good day all, I am off to LA in May with my family and just booked the HOJO in Anaheim for a week, which i am looking forward to! But, I was hoping to spend about 4 days prior (may 14th to 18th) nearby, but closer to the coast. I was really hoping to find a half decent deal on a hotel near the coast. Does anyone have any places I should check that out, that aren't super expensive? I also have the entertainment book if that would help.

i appreciate any input you all may have. I am going with my wife and 3 kids.

thanks.

mark.

It's a tough call as most of the really nice beach areas are only home to really nice hotels. On the other hand this year hotels are cheap all over and you may be able to get a good deal.

While I'd like to suggest something in Laguna Beach (30 minutes SW of the park) Huntington or Seal Beach seems like a better bet. You should be able to find some decent deals on any travel site like Orbitz or Hotels.com although I'd say try a few priceline bids for high class (3.5 or 4 star) waterfront places using priceline... who knows, you may just snag something awesome for a great price.

i would like to try priceline, but i believe they can only guarantee a hotel for 2, so for my family of 5, it may be a bit risky. i was really hoping that i could get an entertainment book deal, ideally the direct to hotel deal where its 50% off listed price. but in the area, you would recommend seal beach and huntington? thanks for the advice. i am not too worried about being a bit further away from DL because I will only be going there while I am at the HOJO.

If you can get the deal I'd recommend Laguna or huntington beach on the water. If the deal isnt' right a bit father back in huntington will be cheaper or something in a surrounding areas like seal beach will still put you fairly close to the water.
