I am at the Poly right now!! It is just as magical as everyone said it would be. We are in tokeleu, garden view, which I requested. Saw the fireworks our first night here which was so unbelievable! The resort is super clean,cm's are so helpful. My kids love it here so much, they don't want to go to a park today:) I will report more later....BTW yes it has been cold! We have our warm jackets, so we have been ok.

 Thanks for the live update! Glad to hear you are having a wonderful time at the Poly!!!

anyone? Anyone? :confused3

I answered yesterday, and so did others. I think that this thread is so active that it's probably several pages back now. :rotfl: I basically agree with the PPs -- it's ok to bring them in, show them around, even sit in the lounge if it's empty. But if it's crowded, I wouldn't. Same goes for the food and drink -- it's there for the people who paid to stay in the Hawaii building so it wouldn't be right for them to snack there. ;)

Welcome!!! It's a long thread to read, but there is lots of great information here. If you have questions, just ask. The people on this thread were SO helpful to me when I was planning our first trip to the Poly!!!
Hi everyone! Just wanted to pipe in to say hi.

I'm very excited as I just booked our first ever stay at the Poly. yesterday! We've always done value or deluxe so this is a great treat. We are only doing it because we got such a great deal through MV.

I've been trying to read this whole thread, but I'm not sure if I'll ever make it. I'm only on page 25! LOL!

Anyway, I've already learned so much from all of you and look forward to learning more! I'm sure I'll be piping in with questions as we get closer to our trip. I would have a ticker, but I don't know how to do it...:sad2:

Hope you love Poly. We just came back from a stay there. We had requested Tokelau, room near beach end. Booked a GV. It was a great location, very central, and right next to quiet pool. Short walk on path to TTC to get monorail to Epcot.
Watching Wishes from the beach was magic! The only thing we missed was a hot tub.

Welcome aboard! :hippie: A first stay at the Poly is so special. You'll get lots of friendly info from the folks on this board. And even those of us who have been to the Poly several times still have questions. :lmao:

As for the ticker, if you clicked one from other posters and it still didn't work, PM me. I'd be happy to help! :thumbsup2

Welcome! Click on someone else's ticker and it will lead you to the website with the tickers where you can make your own for free!

I am so excited. This past weekend I booked club level at the Poly for my mom, dad and myself. I have quit being a lurker and started posting and I started a Pre-trip report.

Thanks so much for the tip on how to make a ticker! That makes my day.:hippie:

Welcome PamelaKay! By the looks of your (new:thumbsup2) ticker we will be at the Poly at the same time as you and your folks. Maybe we'll see you by the pool! Although, since it will be December ... maybe we'll see you by the bar or CC's. :)

This made me laugh. I live in Charlotte, NC and grew up in Georgia. I see you are up north...brrrrrr. I don't do cold at all so it is doubtful you will see me by the pool. It is likely however to see me at the bar. As a 41 year old traveling with my parents I will likely need a drink :cool1:

I should probably add a question for all of you Poly veterans. What is the best drink you have had at the bar at the Poly?

Thanks! I went back and found the answers.... This thread moves fast... I thought I was keeping up, but I guess not!

No problem! I figured that was what happened. If I'm gone for even 1/2 a day I noticed this thread moves a page or two! Guess dreaming about upcoming stays at the Poly just really make lots of us keep posting here.:cloud9:

Ok, I made my ticker! Where do I copy it to and which version do I use??:tinker:

Choose User CP up above (in the blue) and paste the #@$% in your "signature." I can't remember exactly which version -- try the 1st one and then "preview." If it works, then save signature. If not, use the 2nd version. That's what I do. ;)

Any questions, ask away, and I will try to help! :goodvibes

Sara

We are wishing on a star for a view like this in July! :cloud9: Thank you so much for posting this gorgeous pic, which really made my week! Really, you didn't request it, mom2mek? That must be the most frequently requested GV room...at least that's what I'd figure from what I read here.

And thanks to BreezysMom for all those beautiful photos of the Poly grounds. Just want to say "thanks" and "congrats for booking" and "welcome back" or "have a good trip" to ALL my fellow Poly lovers! I too have had very bad experiences on the Dis, so it's really nice to have an always friendly forum to come home to. :grouphug:

Safe travels and pixie dust for those going in the next few days! :wizard:

A good many swear by the Lapu Lapu served in the hollowed out pineapple. I personally enjoy the Lava Flow which is strawberry daiquiri mixed with pina colada. The version posted on the menu is a Pinacolava which has raspberry flavor as opposed to the strawberry. Both are actually nice! :rolleyes1

The lava flow sounds yummy, but what is a Lapu Lapu and on the same note can I say how exciting it is that the resort has Dole Whip. WOOHOO.
