We fly out from chilly icy Indiana tomorrow morning for our 3 night stay at Poly :yay::yay::yay::yay::yay:

Any last minute Poly details I should make note of??

Yep. Relax and enjoy staring at the vegetation for a while! :goodvibes

I had to upgrade from GV to LV:headache: because we decided to add a day...there were no GV rooms available (just knew that would happen!). Can anyone give me a building to choose that would still be close to GCH...have my asthmatic mother and dd8 with me and DM does not want to have to walk far to GCH.:rolleyes1

Also, I was looking at the pictures on Allears and didn't see a hairdryer attached to the wall...is there a hair dryer in the room (like on a shelf next to the iron :confused3)?

Thank you all SO much for your kind input on all my questions!

I would have to say Aotearoa would be a good choice. It is a short walk to the GCH.

Yes, the rooms have hairdryers. They are not attached to the wall though. If per chance there is not one in your room, or the one you have does not work, just call housekeeping and they will bring you a replacement :thumbsup2

Have fun :wizard:

So...Which longhouse should we request for honeymooners??

Keep in mind, we are staying here on DVC points for a garden view. Thanks! :flower3:

If it was me, I would request third floor Figi facing the Grand Floridian. The view is fabulous and there is a private beach that is usually empty the majority of the day. It is close to the pool and GCH.

This has worried me. We booked LVCL (before we were aware of TP view), and we requested the 3rd floor because we like the idea of a balcony. I'm worried we'll get this room and have a tree blocking it....or, we'll be put on the second floor (minus the balcony)...or, maybe we'll get upgraded?

I am worried about this too! Does anyone know what that room view is like. We also booked LVCL before they made TP view. I really want 3rd floor but will take 1st if need be. I absolutely do not want 2nd floor.

That's what I would pick as well for a honeymoon. I think it's more peaceful over there, too, since you're not right next to the pool or the main beach.;)

Like I said before, I didn't think that it was very different from the room we were in right next door. If there is a tree (must be) blocking the view, it's not right there blocking the whole balcony. I would have noticed that. I would still bet it would be a pretty good view from there, but until someone here has stayed there I guess we can't know for certain.:confused3

:cool1: I just upgraded us to Poly CL for our upcoming trip! OMG I am so excited! I am not going to tell my kids until we get there, they will be so excited! Any requests or advice on CL Hawaii longhouse I should know?

:cheer2:

Can anyone tell me if any or all of the rooms in the Hawaii bldg are adjoining? If so, does anyone know of the room numbers that are adjoining? By that, I mean the type that has a door between the 2 rooms - don't know if I'm using the proper terminology...
TIA,
Gretchen

 Yay! We're staying there, too!!! The Hawaii building is great -- it's right by both pools, the beach and close to both the GCH and the boat dock.

Advice -- you can call IPO and make a room request if you have one... They will make your dining reservations, too. Anything more specific you want to know?

I don't know if any, but not all. Our room in Hawaii didn't connect to either of the rooms next door. If you have booked CL at the Poly, I would suggest emailing or calling the IPO office and asking them -- they should know!;)

Not sure, I am just so excited & had to tell someone!!!:yay: I may not even tell my DH about the CL. CL makes the trip so much more relaxing for all of us, especially DH. And at Easter to be able to go to the lounge to escape the crowds will be just wonderful.

Yup. We were there last Easter, too, and the lines for CC's and the snack places in the parks were so long. It was so nice to find a nice, cool, relaxing place to hang out and have a drink and a snack! I think surprising the family is great, but so hard to keep the secret!;)

Thanks everyone! So what are the chances booked on a GV, that we could *maybe* score a somewhat MK view?? :lmao:

That's what I figured. We were there at Christmas time & we stayed offsite so we had to stay in the parks all day, the crowds were alittle too much for us. We haven't been to the Poly since 2002. That trip was a disaster, we all got the Norwalk virus & it rained(poured) all 6 days we were there. They also had record lows that week so cold & wet really didn't work well. I am so looking forward to a do-over so we can really enjoy the resort.

We are planning our 1st trip and are thinking about the Poly. DH really likes the idea that the monorail is there ;) We have 3 kids that are 7, 5 &3 ... any suggestions on a room preference location for a GV? I am really new to this and are thinking about going in April (after Easter).

It's going to be a busy week at the Poly and WDW. :rotfl: I think that there are a bunch of us here who will be at the Poly then.;)
