I called the Neverland Club last night to book the evening of May 16 for our 2 little ones while DH and I have dinner alone. Anyway, they had 30kids and had been full some eveings. Apparently, when it rains, they are packed.:scared1: The coordinator there was very helpful, as I had spent 20minutes being passed around, and after all that, it turns out that the CM who put me through to NC should not have. Anyway, the CM at NC called me back as their computers were very slow last night, which I thought was great.:yay:

Hopefully we'll be able to make it! I've been wanting to stay there since they first announced the resort. I'm not looking forward to that plane ride--let me tell you! :rotfl: I thought flying to Europe was long! We may be stopping in LA to visit Disneyland before flying to Hawai'i.

Yes, the dreaded plane ride. That trip is on my wish list for my next birthday that ends in a zero.....:rolleyes1 Which will be in April 2013. DH has a plane phobia as do I but I would endure for a trip to Hawaii! :goodvibes

We too would plan a trip to LA area for a few days to break up the flight!

Ahhhh, Dreaming Disney :cloud9: There is nothing like it :thumbsup2

It's a beautiful day today in South Louisiana!(finally) Hoping to get outside today! Thanks everyone for all of the pictures!

That would be great! We're not hard to miss! DSD18 is part native-Canadian, DD7 is short and sporty with blue eyes & blonde hair and DD5 is Chinese and usually wearing a princess dress (like, everyday, often with a tiara and an assortment of costume jewellry :rotfl:). Oh and my sister & BIL will be with us and they're both covered in tattoos. We're not too inconspicuous! :lmao:

We stick out, too! I'm half Samoan, half native (Auntie Kaui always tells me I need to come work at the Poly!!) with a few tattoos ;), the kids are little brown hoodlums (kidding!!), and we will be there with my mom, grandparents, cousin, friend and her will-be-two year old daughter. Sounds like our families will be the crowd at the pool. :rotfl:

Oh, I am so ready for this trip!! Why can't it be December NOOOOOOOW!!!???

Iam totally with y'all with Tuvalu. As I have stated before, we loved the location and we didn't miss having a balcony ( we were on the 2nd floor). I know anytime we aren't staying club level, Tuvalu will be our request.

The sun has finally decided to show itself. Should be a nice day to be outside.

We have about the same flight time to Hawaii as we do to WDW, so it's not fun either way... But those are the 2 places we like to spend our time visiting! We chose Poly this trip since we miss Hawaii (but gotta use up those last few days on our APs! :rotfl:).

Good Morning :sunny:

It is a rainy, gloomy morning here in the midwest. I hope the sun is shining where you are :thumbsup2

Thanks for the morning pictures! I think that hammock has my name on it Monday night! Only 2 more days!:banana:

Green with envy! I bet you are doing laundry and have your suitcases out. I am just plain jealous :guilty:

Have a great trip :wizard:

BreezysMom,

Thanks once again for the gorgeous Poly pics! They sure bring Sunshine to a gloomy chilly Saturday morning in the mid-west! I especially love the pic of the monorail coming out of the GCH. I grew up in California and I was a Disneyland baby (I lived a few miles from DL and my grandpa worked there) and the monorail really brings back so many fond Disney memories. I can't wait to stay at the Poly for the first time!!!

One question: How long of a monorail ride is it to Epcot? We will enjoy the ride no matter how long it is, but I am just curious as the UG says it could take 40 minutes???:scared1:

Love all the pictures and updates.... thanks for the link to the clothing too... just sitting here pretending to be at the poly instead of at my computer .....

I wouldn't say that long. Maybe from the time you walk out of your longhouse, walk to the TTC, wait for the monorail AND ride takes about 40 minutes (though I don't even think that long). I'd say the actual ride is about 15 minutes?

OK It's official we added another night on to our reservation at the Poly :grouphug:!! We will be staying 6 nights now...Time to change the countdown!! C'mon May...lol!!

Which beach was that photo taken from? Hawaii? Great view of the castle!

Yep, taken right in front of the Hawaii building. :goodvibes I honestly didn't think the castle looked that big until I got home from the trip and uploaded the photos. I was like  It was absolutely a shot I wish I could have had taken of me at that age and visited the Poly! :cloud9:

Yeah, some nights, especially during the Christmas holidays it was packed! They had to turn people away who tried to drop in. No worries though--the place is huge and large enough to have so many kids there. :thumbsup2 Glad I saw your post--DD10 reminded me to book her at least, ahem, 2 stays at the Neverland Club. Ms. Michelene at the NC runs a tight ship and she still remembers my daughter every time she visits. :thumbsup2

I know for us it would be a 1 1/2 flight to Chicago then something like another 10 - 12 to Hawai'i. :scared1: Since we used to live in the LA area it'll be nice to stay there for a few days, then fly on. Plus, many more flights to Hawai'i that I'd be willing to put up with LAX for. :rotfl:

Nothing like it at all! :cloud9:

One thing I regret is that when we lived in LA, we could have easily flown to Hawai'i. Never got around to it. Now that I'm living in the cold Northeast I am determined to smell a real Plumeria (I *think* I saw one on the Poly grounds) and see pineapples in their natural habitat. Ya know, in the ground instead of in a can or...uh...in my hand with Lapu Lapu inside of it. ;)

Thanks for the morning pictures! I think that hammock has my name on it Monday night! Only 2 more days!:banana:

Can I stow away in your suitcase? :goodvibes I'm so excited for you!

well... count me in on this thread. :thumbsup2 we just changed our bounceback for dec from AKL to Poly GV. :cool1: when we originally booked, we wanted AKL CL but that isn't available, so we just booked AKL SV just to have *something* to get the bounceback offer. we decided to take a bit and think about other options and we just can't resist the lure of the monorail location, having just returned from GF RPC.

i am looking forward to keeping up with this thread! i may not post much because i'll have very little to contribute, but i'll be watching closely as i did with the GF thread over the past year! we are sooooo excited about our stay! my dream as a child was always to stay at the Poly (i never visited WDW until i was 32!)... so i suppose that dream is finally coming true! :cloud9: better late than never! :rolleyes1

This trip to the Poly will be our first without a car. I am a little nervous about the bus service to DS, AK and DD. I am thinking about renting a car but that will add to the "already most we ever spent on a trip" trip. How much are taxis to DS, AK and DD? I read about the bad bus service to DD, how bad is it to the other two and the WPs?

TIA

How very cool to be planning a stay at Aulani!:cool1::cool1::cool1:

We've taken a nonstop from Chicago to Maui or Honolulu a number of times and I think it's 9 hours these days.....used to be 8.

Anyway, we don't find the trip over to Hawaii so bad whether nonstop or a short layover in SF or LAX. You fly essentially all day, arrive in the afternoon, have dinner and crash. Wake up about 3 am if you're me but that's another story.:rotfl:

Coming back though is tough. That's when I like to stop in LA or SF. It really helps with the time change flying East. Whether we just stop for a night and fly on in the am or go to DL for a visit, it is so much easier for me at least.

You know, all of you have me thinking that it might actually be a good thing to go to Hawaii sometime...

Especially since we could get back and then spend a few days in LA and the kids could do Disneyland.....

Maybe next Spring Break. :)
