You know, all of you have me thinking that it might actually be a good thing to go to Hawaii sometime...

Especially since we could get back and then spend a few days in LA and the kids could do Disneyland.....

Maybe next Spring Break. :)

:thumbsup2 Sounds like a wonderful trip to me! :rotfl: Both Disneyland and Hawaii in one trip!!!:cloud9:

Green with envy! I bet you are doing laundry and have your suitcases out. I am just plain jealous :guilty:

Have a great trip :wizard:

Of course you know I'll be jealous of you in November when you're enjoying the Poly and I am in severe Disney withdrawal! Thanks for all your hard work in making this thread so fabulous and informative!:goodvibes

We are packed and ready to go and SO excited! Keeping our fingers crossed for good weather!

This trip to the Poly will be our first without a car. I am a little nervous about the bus service to DS, AK and DD. I am thinking about renting a car but that will add to the "already most we ever spent on a trip" trip. How much are taxis to DS, AK and DD? I read about the bad bus service to DD, how bad is it to the other two and the WPs?

TIA
the trip to HS and animal kingdom is not really that bad! DTD is another story! The only time we really worry about how long it takes is when we are doing EMH, and we have never missed one! We are also the type that walk around after park closing so that we are not crowded on the bus! Besides it's nice to see the parks when they are closed! So what i am trying to say is when we go, we are really not in a hurry for anything! Another opinion about the buses to DHS and AK may be in order! :confused3

What a lovely idea!!!

The buses last year from MK to BC at closing time were such a drag! Long waits :guilty:then standing room only! UGH!

That is why I am so happy to be staying at the Poly this year! :wizard:

I am also "hoping" the buses to and from AK/DS run smoothly for us. We actually don't mind riding the buses despite the MK closing crowds. We plan on being at the bus stops one hour before park opening on our DS/AK days. I "hope" that gives us plenty of time! One night we actually do have dinner ressies at the GF one hour after DS park closing. I hope we make it on time :scared1:! I hope we are not pushing it. :scared1:

We will have our car though and will be driving to DTD.:drive:

That sounds like a great plan car to DTD! I am just frustrated that DTD is where we spend lots of money, you would think that they would be happy to get us there without the loooong wait to get there and back! I believe the parks pay more for buses than DTD so we get shotty service!

Your reservation at GF 1 hr after DHS closes should not be a problem. All you have to do is get off bus and jump on the monorail! :cool1:

Staying in the park after it closes is kind of strange! We have never been thrown out! :rotfl: and the buses run 2 hours after closing! It is also quiet and a lot calmer at the bus stop!

I have said this for years carlnix. For a company so skilled at marketing, this is one area that Disney has missed the boat (or bus in this case ;) ).

We used to venture out to DTD and hated every minute of the bus ride. There is no excuse for a 10 mile (or less) trip taking 45 minutes to an hour one way. Typically we would take the bus to DTD and a cab back. That made the trip a bit more palatable.

Since Disney (in another brilliant marketing display) closed PI, we simply do not go to DTD any longer. There isn't anything out there that I would purchase that I can't locate in a park or resort merchandise venue. Honestly, can't say we miss DTD a bit. :cool1:

Question about neverland, We're going in Sept. anyone know how far in advance I need to book?? Do I need to know how long I want my child stay ahead of time? Anyone have experience with Neverland??

OK Poly Pros, I have a question! If you had to choose either Ohana or the Luau for dinner, what would you do? We'll be ther in October, and I am trying to plan our dining now.

Thank You!!

I'm at work today... putting in a little OT to save up for our next WDW trip! Just thought I'd take a break and say good morning!

I'm listening to the poly resort loop music right now... and it's making me smile!!

Hello! We love leaving the car behind when we're at WDW, and this works for us because our sons prefer Epcot and MK anyway. We stay at one of the monorail resorts and love using the monorail - especially helpful as one of our sons uses a wheelchair.

We had a trip a few weeks back (missing the Poly now!!!) and as I was on my own with the boys, I bailed on the bus and took a cab to DHS. It was $14and seemed to take very little time. I wasn't sure how to find a taxi for getting back, so we took the bus and it was quite efficient. Mind you, the parks weren't crowded at all. The bus service is one reason we skipped AK and DTD though. In the past, we've had to wait for a few buses to pass us by as they already had their quota of wheelchairs.

I would suggest Ohana over the Luau. Personally, we didn't care for the Luau and thought it was very cheesy. Not worth the time or money to us.

This has probably been asked somewhere in the 227 pages of this thread, if so sorry for repeating it :flower3:

Does the Poly still set the machines for free play in the arcade during the day? We didn't get to stay there last year, but are returning this year  I know that on our last few visits to the Poly this is how we kept ourselves occupied while waiting for the ME bus back to the airport.

Sounds silly, but what a great perk for those of us with gamer kids who need a fix :rotfl: (And I love to play pinball ;))

OK Shouldn't my ticker be a little closer to the end if I have two months left...Stitch isn't moving :confused3

I just booked Neverland on Friday for MAy 16th. I was not the first booking for that night. You can book up to 180days in advance. They just need to know what time you are dropping off the kids because they usually serve dinner around 6:30. You pay for what you use. If you have an idea of when you will pick up, that's helpful, but not necessary. Over the years we have used NLC lots and the kids all liked it. If you don't have a cellphone, or are international, they will give you a pager.
Hope that helps.

How about watching the tiki torch lighting ceremony (free), then having dinner at 'Ohana? That way you get a tiny little taste of the fire-dancing and a great meal, too!

Did you just create the ticker? He'll be on the left then. If it's an older ticker, maybe Stitch is messing with you...:confused3 Mine was WAY to the right when we were 2 months out, but that's because I put the ticker up 8 or 9 months before the trip.

Probably but it makes the time seem soooo long;). Wish he'd hurry his little fluffy body :thumbsup2 along

Did you just setp up your ticker? I think the measurement is not an absolute value, but rather relative to when you set it up. So, for example, someone going during your same time frame that set it up over 2 months ago, would be half-way through it even though you both have the same amount of time left.

Yup we just added another day on yesterday so I redid my ticker...and I was blaming poor little stitch :stitch: shame on me ;)
