We arrived back yesterday, best Florida holiday I've had, Jetlagged badly at the moment and starting a new job in the morning!!
A few notes...
The weather was very hot for the first 10 days. On the Wednesday last week, when Orlando was down for rain, we went to Clearwater and it was dry and boiling!!
The HRH is easily the best hotel I've stayed in, being a big music fan, it was right up my street. The pool is excellent.
CRT was great, my daughter and wife loved it, that's got to be the best gig for the characters. We also tried the storybook breakfast in Norway at Epcot and they just seemed a little lest polished than at the Castle. Mulan in particular was terrible.
I loved the wave machine at Typhoon Lagoon, surfing that wave is amazing.
Saw Spectromagic for the first time and was very impressed.
The fireworks at the end of the day at MK and Epcot was as perfect an end to the day as usual.
Thursday last week saw the worst Disney parade I've ever seen (at MK) , it was raining, not heavily and the parade started 15 mins late, the cast seemed half hearted and the floats kept breaking down, so the members that were dancing had to stand in their position and just carry on dancing until the floats were pulled along by a little buggy type thing. The parade was also shortened and was half the length of normal, with many characters missing. Also a couple of the glass balls were steamed up and you struggled to see inside them.
The screamer at Clearwater was great, getting a pod of dolphins following you and playing and jumping in the slipstream of the boat was amazing.
I agree that whilst the driving is easier and safer than in the UK, the standard
has slipped since we last visited.
Anyone driving in Tampa, the roadworks are particularly bad just now.
The Pointe on I-Drive is now in a bad way, I hope the redevelopment improves it as I enjoyed it previously. Sad that the Big toys have been demolished.
Best meal was at Wolfgang Pucks, well recommended.
Virgin Atlantic were their usual high Standard and will always use them (PE).
