to get him one even though I have purchased an AP online for him.
Is there a way to get him a pass? I worry they will sell out. We need next Wed. for him.
Thanks.

Are you talking about the annual pass discount for Epic tickets? You can't buy them until the pass is activated. We had the same issue. I bought annual passes and had to buy full price Epic tickets in advance because I couldn't activate my annual pass until we arrived. You should be able to buy one full price Epic ticket on the Universal website.

You can buy the single day Epic ticket at any time, it would just be without the AP discount. I have heard that once the AP is activated, you can go to guest services to request a refund of the AP discount, as long as tickets are still available. YMMV.

What I SHOULD have done, in retrospect, is buy the 5 day pass with an Epic ticket and then exchanged it for the AP later.
UGH.

did you do that? Buy full price Epic tickets?

Yes, I just bought full price Epic tickets.
Yeah as PP said - as long as AP tickets are still available you can go to Guest Services and get the difference back.

It's always possible that policy will change - but I've never heard of anyone not getting the difference back.

It is kind of annoying - but I guess it does keep people from buying an AP to get discount Epic tickets and then not activating the AP.
In my case that would have been a better option as I did not really use the AP well I was there and did a few days at Epic.

In hindsight I should not have activated my AP.

I have seen multiple people across multiple sites say that once you use a ticket to enter Epic, you absolutely cannot upgrade it to an AP. I have not read anything that says otherwise.
Yep - this is direct from Universal guest services:

"Currently, we do not have a date for when Universal Epic Universe will have an Annual Pass option. To upgrade a ticket to an Annual Pass, the Annual Pass you upgrade to must match the number of parks on your ticket. As Universal Epic Universe is not available as an Annual Pass option, there is no way to match the number of parks on your ticket to an Annual Pass. For this reason, any Universal Epic Universe ticket or multi-day ticket with a Universal Epic Universe day would be ineligible to upgrade. Currently, we do not have any information on whether or when these ticket types will be eligible to upgrade."

They also said in another email that APs with Epic access would definitely not be available when we go in January. I wish they would release 2026 tickets so I could plan, though!

Thanks. That at least makes me feel better that I didn't do that part wrong.
Now we are having trouble locating our physical passes.....we moved houses in June and I am sure they are in a box somewhere. UGH.
Can we use our digital cards on the app instead if we can't find them? We will keep looking.
