Alternate Route???

We are driving down to WDW Sat. May 7 and 8 from West Virginia. Is it better to take pick uo I-95 in South Carolina or is there an alternate route that you take like 301 etc. which may be longer but actually saves time over using 95? Any help will be appreciated.

Im not sure where your location in WV is but another option would be take 64 over to 75. Ive heard that 95 has some pretty nasty hotels, resturants etc.

We took 301 in Feb to avoid the Daytona area during race weekend. It was LOOOONG! The first part of 301 isn't bad, 55 mph 2 lanes on each side, but once you get past Gainseville, it was 50mph, stop light, stop light, stop light, 50 mph, stop light, stop light, stop light, you get the idea, all the way to Clermont. We've driven 5 times from MA, and have only stayed in 2 gross hotel rooms, both in Petersburg, VA. I think if you stick to the major chains, and do a little research, you should be fine.
