Already thinking of next Christmas, need advice.

We are planning a big trip to FL next Christmas (2011). We have always gone to WDW and this is our first trip to Universal. Our tentative dates to stay would be Dec 18-20, Going to the parks on the 19 and 20th. Ive looked at packages for these 2 nights with 2 day tickets and it was over 900 for the 3 of us (all adults). Wow sticker shock! But I'm thinking with FOTL it may be necessary with the time frame. Any advice?

We just stayed at the Royal Pacific in October and enjoyed the luxury of FOTL access. It can't be beat and at the holidays it will be insanely busy. The only other option is to stay off property and then buy the express add-on to the regular tickets. This way you still get fotl access but can stay at a less expensive hotel. Keep in mind then you would need a car to get to Universal or some other transportation i.e. a hotel bus shuttle and also would have to pay for parking which is currently $15 a day I think. Also FOTL access or the express add-on cannot be used for WWOHP. So keep that in mind.

Enjoy your trip. WWOHP is amazing. I especially like seeing the decorations in Seussland and visiting with the Grinch.

Also, I believe the purchased pass only gives you one FOTL per ride while the room key gets you unlimited access.
