ALOHA! The Polynesian Resort Information Thread: Summer 2011 Edition!

We checked in yesterday and got upgraded to magic kingdom view!!! On the monorail right now going to the magic kingdom!!! Absolutely love the Polynesian!!! Swam and went to EPCOT yesterday. Ate at Tutto for dinner and it was super yummy!!!

WOOOHOOO upgraded ! Thats great ! Does that mean it is not crowded at the resort and in the parks ?

Do any of y'all who have been there real recently have pics of what is going on over on the beach towards the Wedding Pavillion and the GF? I'm booked at the GF for next month and was satisified with that since I could just walk over to get my Lapu Lapu fix, since there were no rooms available at "home", but after reading some of what is closing over on that side of the beach I'm a little nervous about staying over yonder.

I do not have any info on your question, i just wanted to ssay hi to a fellow seattle lite summer has finaly came to the emerald city. So i will toss in my question while I am here to. Capt cooks,how is there breakfasts? what time do they open up in the morining i am a golfer so i thought of grabing something in the moring before going out. Have a great trip!!

Do any of y'all who have been there real recently have pics of what is going on over on the beach towards the Wedding Pavillion and the GF? I'm booked at the GF for next month and was satisified with that since I could just walk over to get my Lapu Lapu fix, since there were no rooms available at "home", but after reading some of what is closing over on that side of the beach I'm a little nervous about staying over yonder.

I have pics of construction wall it starts at wedding pavillion and goes towards Grand Floridian, not all the way-Its in my Picasa pics on my signature-- but its really all u see and its not that bad. I didn't notice it except when on path and still it was NOT offensive in size or horrible looking. If your at Grand or POLY your really not affected by it-- just while on path.

Thanks everybody! The trip was a total surprise for my kids so the upgrade was my surprise, I guess!

I checked a couple of days before we left and there was still availibility for everything except garden view so maybe they overbooked gv?

I'm not used to summer crowds because our last 4 trips have been dec-Jan-feb. Not too terrible though. I haven't seen any large tour groups and that's what I was most worried about.

On the monorail again, going back to the poly for a swim and nap, now! EMH tonight til 2am!!

LOL!! I actually was googling images of the POLY at work yesterday to change my desktop picture...that's the one I ended up using, so pretty and it brightens my day to look at it I won't be experiencing the POLY until January 2013, but I know that day WILL get here sooner or later, and I can't wait to finally experience this beautiful resort
Ps...Just wondering how you get a countdown ticker on it, mine is just the picture?

HI Babybelle 1 How have you enjoyed your previous Jan/Feb trips? I've been twice in January...our first trip was Jan 15-23, 2008 and my most recent trip was at the BC Feb 5 - 13th, 2011 with my son. We where lucky both times to have decent weather, in 2008 we even had a beautiful day to spend at Typhoon Lagoon! we swam most days on our last trip too....Hoping January 2013 holds nice weather for me, I am planning a trip with my BF and my son and his BF...we are trying the POLY for the first time and want to be able to spend some lazy time in that amazing pool looking at the beautiful castle and fireworks in the background Enjoy your trip and congrats on the upgrade!

You have to have a reservation booked and when you are logged in to the Disneyworld website you need to have your confirmation/reservation number added to your profile, then it will show up.
