Unless you need an accessible room, they will still not guarantee any building. I suppose they figure that an extra few minutes of walking compared to the hours in the parks are not significant. I would highly suggest an ECV if there is any question.

In our experience needing accessible rooms, even then you are not guaranteed a particular building with the exception of a club level reservation. However, there are quite a few accessible rooms in Rapa Nui.

Good point about the walking within the resort compared to the rest of WDW.

I read somewhere on tikiman pages there was some changes!
Click on link if you dant already have tikimanpages web site

Aloha! I realize this may already have been answered, but I have not caught up yet since our return from our trip to the Poly (Hawaii bldg) last week. It was wonderful! I can confirm that from what I can remember (and I remember my food pretty well!) the Tikiman pages description of the lounge offerings (I just checked the evening offerings) was accurate...it was yummy!

Thanks for that info. I'm sure the offerings change often.

Welcome back, Twinmum!!! I am SO glad you had a great time at the Poly. Please let us have some details, when you have the time!!!:banana::banana: I hope that your DSs and their BF enjoyed the theming at the Poly, too!:goodvibes

Oh goodness I want to go to WDW again and stay at the Polynesian! My dream is to be able to afford to go back to the Polynesian with my current boyfriend (who also loves Disney... unlike the other 3 year dud). It just seems so fun and romantic! It's definitely on my to do list!

Here's some pixiedust: that you get to go to the Poly soon! :)

Lissiesmum, thanks for posting your review! Glad you had a great trip and you've got us all excited for our visits to the Poly!

That and this was on page 2 and didn't want to do a shameless bump.

If you book a TPV room in the Hawaii building, are the views better on the first, second or third floor?

I am not so much concerned about whether I get a patio balconey or walk out (or whatever you call those things on the 2nd floor) I was just wondering if there was a difference in views - so that I can request a floor.

Well the view is best on third floor! But the food sodas and snacks are served on the 2nd floor. The main lounge is on the 2nd floor! So.. We loved the 2nd floor (we could walk down to the end of hall for coffee). We loved the third floor because we could sit on the balcony! We ordered a beautiful room service dinner sat on the balcony and watched wishes while eating! Absolutley fabulous! Again a matter of opinion! TPVCL is just that!! You will have a great view no matter what floor you are on!

Capt. Barbosa

Fab costumes! :dance3:

jkstewart1800 I think this is the point of the new TPV CL designation. Regardless of the floor, your room will have an amazing TPV.
We were on the 3d floor w/ a balcony and just a few doors down from the lounge. Our views were unbelievable. As much as I like to have a patio/1st floor in GV, I would request 3d floor for Hawaii LV or TPV :thumbsup2

Hi everyone~
We are checking in on May 24 and I requested Tokelau as we have a garden view room. I had read Tokelau has lovely garden view rooms so let's hope...;) We have no small children so I don't mind not being near the volcano pool. Think it was a good choice?

Lissiesmum So glad you had a nice trip and thanks for sharing your report!

Capt. Barbosa WHOA!! Look out, great costumes on you and the boys :woohoo:

Welcome back Lissiesmum! I feel as though I could have written your trip report. We loved Tuvalu too! I just hope now that others are discovering how great it is, it doesn't become too popular! Maybe we should start spreading some nasty rumours about Tuvalu! :lmao:

I was thinking the same thing myself! I always wondered why you never hear much about the Tuvalu TPV...I think people love it so much that they don't want to share the info with anyone else so that it doesn't become requested too much!

Welcome back :flower3:

When you are unpacked and settled and you may experience PPDS, Post Poly Depression Syndrome but just know we are all here for you :grouphug:

 I am already suffering from PPDS! In fact, we were doing the "Poly pout" (Thanks for this phrase Tess!) the day before we left. We actually shared a few tears because we didn't want to go home. Today, I hooked up the camcorder to our TV and we watched the EWP, Wishes, and the "fireguy". I taped quite a bit of footage from our balcony and it brought me right back to being there. If only it was for real! Every time I'm having a PPDS moment, I start humming the music from the EWP...always makes me smile! :goodvibes

welcome back Lissiesmum and thank you for the trip report! :thumbsup2 I can't wait until I go there for the first time!!

You will love it and be hooked for life! I know for sure we will be staying elsewhere next time, but we will plan on eating at Kona, 'Ohana, watching the "fireguy" (torch lighting ceremony), and catching the EWP and Wishes from the beach at least once. If I could afford it, I would stay at the Poly every time, but my DD also wants to try a new place so we'll see what our next trip brings. My cogs are already turning!

Thanks to everyone for the welcome back wishes and I'm glad you enjoyed the TR. I felt like a thread hog for awhile! :rotfl2:

Talk about emptiness though. We've only been back since Sunday and I'm already feeling that Disney void. Our next trip won't be for 14 months, and I already feel the urge to start planning again! The week goes by in a blink of an eye, then you get home and it feels like you were there ages ago. :sad1: Yes, I am definitely suffering from PPDS! :rolleyes1

Hey Poly Lovers!

Can you believe we are almost already at 205 pages? At the rate we chat we have a week or so until we get shut down at the 250 page mark. :rolleyes1

If you have any pics or info you want to share please PM me and I will send you my personal e-mail address. I will probably start working on the new Spring Poly FAQ this weekend and I welcome all the help I can get :worship:

I am hoping to update the reviews page and make a listing of room view posts.

Thanks to everyone who makes this the best resort FAQ thread on the DIS :grouphug:

I ditto the great costumes for Capt Barbosa! You guys look adorable!

Emme, I think Tokelau is a good choice, and I would also consider Fiji. You will have great views on either side...one is a marina, and the other is a beach/GF. I actually walked all around the grounds this time so I could get a good idea of where the GV rooms were and how they compared and I didn't really find any terrible views or locations. I think with the exception of the Rapa Nui parking lot side, and the Tuvalu GV side facing Fiji, there are great views to be found everywhere on property with different perks. Now that I have stayed on the other side of the marina, next time if I stayed garden view I would request either Fiji or Aotearoa. It's so quiet over there, and the views are a little extra special for a GV. You have water views with Fiji on both sides, and with Aotearoa, on one side you have the monorail really close by, and the other side has a really large grassy area then a quiet beach that faces the MK with the GF over to the side. This area is really lovely, and there was always a gaggle of wild turkeys running (literally) around. Very peaceful and a nice walk over to the GF at sunset. I much preferred this side of the resort to the action over by the pool. But I guess it depends on what you're looking for! I know some people love to be where the action's at, therefore requesting something by the pool. Tokelau has a great central location, and I can see why many people request this longhouse! I really think you can't go wrong at the Poly. You will be happy no matter where you end up!

Breezysmom -- thanks for working so hard to make the Poly thread such a wonderful "place" to visit and chat! :goodvibes
