Don't forget at least when going to Hollywood Studios and the Animal Kingdom, you can walk to the Transportation & Ticket Center and get on the buses which go there and they would be direct since they don't stop anywhere else.

I'm having trouble figuring out whether to request third or first floor. Blah!! I love the patio and all that room for the kids to get some energy out while still being in our "yard." Of course, if you're paying for TPV, you might as well see as much of the castle as possible, not just the top. Good thing I plan so far in advance so I can nitpick these things to death before deciding just to leave it up to the resort gods.

DH insisted on 3rd floor because of the view. Besides, our kids wouldn't have ventured outside too much. They were afraid of snakes! :rotfl2: I had warned them about not messing about in the shrubbery because you hear the occasional snake bite story, and then one morning we saw the little "pest control" vehicle parked by the marina (complete with snake-catching poles etc). When we did see a baby snake on the walk way by Tuvalu it sent them into a complete tizzy. They thought there must be a nest near by. I guess I created a bit of paranoia in them! :lmao:

Aww...poor kids! We had a patio last time we were at the Poly and were visited by the kissing duck. The kids would kiss the window (I know, gross...but this was so cute!!), and the duck would peck back. This went on for, like, ten minutes!! By the time I pulled out the camera, it only happened a couple times.

That's hilarious - too cute! And congrats on your 1000th post!

BTW, it looks like our trips will be overlapping by a few days. Maybe we will see you by the pool ... unless my kids spot some snakes! :rotfl2:

 Looks like they're about the same age. Mine will turn 8 and 5 this summer. They would definitely swim the entire time if we let them. Hopefully the weather's nice enough to swim. We're from Oklahoma, though, so it would have to be pretty darn cold to keep us out of the water. We were some of the few swimming at SAB when we were there in December '08. :rotfl:

Ours will be 8 and 5 too by our next trip and are also little fish. We are from Canada, so I'm sure we would also be in the pool when the locals are putting sweaters on. :rotfl:

I hope we run into each other!! :goodvibes

That would be great! We're not hard to miss! DSD18 is part native-Canadian, DD7 is short and sporty with blue eyes & blonde hair and DD5 is Chinese and usually wearing a princess dress (like, everyday, often with a tiara and an assortment of costume jewellry :rotfl:). Oh and my sister & BIL will be with us and they're both covered in tattoos. We're not too inconspicuous! :lmao:

Good Morning :sunny:

It is a rainy, gloomy morning here in the midwest. I hope the sun is shining where you are :thumbsup2

Gorgeous photos as always, BreezysMom. :thumbsup2 It is raining cats and dogs here in the Philly area. Good news is it's helping my poor allergies due to the trees budding.

Does anyone have any idea around what time the movies begin during the summer months? We've never stayed at the Poly and hope to experience the resort as much as the parks.

I have stayed at the values, a moderate and deluxe and the bus service to DTD has been awful at every level. Even when we stayed at POR, we had to wait 45 minutes for a boat. We've already decided to fork over the money for a taxi this time!

Funny story...every time I get fed up with waiting and am about to go hail a taxi, the danged DTD bus decides to pull up at the Poly. :rotfl: We're renting a car for our GF trip we're renting a car because my Type-A personality goes ballistic when I have to wait for a bus!

We always just drive to DHS when we're at the Polynesian as long as we're all together.

We occasionally split up now that everyone is older so I have taken the bus back. I do take whichever comes first...Polynesian or TTC. When I've ridden in the afternoon, the Polynesian has always shared with at least the CR and stopped there first. The shuttles for parking come so often that I think you would almost always get back to the Polynesian faster by driving.

I'm with BCV23 on this. If I time it right (or take too long to get my Kona coffee from Kona Island), I can make the bus when it pulls up at the Poly or just walk over to the TTC without a car. From my observation at DHS, you can get back to the Poly quicker by driving, *especially* if you're fortunate to park so close to DHS that you don't need the shuttle. :goodvibes

MsStinkerbell, we are pretty close to you, in North Wildwood, NJ. The wind and rain is horrendous here. I actually grew up in Bucks County, Pa. It is a small world, isn't it?

MsStinkerBelle -- I just noticed your ticker!!! I'm jealous! :rotfl: A real Disney Hawaiian vacation!!! That's combining my family's 2 favorite destinations in one!:cloud9:

Maiapapaya, you crack me up! :rotfl: I'm so glad to have a Tuvalu buddy, and I know Ms Stinkerbelle also loved her room there too!

Agreed! She's a riot! :lmao: I don't know why a lot of people don't request Tuvalu (and call me selfish but uh, I don't want to advertise it a lot either). I hadn't even really heard of that longhouse until a CM offered it as an alternative when my first choice, Tahiti, wasn't available. She really talked up how 'secluded' it was and that's its biggest selling point. The whole longhouse makes you feel like you're somewhere 'else'. Only, uh, *nosey* neighbors and ducks trying to shake you down for treats roam around. :rotfl:

Someone asked a question about the first floor TPV at Tuvalu...I walked around in front of the building and it was really pretty on the ground floor and the patios are really nice.

We loved our patio when we stayed 1st floor Tuvalu. :cloud9: It was like having our own yard at Disney. And when the EWP came by, DD (then 7) thought it was just for her! As for me, it reminds me of my favorite photo of a lone 'hut' over the water in Tahiti. One day I'll make it there...

This is so cute! Those ducks at the Poly are something else, aren't they? When I took the Terror Squad to the Poly, they had to kick the ducks out of the pool every night! And my DN9 kept asking, "Aunti? Why are those ducks following us?!?"

Wow! Small world indeed! :thumbsup2 What part of Bucks County? I'm in southern Montgomery County. The wind is picking up like crazy. So many trees are already snapped due to the heavy snow we had this winter.

Here's a photo I've been meaning to post. DD10 wanted to visit the Poly beach one more time before we left to go home Dec 2008. :cloud9:

Hopefully we'll be able to make it! I've been wanting to stay there since they first announced the resort. I'm not looking forward to that plane ride--let me tell you! :rotfl: I thought flying to Europe was long! We may be stopping in LA to visit Disneyland before flying to Hawai'i.

We were in Levittown, Pa.

My aunt is currently in WDW staying at the GF, and she said the last 2 days it poured rain. Hope the weather is better there today. I wonder if it is the same storm system we're experiencing.

We are going on our 6th Disney trip, but our first time at Poly. Love this thread.
