We leave in less than 2 hours. Wooohoooo!!! Can't wait to see and experience everything I've been reading in this thread. If it ain't packed now, I guess we don't need it. :thumbsup2 I wish I had kept one of those million lime green mickey's my DD brought home frome HD over the years with all the people here going at the same time.

I'll hopefully be able to post from the trip :)

SO Jealous!! Have fun!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

The Poly kind of gets under your skin, doesn't it? :)

Will any of our dates overlap this time? We have the 6th through the 12th this trip. :goodvibes

We were planning to leave on the 6th, but we have reservations through the 7th and DH wants to stay the extra night!!!! We're staying CL, too!;)

Good! This time I'll find you guys so I can say "hi!". :)

Lapu Lapu

1 ounce Myer's Rum
1/2 ounce Bacardi 151
Scorpion Mix (consists of half-and-half sour mix and orange juice)
Enough ice to chill it, crushed so it fits in the pineapple

The Other Recipe

1 Tbsp Simple "2:1" syrup (thats the sugar water ratio)
1 Tbsp Passion fruit syrup
1 Tbsp Orgeat
2 oz Orange juice
2 oz Pineapple juice
2 oz Dark rum
2 oz White Rum
Fill with Cracked ice and shake

Thank you for this! Maybe we'll crank the heat up, put on some summer clothes and some Polynesian music while we sip homemade a Lapu Lapu and pretend that it's not winter.
Can you tell that I am completely done with snow and cold?

Maybe everyone heading down soon can snag a little sunshine to bring back for the rest of us! :goodvibes

I have read that you can order Kona sticky wings at the Sushi bar at night. Is this still true and can you also order other Kona items/or desserts? Thanks.

Are either one of these recipes the Poly's recipe for the Lapu Lapu? I just wasn't sure what the 'other recipe' meant :)

Have there been any reports yet of what the difference is in the Hawaii building views that are now listed ( Theme Park View vs. Lagoon View)?

Does anyone have a picture of the daybed made up to sleep in?

Thanks. :)

The Top one is the one I see most I found the bottom listed as a Lapu Lapu also but I think it was someone elses invention.
Either one sounds pretty yummy to me right now! Can't WAIT to try one of these! (Oh and the offerings at The Ditch!!)

Hi everyone!!:flower3:

We will be staying at the poly for five nights, for our upcoming honeymoon :lovestruc, 12/12-12/17/10, ans cannot WAIT!!
On our past three trips we have always made it a point to go there for drinks on certain evenings, and just walk around . LOVE the atmosphere.

However, I have a few concerns:

Any specific longhouse we should request???

Also, since we are using DVC points, what are the odds of some pixie dust being sent to us without asking? :confused3 Not that any of you are psychic, but, maybe you could enlighten me,

I used the tikiman website http://www.tikimanpages.com/tiki/quick-longhouses to scroll through pics of the views from all the longhouses and I used it to help make our request. Hopefully the awesome people on this board will have some good tips for you as well!!! If you aren't staying club level, I think it really depends on what you are looking for (views, proximity to the pool, etc.)! It is fun looking at all the possibilities but hard to decide what to request. Ultimately it is up to faith (and of course a little pixie dust :wizard:) as to where we will end up!

This May will be our first stay at the Poly (although we too visited the resort on both of our other trips to WDW!) Good luck with your planning!

What are everyone's favorite items from the Captain Cookes and Kona menus? We will be grabbing a couple quick meals (breakfast and lunch) at Captain Cookes and have one dinner and one breakfast ADR at Kona. So many of the items sound good! What are your favorites for each meal??????????

At Captain Cook's I enjoyed the Adult Grilled Cheese Sandwich. Now my family and I haven't been to the Kona Cafe, however we have been to the Kona Island Sushi Bar a few times.

I believe Tikiman has the room numbers listed on his site.

Thanks :) I just looked and there is only one 3rd floor room listed as Lagoon View -it's the last room on the right. Is this the infamous tree view room????
